The big difference between both countries, is that it is slow and harder to find jobs in Canada, in USA you find jobs of all type right away. about health services , Canadian one is great, but in USA, if you are ilegal, or unemploye or if you dont have private insurance the goverment pay your bills , it is called Medicare, it is for low income people. So both countries have different systems and both work well.

Very true. I moved to Canada at the age of 20 going on 21 in 1990 and in a few months, I am turning 54. I've been to college twice and I could not get a job in the fields I studied for; instead I am working in a factory and I've worked hard. I'm on medical leave, but I'm now waiting to return to work and my employer has not been making it easy to return. I plan to return to my home country once I retire, because I hate winter weather and when it gets cold, my arthritis flares up and it will get worse as I age. It's very expensive here, car insurance, house insurance, phone bills, grocery bills, property taxes, and federal taxes. You work and work and you get 2 weeks vacation and sometimes, you don't even get to enjoy it. I remember getting sick when I took my holidays. You work long and crappy hours for just enough money to pay expenses and you don't really get to enjoy life. Canada is a beautiful country, but when do you get time to explore and enjoy it? Right now for me, it seems to be when I retire I'll be able to do that, if I can afford it (remember, taxes are high).

Canada is not worth coming to if you own a home in your current country and are generally happy, have a decent job and family, don't come here because it will not be easy or better than what you have. You will have to start from nothing, working the worst jobs cleaning hotels and toilets or working minimum wage in a retail store, even if you are a professional in your home country. There is nothing better here, nothing is free unless you come as a refugee. This country is the anti-dream of America. The taxes are very hi, the rent is unaffordable, to buy a house you have to make $200,000k a year, so basically you will be screwed. There is no way to save for retirement in Canada, so don't think life will get easier. In Canada you will get stuck working well beyond your retirement years like into your 70's you will work here until you drop dead. My parents are 70 and still work because they are still paying off their mortgage, while they get retirement $1,300 per month which is the standard is a joke since it doesn't cover the basics, you need $6,000 at least to survive for a month, to buy food, gas for your car, carinsurance, phone bill, utilities, anything else, just the basics. What the government gives you is completely unrealistic to the times, considering the amount of money people pay in taxes you don't get enough during your retirement years, the government has no use for you so they dont care about you when you get old.

Lived in Canada all my life. Love it. But,,, there is no future here. High taxes, poor government,, low wags, racism is a huge problem, and its not just white peoples. The immigrants can be super racist also. All this crap that Canadians are polite is not real. Its called passive aggression. Well everyone, the option is to go into a system like the United States has , which incidentally is far from perfect itself, my spouse was in emergency for five hours last Saturday night before anyone looked at her, , which the system will spiral in to a business and if you think you have problems now, just wait till what’s down in the future. As a Canadian who has lived in the United States the last seven years, our good family healthcare is $1270 US a month, which incidentally has a $1000 deductible and a 10% co-pay on everything we experience, and trust me an MRI scan ( yes , just a scan, not surgery) for your brain is costed out at $7000, so be prepared to pay your deductible and 10% of it along with all the other attending doctor charges, even with good healthcare at 1270U.S. a month ! That monthly healthcare premium is almost $1600 a month Canadian. Canadians complain about taxes being too high also, but that is my profession, and when you round out the two , there may be 2 to 3% adjusted for the exchange rate higher and you still get a lot greater bang for the buck. Also, your higher education in the United States is easily 2 to 3 times of what you’re paying for in Canada. I know it’s not optimal, however trust me you still have it good in Canada, I find so many immigrants complain about it when they come to Canada, Yet they are living in a relatively safe and secure country, just a little bit of appreciation would be nice. Is it always what I can get, how about maybe what you can give? Maybe the answer for everyone and candidates to start to pay to go see a doctor if you can have the doctors availability, that is the sad truth, and I’m quite sure people will not like that by any means when they see the charges. Trust me ,Canada is obviously far from perfect, but is overall still a pretty darn good country, for somebody that dislikes it so much, they need to go back to where they’re from, and compare, it might be a better option for them.

Other countries allow NON profit competing insurance providers to “simulate” free markets and provide healthy competition. Allows more choice and keeps administrative bloat at a minimum. \n\nPrivate sector: allow a fully functioning for profit private sector (for those that want a non-govt choice)Again, allows a 2nd employer, more choice and healthy competition. \n\nI cannot wait for the Supreme Court of Canada to hear the Cambie case and break up the Monopoly. Because essentially, the Govt owns their citizens bodies!\n\nFrasier Institute just released a 2022 study: family of 4, making 150k will pay $16,000/year or 12,000 usd for healthcare. The benefit of those taxes is that when you are older you are taken care of. You are paying into your future. Healthcare staff is overwhelmed here in America as well. We wait many hours in emergency rooms here in the US.

BC is the dumping ground for drug addicts, Trudeau made a promise and failed to follow through. So one province carries the load for the other provinces. Welfare will purchase air fare to fly their addicts from their province to BC. Premier John Horgan has renovated hotel after hotel, put 400 addicts in the renovated hotels, clearing out the tent city, however in less than one month another 400 drug addicts have moved to BC forming another tent city. Trudeau hasn't given Horgan a cent for care, it comes from our taxes. BC pays more tax than any other province and our annual rates are far higher than any American State. So if you don't want to pay those taxes don't pick BC as your home province.

Not sure I agree with Quebec being no 1. Being born and raised in that province, and able to speak French fluently. I had no problem moving to Ontario. Quebec is for sure a beautiful province, but that said, has the worst health care system, the political structure is definitely anti English. Any immigrant must go to French school, unless you pay privately. Taxes are the highest in the all of Canada, and you get very little in return. Personally, I would creep over the border into Ontario, and if you are working in a Quebec, pay a hell of a lot less in taxes, have a more liberal education system, both in English or French, and healthcare is much more accesible.

