Atleast indian people shud be ashamed.who khows for what this is for.if sikhs have not carried by order or hukum of sri guru gobind singh.for defence not only for theirself but for everybody who is week and unable to protect himself from injustice or life threat.this is not a talwar.its kirpan.who knows it.if it wasnt there with sikhs.than majority of india had been converted to muslim.its for holy perpose.not for violance.and shoud be used as last option.sadly now a days many hindus in india forgot the sacrifices of khalsa to save humanity.hindus and khalsa sikh use it as last option.and if needed he would sacrifice his life to protect innocent and weak

Well many people unaware of the religious custom might get frightened, it's a real knife after all , people can't be blamed , specially considering what happens US schools. Also having many Sikh friends i know that , it isn't customary for him to carry the knife out of any religious obligation that too in a school. None of my friends do so , they only use it in special occasions like marriages

I know it’s in Sikh religion but it is still a weapon

I know that the actions seen out here in the video is kind of an extrem, but I believe whatever measures were taken it was for the welfare of keeping everybody safe in which my Sikh brother had no bad intentions but it was all an honest mistake.  According to my understanding he could've worn the Kripan under his T-shirt.. no disrespect to nobody but I'm here with all my Love and Respect to all.. \nAnd He being out of India.. people might have heard or know about Sikhism but respectively being in a totally different country it'll be a cultural shock to some of its fellow country's residents and that too he is in an educational environment or zone where a lot of unfortunate events had occur in the past few years due to violence.. so taking these reasons and unfortunate incidents under consideration.. our dear Sikh brother did not do anything wrong in openly carrying a Kripan (knife) for it is his cultural right and had gone some kind of a rituals in order to carry a Kripan for self-defense. But people will still feel some kind of uneasiness when it comes to weapons seen in and around educational area or zones. \nSo whatever measures had been taken for the safty of all.. especially by the security as he was doing his job by understanding the situation. No heard feeling to nobody but I just wanted to get my point across regarding this incident. N I know my Sikh brothers n sisters will definitely come to an agreement of understanding in what I'm trying to say..

I love Sikh people’s religion but i don’t know it’s scary these days, anyone can be doing and saying this we don’t know what are the intentions, some are in clear view and some are not but we don’t know…which one can be raised to harm.
2022-10-07 0
If he has to carry it all the time, why was it not an issue before? \nI mean, if he's always been wearing it, wouldn't the campus security know by now??
2022-10-07 0
Don't be silent. Bring this up so that people know what other religions are and they meant.
2022-10-07 0
I know that it's his culture nobody is opposing him from wearing it, just hide it underneath ur dress.\nProblem solved, u get to keep ur sacred kn1fe and nobody will be triggered by that.\nAnd also u wouldn't be arrested ??????????.

I can understand the world is not understanding Sikh perspective till date, but all those so called Hindu(they do know the importance of kirpan for a Sikh)but still finds a way to criticise Sikhs, even though their ancestors and themself are alive today because of Sikhs and the sacrifices made my Sikh gurus. Unthankful people of india(hindus) not all thought.

