I knew it all the time. My son wanted to go to Canada. I steadfastly refused. I told him not to sell his 'jameer' for 'phoren' and that it would be ok with me even he earns Rs 5-10K/month. I am vindicated. Education is a scam worldwide. I am smart enough to know it because I am not 'educated' ? I barely passed Std 12 with 43% yet I am earning well. My advice to all the aspiring students is don't waste your parents' hard earned money on false pursuits.

The problem with Indian people is that despite their hard work and dreams for good, their energies are misdirected without concerns that there are laws, rules and expectations in other countries that are different then theirs. For Canada, what is hesitation to talk straight about approving student visa, where applicant don’t afford to pay for travel, full time education and living expenses at all without simultaneously working, where no appropriate jobs are possible or available at all.

hmm .. when I worked in Japan for about a year locals told me that if I wanted to obtain Japanese citizenship I had to either perform a heroic act saving lives, marry a Japanese woman or officially employed in Japan for at least ten years. Just residing in Japan doesn't count. I have also heard that the notorious Nigerian crooks of Tokyo marry Japanese women to obtain citizenship. Reading the comments, I am stunned Canada hands out citizenship like napkins, are we talking about dual citizenship here??? and what about when they don't like the cold and decide to leave, they still can keep that citizenship like some sort of collector's badge? Heartbreaking . Canada was once the land of opportunity for refugee's and immigrants from all lands . Sikhs and Punjabi have been proud Canadians since the early 19'th century . Labor contractors are lacking control and monitoring and law enforcements. I would never have dreamed Canada would exploit anyone .

The Canadian government is well aware of the scam private colleges and that the majority of these students aren’t getting an education and are just cheap labour for Canada. The Minister’s feigned shock that it’s happening is pathetic. The fact that Canada didn’t sign the Code of Conduct that other countries did says it all. If Canada is so interested in cheap labour, then just issue closed work permits with a path to permanent residency. Why make them spend tens of thousands of dollars and put their families into debt at useless private colleges?

I’ve always wanted to move to Canada and my sister is already living there but the weather is what’s keeping me from doing so. I live in the Middle East so we have the opposite problem, we can’t really go outside at 1 PM because it’s boiling hot and we only have two seasons. I visited few countries in Europe and fell in love with it, my goal now is to move there!

Canada also not a good country as you can not play outside for 7 months in a year. easy to get the PR, you will not get better jobs. Only benefit is you have the access to the US job market.
