I,m French Canadian close to Vermont by the news I got,gun trump and racist prick no never American dream or Canadian dreams,it’s not hard to choose…

I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. Unfortunately I think it may be way too late. The fact that a known scumbag like Donald Trump could still,I think, get back into the White House says it all. The warring political parties should be lining up to put him jail. Far too many shootings and violence down there. When I meet Americans up here, they are always nice folks, always respectful. Maybe they're relieved I'm not armed. I'm kidding. Still, all things considered, very proud and very lucky and very happy to be a Canadian.

I’m Canadian, have lived in 4 countries, now back and retired in Canada.\nI used to visit Palm Springs, NYC, Boston; but stopped in 2015.\nI will never ,ever!, go back, not even just over the Border for a day out.\nI don’t even book flights that involve a change in the US when flying to Europe , even to save some money.\nI think the population of the US in general is becoming more and more brainwashed into warped thinking.\nMy theory is that it’s from keeping decent healthcare and education from the masses…..brains are becoming less and less developed, therefore ripe for ideas instigated by proven morons such as Trump, MTG and the awful Lauren Boebert, to name but a few.\nHarsh, but the US is now a failed place.\nIt used to be a great place…I’m sad now, as the ordinary nice people who don’t subscribe to the ever increasing nonsense there are being subsumed by the worst of humanity if you can call it that.\nWe lived there as children for a bit, but came back to Canada when my Dad got a job here.\nMy brother and I always thank our now long gone parents that we were not brought up as Americans.\n\nIt’s not God Bless America any more, but God Save America.?\n\nWell…you did ask….so there you go.

1. Healthcare is non-existent. 2. In general, americans are rude and ignorant to others. 2. GUNS - too dangerous with U.S. gun laws. 3. TIPPING: Americans either don't tip or are extremely cheap and ignoant to servers (I am not a server. This has been my observation over several years.) 4. ROADS - U.S. roads are all giant pot-holes. 5. DANGEROUS and Poverty - there are too many areas of poverty and danger. TRUMP and BIDEN! 6. SCHOOLS - Too scary. 7. TRUMP and BIDEN - Nopety, Nope, Nope, Nope! **There are some PROS, but the negatives outweigh these** I can list another 1,000 or so negatives.

Move? Hell no. I won’t even travel there. The US health care, guns, racism, heat, crazy individualism, crappy education system, it goes on and on. Never mind the horrible political situation Trump, religious nuts. . . Why more sane Americans don’t move away is stunning.

The exact words I was thinking:\n\nThere is not a chance in hell of me ever moving to the United States.\n\nReasons.\n#1. Gun culture.\n#2. Health Care.\n#3. Christian Theocracy.\n#4. The Sheer Near Total Insanity of the Republican Party. This includes the state of the Supreme Court, and the current barbaric handling of abortion.\n#5. The racial issues... that are still today influenced by the history of slavery.\n#6. The Issues around the Electoral College that allow a candidate to become president while losing the popular vote. Also the lack of an independent body to oversee elections. That is sheer madness.\n#7. Denser populations, and, as a related issue, greater pollution.\n#8. The Presidential Pardon... which is a concept that seems designed to facilitate the abuse of power.\n#9. Fox News, and the rest of the deeply manipulative right wing media... which I should have put much higher on this list.\n#10. Military spending... which also should probably be higher on this list.\n#11. The myth of American exceptionalism.\n#12. American ignorance of the rest of the world, in general.\n#13. The Criminal Code including the Death Penalty, which was eliminated in Canada many years ago.\n#14. Education.\n#15. The drastically increased potential for political violence ever since Trump entered the political arena. This one also should be higher on the list. The United States could not even get through a transfer of power without violence. This is beyond pathetic. The peaceful transition of power is the #1 job of first-world democracies.\n#16. Attitudes toward social problems such as poverty and drug addiction. \n\nNotice that #4 - #7 could be subdivided into more than one reason.\nI thought this list was going to have 5 or 6 items on it.