Look I get it you know like it’s a spiritual thing and it’s important to him but it’s still a knife and it’s in a college like I’m sorry bro but you’re in the wrong here
2022-10-06 0
Seriously this is not right, that’s not a knife it’s a Sikh symbol, Sikh carry it as a religious person.\nwhat the hell is this? This is person is definitely uneducated who doesn’t know about others cultures spiritual respects of symbols. Everyone please speak it up.
2022-10-06 0
In India there have been many cases where a sikh man involved in a normal argument had pulled out his so called religious symbol (knife) and fatally injured the other person, so much for a religious symbol. The problem with sikh man carrying a knife in the name of religion is same as an american carrying a gun in the name of constitutional right. Allowing any one to keep a knife just because their religion tells them to so is dangerous act as you never know how much of tolerance level that person has. Complete nonsence
2022-10-05 0
It’s ok they don’t know the culture so that’s fine. But irony is in their country people roam around with guns killing random people.
2022-10-05 0
This is very annoying....\nU r visiting some other country and thinking that ur customs will be respected....thats too much....\n\nHats off to that police officer who chose safety of citizen above fake seculariam....\n\nI know sikhs r very peaceful community but the thing is if govt get loose on this then radical bastrads of desert will create havoc in that country in the name of their customs....\n\nSo bro,for the safety of that country it is correctly done and should be carry forwarded....
2022-10-04 0
okk... so no one in the comments actually knows what that knife is for sikhs.... their history is darker and braver than most of the heroes in the world... \nBut he should have taken a smaller one if he is living in a country that doesn't know anything about his faith.... \nmeanwhile guns are allowed in school though
2022-10-04 0
Hi am interested but I don't know how to apply
2022-10-04 0
I speak for myself and not on behalf of anyone.\n\nFirstly, in any such situation be it any religion, caste etc, before reacting, imagine if this was happening to your own son/daughter, your own brother/sister. \n\nSecondly what faith one chooses to practice and how they embrace it, be it wearing a kirpan, a burqa, or keeping a shika(choti), etc, especially opinions like what one can or cannot wear/do, lead to more harm than good. We don't live there, it's not our religion, it's not our life, then who are we to condemn and be opinionated about them.\n\nThirdly, whether the kirpan should be allowed inside an educational campus can only be determined by the campus authorities, the local police and the Sikh community representatives there.\n\nYes, he could have and should have worn it on the inside just like so many Brahmins wear the sacred white thread (yajnopavita).\n\nHe could have taken prior permission from the college authorities to freely wear it if possible and all this could have been avoided. Maybe he doesn't get the permission to wear it, who knows, there are countless possibilities.\n\nAnd lastly, I've come across so many comments labelling the Sikhs as Khalistanis, then if there's some other incident, commenting that people of so and so faith are terrorists, etc.\n\nBy all means, please call us Khalistanis, please call us terrorists, call us anything you like, but we'll continue to respect and love everyone.\n\nIt's a shame that our Jawaans are dying on the border fighting for their country, fighting for our country, fighting for us and we are creating divisions amongst ourselves. Petty name calling and what not.\n\nWe are Indians first, any Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, or Parsi...Indian getting harassed is my brother/sister getting harassed. Their loss is our loss.\n\nPS: If I have offended anyone, my apologies.
2022-10-04 0
They don’t know shit about our traditions ?
2022-10-04 0
khalistanis should know, no one will value the Sikhs like a Hindu would..
2022-10-03 0
Glad he was arrested., if you knife is so important go back where you came from., im indian too I know about this religious but this is not your country even if you born here you need obey the law., who know your mental status and possessing a knife which might hurt or kill somebody, or who knows somebody snatches from you and attacks someone., you are not kid to carry religious toys..,
2022-10-03 0
If he is khalistani.... No comment. We see them as terrorists. If normal Sikh, then they should not carry that knife openly. That thing must not be revealed. We all know it's part of tradition but you never show it openly in public especially in non indian area. They have the right to assume, and investigate because of cultural differences. Peace. Rot in hell if khalistani.

If anyone wants to move or visit montreal, you can very well make it without speaking french. The very vast majority of montreal speaks english as their second language. However, I still strongly recommend you learn at least a bit of french as the further you get from montreal, the less english speakers you will encounter (this can be as low as 30km away). Also, even if people do speak english as their second language, no one likes to get forced to adapt their speaking to someone who doesn't even try to make an effort to speak in the local language. So it is best if you learn at least the basics like: Hello -> Salut; Do you speak english? -> Parlez-vous anglais?; I don't speak french -> Je ne parle pas français;... And other basic sentences you would expect to say. More likely than not people will still switch to english if you know nothing in french, but usually people are more than happy if you try to speak their language and it makes for a more enjoyable experience all around.

