Close Reading

My experience in Canada has been largely positive, with only minimal racial difficulties.  As a teenager, I do recall some kids making blatantly racist comments, when I was the only minority in the room; but they were silly girls, popular and full of themselves, and most of the students who heard did not laugh with them. We all knew it was wrong.  Another time I was told, by an agent, that a potential employer claimed she would not hire me because of my race.  I did not hear these words firsthand, though, so it was impossible for me to verify the truth. In the end, I let the matter alone. Other people,  I realize, have endured severe injustices; such have not been my experience, but this does not subtract from their reality.  Indeed, racism does exist, and shall remain as long as there are imbeciles wallowing in the mire of ignorance, people who cling to an absurd sense of superiority for lack of something more meaningful to hold.  As well--and it must be said!--quite likely, we all have, at some point, entertained discriminatory thoughts. 'Tis not a 'black and white' problem but a human one, and we must be mindful of it beginning with ourselves.  Canada, then, with its many inhabitants and complex history, will never be the exception. We can't expect perfection among people, here or anywhere else in the world.  Even so,  I believe there are enough fellow Canadians who strive to treat people as individuals and are happy to make friends across cultures.  My life has been and continues to be a testament to that!  Whatever our troubles, we still retain a proud heritage of diversity and progressive ethnic harmony.  We do try, and for this reason I love my country.  I am deeply patriotic and immensely proud to be part of it!

There is only one god worthy of worshiping. He is the most merciful, generous, all-knowing and all-wise. If you where to ask him for forgiveness, not associate him with anything else, praise and thank him with sincerity, he will forgive you. This life is like a journey, your born, married, have a baby, die. People have been there and done that. Ask your self the true reason of your existence (is it to have a big house, car...)Worship god ALONE and seek refuge with him. He is truly unique. Peace!

The British Empire dissolved in effect more than 100 yrs ago - how are you blaming that for the problems in Islamic countries now? Surely for a people blessed by Allah as the true followers of the one true religion you would have had the intelligence, fortitude, desire, commitment and competence to have progressed over that time.\nNo, it is easier to take hand outs, blame everyone else for your problems and then when welcomed into cultures that are not your own, refuse to integrate and blame us!

I'm Muslim myself but I'm fed-up with those people's who are trying to force Islamic law in other countries there's no doubt about it Islam is a beautiful religion but first they should learn about Islam and make Islamic countries example and show the world about Islamic beauty. At the moment Islamic countries are worst situation and they are far away from Islam. The way they do i even can't stand them if i would be a other religion i would do the same it's makes hate nothing else.

And Geert Wilders is considered a racist in the UK... This is exactly his warning! He has nothing against the people and its religion, he is against the Islamic influence in our society and huge dominance that doesnt fit in the European culture or society. It doesnt fit in. My country is one of the better examples of Islamic law though still flawed due to national problems and namely international relations and the paranoia surrounding the USA for good reason (CIA Coup and 25 years of USA backed dictatorship and opression)\n\nNow about the reports, understand that western media thives on shock media, they thrive on putting things out of context and exagerating them.\nYes those things happen with Muslims as they happen with everyone else, but it's not Islamic.

ITs ONLY muslims living there because who else would live with muslims? you people have made enemies of the whole world, chrisitians, hindus and sikhs all hate you and the majority of the world belongs to one of these religions groups - so thats a lot of people!

Muslims .. if you don't like it there you can go back to your fucked up country. No one is stopping you the door is wide open. No one is forcing you to stay. Don't impose your ignorant, retarded, backwards religion on every one else.