I'm an American who moved to Canada. Would I ever move back? Probably not. The US is so screwed up right now that I can't imagine ever moving back into that malstrom. Most Americans don't realize the laughing stock Trump has made of the US. Trudeau isn't great but Donald Trump makes Trudeau look like a saint. And socialized medicine, while imperfect still beats the US medical insurance situation. Less litter, less congestion and more politeness. That's Canada compared to the US.

incredible and the news doesn’t show this though I guess Trump’s wall was Working , Biden and administration shitting all over American people we can’t let this go on
2023-07-19 0
Now ? seeing ? why Trump wanted that wall built. These illegal immigrants are already taking jobs and benefits from taxpaying Americans. If we dont pay taxes, we go to jail...BUT if the illegal immigrants don't pay taxes, they get a slap on the wrist...SMDH welp we're doomed

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. Unbelievable that after two years, so many Americans believe anything he says, when he claims that he won in 2020 with not even a ounce of evidence to the contrary. There is not even a theory that would explain his claims. The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. I don't know anyone that owns a gun, I don't know of anyone who has gone bankrupt for being sick, and I never worry my granddaughter going to school and being shot.

I lived in the US; Virginia for 13 years. For the most part the people are lovely... just like a lot of places. If you treat people with kindness; they usually return that kindness. At least that is my experience. Mind you, I came home in 2006. When I lived there the political climate was completely different. I would absolutely NOT move back to the US. When I came home to Canada; I was so grateful because I had to endure 2 years without Healthcare when I really needed it. I lived on pain pills at that time. I was in a wheelchair by 2008 and so grateful that I was home where my country took care of me when I was unable to work, or even walk. \n\nPolitics has changed so much since then. It was always kind of poler, but when Donald Trump entered the scene; it has become just awful. Again, I love the Americans for the most part, however there is so much racism, homophobia and hate displayed in the country right now. I pray every day that Donald Trump does not become president again. I fear for the United States. I love her as a sister to Canada; she is. I want her people safe...

1. You have mass shooting EVERY F'ING DAY! EVERY DAY!!!!! \n2. The fact you just rushed past the abortion issue is concerning considering 50% of the pop is women, it is a vital area to consider if you care at all about women and their rights and right to choose. \n3. Healthcare in general.\n4. As a gay married man of 20 years your republicans can get bent. \n5. Your political corruption is INSANE and VERY evident. I had an american friend tell me that Trump did a good job cause N Korea and Russia didn't bomb the US while he was in office. \n6.

Guns make your country beyond the pale. Not a chance, no longer civilized, too many political and religious fanatics. We’ve got the same stuff you mentioned without TRUMP. We have a completely different mind set, we aren’t just like Americans with a different accent. Staying right here in Canada.
2023-07-19 0
i am way to polite to live in the USA. I often say im sorry to the the living room table when i bump my little toe on it. also no because Trump is american... dont want to risk having a criminal for president

My parents were snowbirds for decades. At the end of their stay, they owned a small place in Safford, AZ. I spent all my vacations wherever they were, Texas, other parts of Arizona. I loved exploring the US with them - Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Gila Cliff Dwellings, to name just a few. Multiple National Parks over their 30 years of winter stays. \n\nThe US is beautiful and steeped in history. We met some really nice people, and even loved a few of them (but not in a weird way).\n\nMy parents sold their place just before Trump became president (on purpose), and none of us have been back since.\n\nDon’t get me wrong, we have our share of ignorant and uneducated people, but most of ours don’t have guns. \n\nAnyways, I digress. Never, not once did we ever consider becoming American Citizens. Especially since Trump (OMG).\n\nWe love our country, even though it’s not perfect. We love our health care, such as it is currently.\n\nIn memory of Gene of Tory, AZ, a family friend, who was like a brother to all of us who knew him, who died too young because he refused to give up his children’s small inheritance to your healthcare system. \n\nEven though there is darkness, there is still greatness in your country. Hugs.

73,000,000 Americans voted for defendant Trump and most would again. Nuff said. Your adopting Facism at an alarming rate and Canadians prefer actual freedom. I wish you all the best of luck
2023-07-17 0
No we are not a better America. We have a sane country, no guns, no militarized police, a democracy, a parliamentary form of government and a King as our Head of State. A Trump would be impossible up here. We elect a party not a leader. One non-confidence in parliament and our Vice Regent, the Governor General would inform the King and parliament would be closed for a new election. We also have no ridiculous nearly 250-year-old Constitution. Our Consitution is based upon the British North American Act. We can revise it anytime with the Governor General's permission (and the King's). We are a peaceful nation and do not think like Americans. But I'd travel in the North East US. America''s fixation with patriotism is nauseating.

