That is because we vote people in power who don't want social services, who want to get rid of social security, who defend pharma lobbies and insurance lobbies, who keep education expensive, and actively endorse political and economical segregation. Stop voting these hardcore republicans and you will see positive change locally, start taxing people properly encourage unions for workers, demand fair pay, demand cheap education, demand better health insurance and cheaper. Etc. Immigrants that are coming over the border are not sucking the country dry. It's the stupidity of our own population for voting hardliners that is.

Tonight it was known that dozens more banks in our country were facing bankruptcy. However, the authorities hide this fact, as panic among citizens will cause capital outflow and this will accelerate bankruptcy. If Canada or the US were to charge a fee for permission to remain the revenue would be astounding! I can't think of one immigrant that would refuse to pay a $500 monthly fee to remain and work freely in either country. It has been suggested many, many times. The US complains about growing illegal crossings from Canada to the US, meanwhile the US and CBP agents literally pay illegals in the US, to come to Canada. The illegals are provided cash, food, transportation and directions to an illegal crossing into Canada. The US is pissed that Canada wants changes to the safe 3rd country agreement and is fighting those changes.

Trudeau needs to shut this border crossing already. It is so hard and competitive already to find an apartment or house to rent, there are canadians suffering and waiting on the central housing list here for years and guess who keeps moving to the front of the line taking the spots, these people who are put up in hotels, given food, money, and citizenship, also all while the people who are trying to immigrate legally have to pay and wait, it's not fair for them. Canada is one of the most racist and discrimatory country in the world. It feeds on fooling skilled immigrants and bringing doctors and engineers or other professionals from other countries to come and clean toilets here or become a taxi driver or some other low paying job. Although nothing wrong in these kind of professions but I don't think they studied so much to come to a garbage country like Canada do these kind of jobs.

F CANADA, im in BC canada on disability for life due to immune system problems. past 10 years ive tride getting healthy and started feeling good, i found a good job last summer, making 29$ hr full time! i was very excited and ready to move on in life from the system, 3 months into it, i start doing the math... im losing 22% off each check for taxes twice per month + union dues, + they charging me for cleaning service for my uniform 5$ per check THEN i pay 12% tax on all good i buy.. SO im losing almost 40% of my monthly income after fees and taxes... NOW im working so i need a car to be at work on taime daily.... this is another 15-20% monthly expense.. YEAHHH RIGHT i am not working myself to the bone to work just to be as POOR as i was on Disability. i quit the job as soon as i paid off the car, sold the car now im my own boss again , i have no need for a clock, i sleep until i want, eat when i want, and go where i want 7 days a week. You have to be a total FOOL to work in this country with these amount of fees and taxes, and please dont say taxes are high becuase of the 2% on welfare, take a look at the BILLIONS of dollars your foolish leader Trudeau is giving to Ukriane.

I was taken off my family doctor's list because I haven't visited them in 1 year. Now I cant find a family doctor when I need one. Canada should pay urgent attention to the crisis in their medical system and worry about international politics later.

While it's hard to get a family doctor, medical care is not unattainable. There are walk in clinics, urgent care centers and emergency hospitals. \nHere you were treated according to the urgency of your situation. It's called triage. If you are fine your doctor will send you home rather than pay for unnecessary test. However if you have a legitimate medical issue or strong family history of serious medical issues your doctor will order will order testing. When that testing will be done depends on the urgency of the situation.\nFor example: It took 2 weeks to get a lump biopsy, results came back with cancer cells, surgery wait time was 3 days. If I needed a hip/knee replacement I'd be waiting 3 months. The emphasis is on preventive medicine.

I'm born and raised in the US (my Family lineage has been here for centuries??) and I went to University in Canada. There are things that I like and dislike about both.\n\nThere are more Canadians coming to the US than in reverse. Politically I'm non Partisan. So I really don't need to say much on that, from both Countries. I think the US doesn't pay a lot of attention to Canada. USA is way better than Canada. \nCanada is a third world country pretending it is developed. \nCanada you can make 20$/hr and pay 1 million dollars for a 50 year old home.\nIn the USA so long as you work hard you can be successful\nA major difference is that Americans respect human rights and democracy. THE conclusion is obvious. If you are rich, young and healthy with no pre-existing conditions .... then the U.S. If you are average and need some social support in order to get well into the job market and pay taxes for the benefit of the next generation ... then Canada. .... and please ... do remember .... one car accident in the US and all the success may be over even with the best insurance. The tax points are valid but it also has a plus side. Having the sales tax added at checkout forces you to know what you are paying and hopefully being outraged at each and every purchase. Income taxes on your pay stub every two weeks throws the tax amount right into your face so that you can't not know. 30 years ago in Ontario there was a proposal to have sales tax included in prices. I wrote a letter to my MPP arguing against. People need to be confronted by the idea of their tax amounts. Being perpetually offended by taxation keeps the populace from getting complacent about government mismanagement of the public purse.

I live in Winnipeg paying 325 rent eating out 300 groceries 100 insurance 58 and tickets for bus 30 and earnings around 2400 as a student.

You should talk about the low wages jobs that are not paying much\nit appears that all over Ontario majority of the people make the same amount of money per hour. Not a lot is being said about that.

The number 1 reason not to go to Canada is that after a person spends their whole life paying off their home, in case of death the goverment is charging 25 % of the worth of the house. \nFor example: if you own a business and if you sponsor some gay or transgender group you have tax deduction, but if you leave something to your own kids they have to pay 25 % or a quarter of the value of the home they inherit or accept as a gift. Oh by the way, if you do not leave a will they might end up with nothing.

If you’re broke stay in Canada, if you have a high skilled job (Lawyer, Doctor, engineer, software developer, nurse, etc.) just move to America, the pay is much better. Coming from experience ?

And the tipping culture is absolutely terrible here. It's impossible to have a sub-standard meal with mediocre service and then having to pay 15% tip. \n\nTravel/ hotel/ prices are absolutely out of this world.

As a Canadian born in Toronto and still living there. It was so much better in the 80s and 90s. The liberal government has ruined this country in the last 8 years. Don’t come. It’s too expensive. Immigrants come to cities especially Toronto. There is nothing but low minimum wage jobs for you. If you can line up a great paying job and housing before you move, then do it. If not you are going to struggle. My Uber drivers are doctors and engineers in their country. If you’re thinned skinned or have any anxiety forget it. Sorry for the blunt truth. I had zero money in my pocket, came to Canada in 1993, and built a happy life under the flag and grace of Canadian people. I do not know what are your educational/professional background, but here honesty pays off and people are ready to help. But we do not appreciate whining people, especially drama queens.
