Canadians use immigrants as a way of life. The entire country runs on immigrant labor. However when an American moves to Canada, with advanced skills to bring to the table, we are treated like the Indian folks, so we just turn back around and go home.

At my university in Vancouver, masters were mostly Indian ? and even undergraduate is also like 100% International students. The difference is the school has several branches located in NJ, Canada, and the UK. I've never heard of a negative event happening though. interesting

For me if you come to a small community college is not easy. Like this people who come straight with no background sometimes even small family own store may not even hire you. Nowsaday jobs in canada is need at least 6 month experience or a certification that you actually did some hands on activity completed in the course. I also agree with some comments research before you come here. Many Indian student are so eager to get a job but without at least a 6 months experience need not easy. That is why sometimes I see many student suffer but in my opinion you have to know why you come here in the first place.

Canada has beautiful nature so if you are travelling it must have. Politically. It’s a fuckin shithole where drug addicts wackos have more rights than you hard working guy paying taxes. Freaking police speed trapping like crazy. You might have an impression that police patrol is on every corner but at the same time 11pm in East Village (Calgary) girl who is working at the pizza place has to locked a door because homeless zombies on drugs are causing problems. I came to Canada with high hopes. But I left Canada after six years. As an introvert life was extremely hard there. Suffered depression, racism and devoloped an anxiety disorder. I regretted the decision I made but it was too late as I spend a lot of money and effort to be in Canada. I made the money save up and came back to India. I am happy here and finally I can breathe freely. I enjoy life here and enjoy the freedom here. I still visit once a while but to live there permanently is not for me and my mental health.\nCanada is beautiful its just not for me.

A big RAT RACE in Canada

I studied in Canada, but I disappointed by the racism in the professional world especially the well paying government jobs…it was like a syndicate where Chinese will push for a Chinese to be hired, whites do the same, Indians do the same…the rest of the other races like blacks, Iranians, Arabs etc you have to literally have to fight your way into the system…you have to prove and kiss peoples feet to get hired….I just packed my bags and left Canada..

Everything you say is bang on and I have to say that the most frustrating of all is that the government reaches out to foreign nations seeking professionals - it's called the brain drain, but as you say, once you arrive, they make it VERY DIFFICULT to get into the professions you're trained for. Finally, you come to realize that the red on either side of the Canadian flag is red tape! I have seen immigrants with PhDs working as security guards, doctors working as lower level healthcare workers, etc. Canada is a wonderful country but they a lot of issues to resolve. As for the weather - too bad about that!

'Free Healthcare in Canada'. I can't stand those words. Healthcare here is Canada is NOT FREE. We pay incredibly high taxes for that healcare, in most cases the extra taxes you will pay per month are way higher than if you were to buy your own private coverage. Most Canadians are exceptionally slow witted with money though and they can't figure out that once they pay income, gst, pst, sin, fuel, carbon, property taxes and on and on, you lose WELL OVER 50% of your income to the government. If you ask a Canadian what they pay in tax they will state their income tax, their brains can't comprehend the entire scope of being ripped by the government

I wish more people thought like you and moved out! This is a developed country if you invest properly and work hard it's the best place to live in the world! If you are a lazy welfare QUEEN than yes, you will find it very difficult. Yes the racism is very high here. \nMany people come here for a better life but that is very hard to find now days in Canada. Governments here, on every level have let Canadians down . They stopped investing in affordable housing. They haven’t provide enough placement for education of medical staff over decades and now we don’t have enough nurses and doctors. \nWe need better educated voters but of course they don’t put enough money into education. It’s seems people prefer voting for bullies rather than people who actually care about the people and the land that feeds us. Moving to Canada seems like a fantastic idea but it’s a trap. Immigrants are enticed into the county with all of these promises of free healthcare, freedom and entrepreneurship. It’s all a lie. high taxes to pay for “free”poor healthcare not to mention the governmental overreach and political corruption. You become enslaved. I grew up there and I never want to go back. I miss the mountains and my family… that’s it.

For me as a first gen immigrant, Canada It's a very peaceful welcoming country. Everyone is given the same level of opportunity and with less efforts you can work in a decent position.\nBy the way, the government services are sometimes frustrating, slow and make you stressed, but the country's outlook is very good to me.