I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )

Canadian's reaction to US right-wing politicians and Christian nationalists is not out of step with many Americans. However, it is an overwhelming majority here in Canada. For example a poll of Canadians in February 2022 found that 68% believed democracy would not survive another 4 year term of Donald Trump as President, and 47% were concerned about the US potentially becoming an authoritarian state.\nThat being said, President Biden had a warm welcome in Canada's Parliament, and is generally well regarded here.

Hell NO Americans are loud, gun toting, trump voting, woke nuts people that are beyond fixing. Canada for our flaws are so much balanced, happy and polite.

I live just outside of Montreal, pretty near the border. One of my good friends used to live in Vermont, right near the border and we would visit each other several times a year. She moved to Tennessee, and I flew down to visit her a few years ago (haven't been down since COVID) while Trump was still president and I'm not even joking when I say that as soon as I left Nashville I was highly anxious 100% of my time there. And I'm white, I'm not a visible minority, I suppose if I kept my mouth shut nobody could tell I'm not from there, it really hit me how sad it is that I even felt that. All these patriotic gun toting Americans I feared would shoot me for whatever reason they could come up with. I understand that that's not ACTUALLY likely, I was glad I left my husband and children at home, and while I enjoyed my weekend there I couldn't WAIT to get back home. New England was easier to handle, but I'm not cut out for the openly racist, homophobic, anti women's rights, you name it kind of discussions. I was horrified that not only do people ACTUALLY think like this, but those who are being oppressed, or those who simply support those being oppressed are having to keep quiet for fear of being murdered because of this. Nashville was really cool, I loved it, but I truly feared for my safety outside of the city, despite being a straight white woman. I can't imagine what it's like for the minorities, it's so sad. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that you're just numb to it, because being on the outside looking in, it's hard to believe what's actually going on, it looks as though the country is regressing,

As a Canadian he’ll no I would never move to the USA crazy politics god help us all of any of those crazies are elected in the next election you’re country will become a fascist country no decent health care I wish Americans would stop saying that the health care system is restricted and we can’t go to certain doctors and we let the elderly die bullshit yes our health care system isn’t perfect but we don’t pay a penny to see a doctor and if we have any surgeries or long stays in the hospital does not send us a bill for anything gun violence in the states is very crazy and sadly since that evil despicable trump brought out visible racism Canada is not perfect but I’m a proud Canadian I won’t even go to the states on vacation way to many crazies to all the decent Americans this does not reflect on you

Tyler the vast majority of Americans and Canadians live in larger cities than you so you have not been exposed to the day to day lives of the majority. I simply cannot see how so many are willing to accept the gun violence, healthcare nightmare where you are afraid to lose your job and insurance. The hatred between the left and right is staggering and leads to some of the violence for which we can thank Trump.

There are so many scary things about the US right now. Drugs, crime, mass murders, accessibility to healthcare, terrorism, racial hate crimes, etc. The list is quite long. Not everyone is affected by all of these things (knock on wood). One thing that is disgusting is politics. It is not dangerous per se as the aforementioned so it is probably not fair to say it as a justification against moving to the US. However, it is very commonplace in the US, and it is very annoying. Politics is extremely toxic, aggressive, and divisive right now. One wrong comment out of your mouth in public, and people will be ready to fight you. Or on the flip side, you hear one wrong comment in public, it is best to bite your tongue. \n\nPolitics in the US was not always intolerable. It has always been a strong subject of discussion since forever. However, it became disgusting and overly obnoxious ever since Trump came into the scene. I think his elitist personality gave his supporters a green light to be more vocal about their own divisiveness. Combine that with social media, and you have a recipe for disaster... so much hate, divisiveness, and willingness to not bite one's tongue right now in the States. American politics is really overbearing. And monkey see and monkey do... it will leak into Canada. I guarantee it.
2023-07-16 0
Not Canadian but... back in the 80s and 90s America seemed like the coolest place ever, cosmopolitan and progressive in a way the UK wasn't. Then I grew up. The Internet got invented. I got to talk to Americans, hear US news and politics that never made it to the UK. Then Trump and Qanon happened. Now there is no way in hell I'd want to live there. Bankruptcy inducing healthcare, religious fanatics everywhere and the risk of getting shot on the daily? No thanks.

