I can see westerners being freaked out by the women who cover their face. I myself was like wtf when I seen a women with covered face for the first time back in northern Virginia, and I am from Ethiopia - a country that has a big Muslim population, more than 30%. how about banning niqabs? niqabs are really unnecessary. We need to see a whole face to identify a person. And wearing a niqab is actually impolite towards deaf and hard of hearing people because they often need to read your lips to understand what you're saying. I find that with each generation, the issue with racism becomes slightly less and less, which is great considering slavery was abolished only for about 100 years. I find that living in Canada as a black millenial is much better then say living in the 70s. I never faced racism the entire time i grew up here. but then again I haven't been everywhere in Canada. I think the most you'll experience here right now is indirect racism in the small towns. but you just have to show them who you really are and most will be OK. Wearing a hijab or a niqab shouldn't define a person. Why should ALL Muslims be judged on something ONE Muslim did? That's like saying you will never eat apples again, because one didn't taste good. As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... There should only be sharia law in a totally Muslim country. I do not expect to have an English sentence passed on me or be judged by English laws in Dubai so no Muslim should expect their sharia law to be impossed in the UK. There will come a point when the English People of all faiths and religions will say enough is enough and at that point things will probably come to a head and there will be mass riots against Islam.
