People are rightly wary. I was nearly blown to bits on 7/7 by the so-called religion of peace. I worked as a railway Motorman, driving electric commuter trains. I wonder if all this time when I constantly bump into employees if they're monitoring me as well.\n\nI'm half Native but don't _exactly_ look it because my dad was really pale. You can tell I'm not 100% white but I could pass.\n\nI do walk around with my own grocery bags because I take the bus/walk home, so I do look a tad suspicious I suppose, so that kind of makes me wonder. They seem very friendly when I speak to them or ask for help though so maybe it's a coincidence.

Since going blonde, wearing eye contacts, and even lightening my eyebrows, people catch me off guard more often by approaching or chatting with me for a while in public/stores. I'm used to looking kind of quiet (had dark hair/eyebrows/eyes, wore dark clothes and makeup usually) and maybe now I might appear more approachable, because the blonde probably downplays my dark clothes and eye makeup, and my other heritage seems invisible (leaning more on looking 100% european, instead of 50% ecuadorian/latin).

Yeah, we're not so awful... I'm American, living in Canada, and honestly, I'm here for my husband, who is Canadian. I absolutely ADORE him. The only thing that annoys me about Canada is the fact they seem to hate diabetics, anyone on a low-carb diet, or anyone who just doesn't want to eat a ton of sugar. In fact I can't get anything sugar-free in a store (simple things, like sugar free coffeemate, sugarfree cake mix) unless I pay, I'm not even lying here, TWENTY TIMES THE PRICE on Amazon, (I'm not paying $85.00 for a 10.2oz canister of coffee creamer... WTF?) That is 3.49USD in any walmart. These people have to be kidding me.

Some legitimately don't feel comfortable near covered folks.. but our fears don't matter, as long as they get to be fashionable/uncovered around each other at home/among themselves. Should it not be the other way around.. practice your religion at home and the religious areas and be a bit more assimilated when out with the rest? Seems like there's a lot of double standards along with the many other issues.

just watched the national on the cbc and an muslim guest said that canadians are accepting, tolerant, kind, etc --- I ask why are muslims not? they do not seem to tolerate becoming canadian - accepting our customs and when confronted some of them are really agressive (but that's just my experience) ... and then there's MO, a good friend of mine (his name is mohammed but prefers Mo - he says it causes less problems in these times) why are immigrates against integrating into our customs - it seems to me our customs are pretty good. we don't believe gays should be thrown off buildings - we don't believe someone who steals should have a hand chopped off, we do not believe that an atheist should be decapitated. If you have a choice it seems you should choose to integrate. now you'll say my view is simplistic - but we complicate things too much - progess is mans ability to complicate simplicity (someone smart once said this)

Every time I go, either I bug someone to help me, OR I have to figure it out for myself. Best Buy just seems to suck in the customer service department.

Justin Trudeau should learn from other countries mistakes regarding bringing in so many immigrants. It seems they do not want to assimilate into our culture but rather change our countries basic culture to suit their own. To me that means trying to take over our land and impose the laws of their land on us. women rights lady said herself there is a war between the west and islam and by her talk she has chosen to be with the west. find one prime minister who says women should wear hijab. there's a western prime minister in this video who says women should not wear hijab. ???seems to me like the women rights and west is suppressing the women. I've done a few of those implicit tests. \n\nBesides a few of them having grammar and spelling issues (wow, Harvard?) it seems more than a few of them are testing more than one thing at a time, or from more than one angle. There's no way to see exactly what the results mean.\n\n(Note: most of them tell me I've got very slim to no implicit racism in my results, so I'm not just arguing out of shame or upset, I'm stating the above out of an understanding of proper vs improper testing practices)

Seems like Blacks would make the best judges. \n\nAlso, in terms of getting asked where you are from, I think that's a lack of initiative on our part as minorities. I think wearing a black hooded jacket with a black toque on wouldn't help his cause either. I think in general, store employees are trained to monitor customers and maybe they're in a bad part of the city where theft is high. I think a person coming into a store looking around through all the isles and doesn't make a purchase can seem suspicious to anyone...I'm Asian and even I would flag customers like this...it has nothing to do with race.

it's not the religion.... it's the mac's convenience and the corner stores selling tropicana juice for 6 bucks a liter. It's the family oriented hiring policies and the rural area stores being bought and not offering fishing bait, ice or firewood but instead offering dollar store fishing lures for 20 bucks. it's the electronic stores that sell tape decks and old CD players. The stuff that really makes a bad impression is when a muslim family buys a Pizza Pizza or a subway and then changes the restaurant so that there is no where to be seated and the food is processed by someone who won't look me in the eye once and speaks a language that I can't understand to an employer about my sandwich and i will never know what the problem was. I feel like my spanish and native friends treat me the same as them. I feel like the scottish guy who hates me for not waking up at 5 in the morning is only mad because i'm not working as hard as him. I'm saying that maybe a lot of muslims don't want to be our friends and maybe some do... but it seems like they don't want to be my friend but will message a pretty white girl on every single facebook post with paragraphs of physical praise. i probably get a lot of facts wrong... but that world may be too far away for us to acclimate into each others societies. I'd like it though if we could all live in such a manner where we could feel like we aren't all gunning for a chunk of the world.

There is so much negativism associated with Islam and all Muslims get tarred with the same brush. They frighten us. Their dress is alien to us. ISIL and other groups do unspeakable things in the name of their religion. Their religion is too demanding. Christianity and other religions can adjust to scientific facts. We KNOW the world is round and there are other worlds, so far unpopulated, out there. Islam seems to demand adherence to its core beliefs written centuries ago and makes no concessions to emerging facts. Religion is the main influence in the life of Muslims and their Imams seem to have a lot to do with governance and education, instead of the separation of church and state to which we are used. If you come to Canada to live, then adjust to our values or leave, please. This doesn't mean that you have to stop attending a mosque but please discontinue the scary body coverings and start treating your women as equals, not chattels. Even some women will argue with that last bit, but why does a woman have to cover up and a man does not? This is NOT equality.

The Niquab is not a requirement in Islam. It's HER personal choice. Even the head scarf is debated but seems to be the norm as a requirement for Muslim women. But many Muslim women do not cover their face and hair. Many wear ALOT of makeup.

The number wasnt small, I found their site years ago (which they since closed down) and it had hundreds of comments, now hundreds might seem like a small number, but the site was up for less than a month.

Would go better for them if they would speak out more against radicals. They just don't seem to.

Why on earth do the young men feels empowered to stop others, who do not share their beliefs, from drinking, wearing clothes as they wish or being gay? Where will this end? Do they have some kind of punishment in mind? It does seem to be against the Declaration of Human Rights. No doubt the authorities will have them locked up soon.

Sad to see Europe go, I'm glad I'm an American and live where I do. It's seems many Muslims are very willing to die for their beliefs. Thankfully Americans are very willing to kill for their beliefs. \n