I'm afraid that with the gun craze down there, I would not consider it. Then, there is the lousy healthcare... And just when I think you guys aren't that bad off, I watch an episode of John Oliver's This Week Tonight, and a plethora of new reasons spring up. \n\nRight now in Canada, there is a Conservative Party that is starting to adopt the MAGA philosophy of consorting with white supremacism, fascism, misogyny and racist, and I cannot imagine moving to a place where this stuff is running rife. \n\nTyler, you are a lovely example of a decent American, and in truth, when visiting the States (which I haven't done for years), I met more people like you than like MAGA. However, my tolerance for stupid, hateful people is far lower since Trump was elected, and I swore I would not visit the US again until the WH, Congress and the Senate clean house of the Republican scourge. \n\nBut moving to the US would never be an option for me. I love Canada. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada - Vancouver Island. I was born here and have visited many places in the world, but this is, and will forever be, home!
2023-07-16 0
My brother lives in Canada and says in Florida during the winter. He loves the US and the American dream. He loves Trump too. I think the only thing keeping him in Canada is the health care.
2023-07-16 0
I am half american and have family is the US which is great but NO !.... the US has expensive healthcare and TRUMP and his disciples which decide it since I am a decent, kind, intelligent and intend to stay that way, NO !
2023-07-16 0
Heck no, I won't go. Ever since you elected trump and revealed that about 40% of americans suck... yeah, I won't even visit anymore.
2023-07-01 0
You americans need trump
2023-06-30 0
I see a group of criminals that belong back in their country. Want to live here? Become an American the legal way, don't want to? I hope you look forward to Trumps deportation campaign in 2024, I certainly am.
2023-06-21 0
Donald Trump was and will be always right.. stupid Americans
2023-06-19 0
Trump is the solution. All you iiiiiidiot Americans who voted for Biden and were mocking the building of the wall by Trump should be ashamed of yourselves. The states and Canada need to stop opening up the country for all immigrants. Let’s fix our country and take care of all our American and Canadian citizens first and foremost, then we’ll consider others entering and entering the right way.
2023-06-12 0
I remember they said Trump had no compassion on these poor folks, so they switched his policies for theirs and this is the result... You tell me which policy is better for the prosperity of Immigrants and Americans...
2023-06-08 0
Im not a Trump fan, but he certainly prioritized boarder protection and finish the fence. It is in these instances that it wasn't bad at all. As a migrant myself, hurts see others trying to come into this country in desperation abandoning everything unlike me as an American dreamer, this is a cluster of emphatic emotions
2023-06-04 0
Thanks to Biden this is what this happens these illegal Mexicans try entering our states, in Pennsylvania there’s already barely enough room for us to live Americans and these Mexicans come in and start making themselves home we need trump back
2023-06-01 0
On the serious side now. What if you lived in a country that was so poor you barely could live. Now what if you were a family man who couldnt provide for your loved ones. Then you hear about this place where its called the land of opprtunity and has the best economy in the world. Thanks to Joe. You can fact check that too. Would you give everything you had to find a better way of life for yourself and love ones or would you just waste at the side just to die.? Thats a deep question for many because they could not answer it. Be grateful you not one of these poor people who have it a lot harder and have less to almost nothing but believe The United states of American could help them. Trump supported a wall on the West Coast thur Texas . I wonder why at times . I have been around the world and one thong i can say about walls. They are not built to keep people from coming in country but built to keep the people from leaving the country and a wall signifies communism. Think about that onebfor a minute.

Find. Iranians. In. There they are there they Speck Spanish. They. One over for. To destory. American. Biden. Open. Gaye for bide. Want. Them to kill Trump.