USA is the Dumbest place on Earth. Why the hell they don’t know how to respect someone’s religion. He was not using that knife and first of all thats not a knife thats a Kripan which means something that’s only be used against bad things and to protect weaker not to threaten innocents.
2022-10-02 0
Yoooo!! Americans are offended he was not carrying a big ass gun!!! Like these teenagers coming in and killing everyone.\nLike these Americans don’t know lol
2022-10-01 0
The thing is most of kirpans Sikhs carry are dull, they’re symbols only and cannot be considered weapons. And as far as I know this is completely fine with the law in the US (depending on state I think)
2022-10-01 0
U don't hav to display it like dat ...keep it inside if at all u hav to ....nobody knows what's coming these days ...very natural to feel scared .
2022-09-30 0
How do people expect an ordinary person to know about cultural symbolises of globally minority group.. It is obviously a weapon, how is it expected that she would know it is a cultural thing?
2022-09-30 0
It's not wrong on the part of Cops. This is new to them . When they'll get to know that it's been going for so long , they'll consider it acceptable. After all Kirpans are even allowed at Airports in India . Everyone trust Sikhs . Sikhism shares love among all people.
2022-09-30 0
Cop did the right thing. We all know that in sikh tradition male and even female wear Kirpan which is a symbol to protect yourself when you are in serious danger. But as we see in the video the guy is wearing on top of his shirt which absolutely incorrect it has to be worn inside not from outside
2022-09-30 0
Lefty's don't know what to be mad about now
2022-09-29 0
I could be wrong but I feel like he did wanted to happen something like this.\nI know few people who carry that type of knife but they put it inside there shirt not outside like he is doing.
2022-09-29 0

Place the officer was just concerned about his people that's it don't exaggerate this p. S my apology if anyone sentiments get hurt by my words that ' s my personal opinion ?

I am from India, I believe in my culture and customs in this situation its a weapon and safety hazard. What if someone else snatches the knife and hurt somebody. You never know. We should not push religion when it comes to safety.

It is wrong to have a knife in your waist while going to universities. I know it's religious things but don't carry these kinda weapons in public places otherwise you need to interfere with these kinda situations

Never left Africa,I am Ugandan, people think it's bad in Africa but I don't think so,I don't have problems,I have friends at university, life is good, plus we have great weather and climate. I am not complaining and I don't think I will ever leave Africa to be honest,I have never felt any racism,I just know it as a word but it has never applied to me,that alone makes me feel as though I am lucky.

Drake is the only Black Millionaire I know from Canada ?
2022-09-18 0
LOL this is what happens when you vote for socialists. People were praising the Biden administration, and now they are suffering the consequences. Trump had a dirty mouth but he ensured capitalist policies gave businesses freedom. The US economy even doubled after issuing tax cuts. The current administration now has a global effect even on its neighbors. Theres a saying that goes, better the devil you know than the angel you DONT know.

I've had 2 surgeries in Canada, 1 in Quebec and 1 in Ontario and I've never waited 8 hours. Both took less than two hours from the time I registered my paperwork to going under the knife. I'd like to know where you waited 8 hours.

Honest review. I lived in ontario, better say Toronto. Car insurance, rent, work life balance. The good thing is the vibe and some basic things you don't fight alot to attain, the place is vividly. Their economic policies suppress growth people struggle to beyong and you must be equipped with many relevant skills apart from degree. What gives you money in Canada is your own business, risk jobs, most importantly your money source is coming from somewhere and you just invest there in houses, etc. \nThe country is nice and alot of events in the summer, but when the winter comes is really tough and you feel limited if you don't drive, if don't know places to socialise. The minimum wage is very low until this day. In reality everyone has an individual journey, and every experience may be completely different dispite any barriers they may achieve and make their dream come true, but still it will be a very small number.

I Was born in Canada and I agree and disagree with some points you've mentioned. How can you come to Canada and not expect to wear a jacket ? lol... The price of living is going up all over the world, the last 6yrs has become very pricey in all western countries. Hospitals are overrun in major cities in Canada that's very true, but not in smaller locations. Boring (are you crazy ? lolol) I completely disagree. You just don't know where to go lol ... however everything you do in Canada cost money ?. And I completely agree when you mention that Canada won't allow you to become filthy rich (very disappointed about that one) ... There is racism, but not just from the predominant Canadians. There have been many times when the racism is from someone new to Canada. But i also know as a black person i will experience this anywhere in the world. (They're portraying what they normally would towards me while in there own countries) ... anyway nice post, it's nice to hear what it's like from your perspective. Find yourself a good Canadian man (or woman) to show you around ???. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you still have to find the beauty in order to behold it :).