I think most ppl have to remember it’s a British Colony we still pay the Queen(kinda embarrassing) Usa had seen this problem for more than 200 years ago. I live in Montreal and I can assure you French is not required. Most people here are very nice and willing to switch to english after you say good morning instead of bonjour. In addition, there is even a program where the goverment pays you to learn french. Just take into account that taxes are higher than in other provinces.

When I lived in NJ, people would work in NYC but wanted to live in central or southern NJ. I had a job that paid me $22/hour back in like 2012. But I worked with a guy who quit his job in the city because he couldn't stand the commute. Him and his family moved to a cheaper area of NJ (still nice, but cheaper) and he took a job where I worked. He told me that if I was driven, that same job paid $40/hour. And even then, he couldn't really afford to live comfortably in the city. But eventually he found it most beneficial to take a lower paying job closer to home and find a cheaper place to live. That is city living though. It's always way more expensive. But I agree, living in a city in the US is ridiculous when it comes to cost of living.

I’m an American. I live rather close to Canada and spent over 2 years in time living there over summers mostly . I love both. If you aren’t going to a grocery store you are probably getting fat in America. I find it hard to eat when I’m outside of my larger metro area. honestly I don’t worry about my security because thankfully I work hard to pay the bills to live in an area I don’t need to worry about. SOME major cities cost more, others cost substantially less. Most southern states have WAAAAY cheaper housing than here in Alberta. I can go to Corpus Christi and pay $300k for a house that would cost me $800k here. The US has massive diversity when it comes to cost of living city to city, state to state.

I live by lake Michigan about 40 minutes North of Chicago and 40 minutes South of Milwaukee with every type of social biome around me in between as well as airports and I didn't realize how different it made me from people who live hours or more from a different type of demographic or city until I started going to Summer Camp back in the day and talking to people who hadn't left their hometown, ever because they don't have easy access to airports, translations and if their going to pay extensive money for a family trip it's probably to go hunting or go to the one resort thing their state is known for. I've been to several other states between the East and West Coast and it's interesting to see how much of a mixing pot we are of stuff and I do wish travel was more prevalent between everything for the sake of letting people see the rest of the country.

I've been to all the major cities and even I wonder how people survive on low paying jobs, what some people pay for a Studio in a major city could afford a house elsewhere. It also seems the bigger the city, the more segregated it is, I mean you have a Chinatown in almost every metropolis I've been to. NYC Public Transportation was disgusting...Tokyo was immaculate. America is a car country, and most city planning was done with the car in mind. Roll Tide.

I’ve had the same company send me an offer $30k less to work the same job in Montreal instead of Vancouver because of the cheaper cost of living. Its a bit niche but phone bills in Canada are pretty awful. I don't know if it has gotten better on the east coast, but on the west coast pays 60$+ per month for jack-all on data on a bare minimum smartphone plan. I live in Europe now and I pay 12$ for 5Gb of data and free texts and calls across Europe (also no data roaming within the EU, which should be a thing between USA and Canada imo). These kind of mobile plans are starting to take root in the USA but are still not available in Canada, which is a major L in my books.

In Dallas I’m paying 1686 for a 650 square foot single bedroom. That’s before internet and electric. But I got friends who got rent controlled property in LA for 200 a month. It’s wild how different it can be. I make 2200 a month at my job. Which means a car is barely an option. At the same time I work across the street and in a corporate setting.

The CBC is a huge issue in Canada. It’s funded ENTIRELY with tax dollars therefore the government decides what we watch, even if no one wants to watch it at all, and the CBC is 100% in love with the Liberal government and all of their news is blatant propaganda. Why not? The Liberals increased the CBC budget to 1.6 Billion a year of course they want to spin the news to help them especially when you consider the fact that many Conservatives want it defunded completely because they are tired of the spin. \nAnother issue is that some areas of Canada make the decisions for the rest of the country. Ontario and Quebec have large populations therefore when it comes to federal elections they basically always get their way even if everyone in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba disagrees. \nAlso, Quebec gets treated completely differently than the rest of the country. They have special deals when it comes to university tuition and child care, they have their own political party that no one else can vote for, and they force the rest of the country to have French all over the place and on everything which is mostly pointless and very few people in Canada can only speak French and can’t understand the English. Everyone is scamming the students. The agents in India, the colleges here, the employers and above all the landlords in a tight rental market. The whole tax part of this vid is wrong on so many levels. Based on your analysis, I should be paying less tax in IRL than a 200k+ person living in Candada, whereas I pay almost 46% tax (40% + hidden taxes) on my income here in IRL. And, I'm not even remotely close to 200k+ salary. Second of all, most countries have similar tax and salary requirements, where your salary is always given BEFORE tax. It's pretty common practice. Lastly, many countries requires you to register your own tax every year. It' also quite a common practice. Fair enough on giving prices before tax. That sounds bit dodgy. However, few countries I lived in have a system in place that it is mandatory to give the customer the price before tax, amount of tax and after tax pay.

If you want to be an entrepreneur and make things that change the world. then USA is better like for Engineers and Entrepreneur etc. In Canada is more for peoples who want take the benefits and get out of there after they have the Canada passport, bachelor degree and educate there childrens. Some facts are exaggerated about health care . When it comes to life threatening conditions , you always get priority and get treated very well . Less critical conditions obviously het less priority . \n\nTax is significant . But you can’t have good social services and expect to pay less taxes . There are tax efficient investments to reduce taxes you pay such as RRSP and TFSA . One needs to do their due diligence and be bit smart with their money to maintain a good life style , educate their children and save for retirement .

Canada needs workers for low paying jobs which locals don't want, unfortunately we have found a solution at the expense of Punjabi youth.