I'm not American but didn't US democratic party made fun of Trump's wall back then? Lol

Why come come here to stand OUTSIDE in the HOT SUN, with your little babies and totters to BEG for our money, THAT WE AS AN AMERICAN BARLEY MAKING IT HERE OURSELVES. “WE DON’T HAVE IT TO JUST GIVE IT AWAY!”, so you can turn around and get in your nice car and go to your home, while your husband on the next block doing the same. Biden ain’t worried about if they make it over he probably sitting back laughing at how crazy this country going down to ?, and to be honest MOST of them are SOOOOO FREAKING DIRTY, don’t clean up behind them selves, kid’s run around in the store an the parents don’t say a damn word. I’m just saying “TRUMP!” did a DAMN GOOD JOB of keeping this nonsense from happening…

We lost our republic in the 1870s and since then corporate America has controlled every aspect of our lives. We’ve lived under an elusive veil of freedom for over a century. You have to pay the government their share for everything, private business isn’t legal without government permission, can’t hunt/fish without government involvement, can’t build a self sufficient home without government involvement and regulation. Antibiotics and anti diarrheal and any REAL medicine that isn’t some deadly pharmaceutical is federally controlled and not accessible to the general public, historical and scientific information is withheld from the population. We even made up our own version of history just to brainwash these past few generations. And it worked, because people have had the collective knowledge of human history at their fingertips since the late 2000s…. It’s called the fucking internet, And maybe 5% of Americans took advantage of that and informed themselves. The other 95% just soaked up YT and Tik Tok while they make repugnant Baaa Baa claims about the left and right. Just constantly feeding into this division THEY created. The left and right are owned by THE SAME PEOPLE and the these people put who they want in office. There’s underlying parts of our government that fight this, and get people they don’t particularly like in the door. Like the Kennedy’s and Trump but we have no value in voting. It’s just another way to suck on that big red white and blue dick. The truth is we are the sovereign people, and we hold sovereignty over this country, and it’s our goddamn responsibility to fight the fucking corruption that’s in our government. And we’re just a nation of pussies, we have legislation called the 2A that explains in detail those responsibilities. The 2A was never about guns, it was about protecting the republic. Look at the world right now, the people in countries that don’t have legislation like the 2A are rising against their governments. And we just sit and cower and bitch about piss poor wages and expensive gas and do NOTHING. land of the pussies, home of the brainwashed… \n\nIf you read this far congratulations, you can consider yourself well informed. \n\nWhen you start to entertain the truth you will see it everywhere.

Why don't they get organized like this and go against there own country mexico is rich the government there has so much money if they can get together like this than they should do it to get there government to give them money food wat the f### and than you here them say viva Mexico when there here how can you say that to a country that treats there own people like animals I'm sorry but we need Trump to come back so he can put the army in our borders cause there nothing here I try to get a job the other day and they told me they only hire Mexicans I'm sorry but Americans first there getting everything section 8 low income housing and we Americans that are here don't get shit I know there hungry but we are too and that's not our problem it's there governments problem don't send Mexico and chille and the rest of them any money if they can't keep there people in line sorry but I'm voting this time go trump
2023-05-23 0
Wow but people was complaining and spanish people were crying about the wall . Thats the best thing he could of done for america. Trump saw this coming. And Biden doesnt want to do right. This isnt right. Its not fair to American citizens. Their government need to do better for their citizens. Period. Americans cant go to other countries talking about we are here illegally no, we are going to jail so why isnt there any repercussions here?
2023-05-22 0
She asked why is this happening, One of the first things Donald Trump did when he entered office was take away funding and change our foreign policies with south American countries, making their citizens lives worse than they already were. For many people leaving them little choice. Some are truely political refugees.
2023-05-19 0
OMG I'm not for trump but Biden is about to leave office and this is what he does American is a dumb ass country
2023-05-18 0
More illegal immigrants coming make food & house, education, healthcare system overwhelmed and everything is rising up prices. Normal Americans life turns into very difficult life. We need God’s help and Lord Jesus Christ we humble ourselves and please give us a good leadership & a good president as Trump.

Your government cares more about Ukraine than it does about Americans! Trump 2024!!!!
2023-05-17 0
I'm Hispanic and I'm against this so bad we could never go to Mexico or Valenzuela and do this or even get citizenship. This is bullshit Biden sucks! Now do YALL UNDERSTAND WHAT TRUMP MEANT. NOW THE COST OF EVERYTHING IS GONNA GO UP AND LESS HOMES FOR US AMERICANS IF THEYRE THAT DESPERATE IMAGINE THEM WITH WEAPONS N VIOLENCE WILL BE NEXT
2023-05-17 0
These are not asylum seekers. They are economic immigrants. They insist on bringing their flags and customs here and don't desire to become Americans. They don't even act thankful to be here. I can't wait till Trump comes back in his rightful spot this year and kicks them out!
