This is actually embarrassing for Canada to allow such a practice of exploring students from foreign countries such as India. I work with a lot of these students at my security job & most of them are not that bright and really lacking communication skills. The Canadian government needs to put a stop to this now.

I'm canadian and I agree, everything is sooo expensive. I keep telling my family but since this is all they are used to, they dont see it. Just the telephone bills are insane. And the fact that there are very few phone companies allows them to set the prices that they want. The cost of food is high because this is a northern country where nothing grows for 7 months. That is why you have China towns, Greek towns, Italian, Portuguese, INDIA , Jewish and other ethnic towns and ethnic communities don't visit small white towns or move to other provinces. Career colleges are a complete rip off, even for domestic students, that’s why no one goes. \n\nHowever, as someone who has been to college and university, it really sucks to see international students suffer with the demands of curriculum. Also, it’s frustrating to be partnered with a student who doesn’t have a proficient grasp of not only the language, but punctuation, and essay writing. I’ve been in groups with international students where I end up doing all the work because their research or writing is unusable. I actually transferred to a university that allowed us to work autonomously. My disdain for group work is that strong. \n\nIt’s a shame, but setting a student up for failure in a legitimate college or university is not fair to anyone. \n\nThe answer may be learning a trade, especially if language skills aren’t up to par.

It’s against the law to discriminate against someone based on their religion in the United States. That would also mean that no law can be passed to allow Sikhs to carry a kirpan anywhere they want because that would mean you’re discriminating against non Sikhs based on their religion.

Now that the students are allowed to work for 37.5 hours officially no more cash in hand work or no exploitation\n\nSo, every cry may not be heard by government but some for sure, I am hopeful for my Indians kids to survive and get them legitimate jobs.

I am transgender and out, basically broke the relationship with my family. I’m living alone in the US as an international student (CN citizen) and suffering from the living cost and tuition even though I have a part-time job, and I’m gonna lose it soon because I have to change my visa to a student visa that does not allow me to work outside of campus. I am thinking about transferring to a Canadian university because I’m poor and lonely without family anyway (lol), and I just can’t resist the temptation of starting my life again in a different place while healing my trauma. Moreover, it’s more immigrant-friendly (note I am still going through a visa change in the US), maybe I will not be in the daily fear of having to go back to China, where is definitely not trans-friendly. But I’m so anxious on the other hand. What if I end up unemployed; what if I run out of money…I’m simply uncertain about how to find somewhere queer-friendly to survive with a secured shelter and money enough for food. I’m sorting everything out…please let me know if you have any similar experiences in Canada. Anything can be very helpful.
