Quebec (montreal): Medical care, any public services rude, irresponsive and bureaucracy sucks n complicated (example: people wait for uncertainty just to renew their driving license), THE CRUELEST THING IN QUEBEC INCLUDING MONTREAL IS MEDICAL SERVICES (my god reminds me of third world countries i have ever been in), they will just ignore you heartlessly even if you have RAMQ (quebec heath care coverage), u have to have family doctor n u have to sign up to get one IN UNCERTAIN TIME, some they get family doctor within 3 years, others 5,7 years so on so forth so uncertain, so if u dont have family doctor u wont get treated, and if u have family doctor u will hve to stick to where your family doctor works at only, and to get appointment at some clinic they will put you on wait for some days or even weeks if u get the availability slots for u, if u got emergency u will wait 8,10,12 or 14 hours in pain. I feel bad for montreal citizen i swear, they r so patient with all of this while the tax is one of highest in canada. \n\nNow for rental (apartment in general), the check is crazy long it takes around 2 weeks just to rent, if u r lucky u will get taken if u r not then the landlord will take others, the 1 year lease means 1 year, so far to my experience in alberta like for example, 1 year lease but minimum period u have to stay usually around 3-6 months n after that u can leave with notice to the landlord to vacate the unit. \n\nBut in montreal, u have to find other person to transfer the lease, n if u found the person like i told u earlier, the landlord will check the person n the approval/ disapproval is by the landlord. I had to stay for one year living like hell cause the neighbors freaking so loud n partying every week end night till dawn. Couldn’t even have good sleep for work, so I called 911 two times, the police couldn’t do anything, yet the landlord n the building management kept on saying that they gave warning etc to that tenant, but they didn’t take any further action toward that, n i know they dont care, they care only for money. When i started to file complaint to the TAL(quebec rental board, they r irresponsive, complicated procedures, n in the end they dont solve any problem, on their site said that renter or landlord has to retain lawyer, the hell they r there for then? \n\nThe apartment building is tiny, tight old, the wall is thin, u can hear everything from your neighbour upstair, downstair n on your side too.. \n\nMONTREAL IS ALSO SO DENSED AND TIGHT, the main road so tight with cars parked on both sides of the road to ways only one lane on each way, cos mostly apartment building they dont provide parking spot, so they have to park on the road side, i feel bad for the bus driver i swear, with snow mounting on both side of the road makes driving bus is just so stressful, almost every neighbourhood looks dirty, trashes, people littering every where. Im Not complaining but that’s what it is, im living in montreal currently for more than one year but im just gonna move out of here lol

I chose the applying for my self option and filled in my parents details (like my parents applied for themselves) and submitted the application from Canada. Will that in any way cause any problem?

The fundamental problem with Canada and this also applies to many other advanced economies is that housing costs have been allowed to skyrocket.High immigration in combination with low interest rates and certain tax breaks and buyer incentives have all combined to cause this.What this means is that the average citizen is now paying too much out of their income in either rent or house repayments and this reduces spending in the rest of the economy and is a relatively wasteful use of capital so wealth creation has also declined.Australia,New Zealand the UK and Netherlands and parts of the US have also fallen into this vortex.

I am a dual citizen. I was born and raised in Canada but eventually moved to the US. I am glad because my pension is now in US Dollars. Both countries have their pluses and minuses. Unfortunately, both countries have horrible leaders. Wokeism and Progressivism are destroying our nations. The rest of the world is laughing at us. Our own worst enemy is our own ways. I've been to Canada a couple of times to Hamilton (outside of Toronto) because my mom's childhood friend from Manchester, UK lives there and I went to the states for a few weeks to Florida, DC and NYC on a massive trip.\n\nWhat struck me is how fit Canadian women are compared to US women. Also, how genuinely friendly and humble Canadians were compared to the brash know it all attitude of Americans. I was really looking forward to America cause I was raised on its culture here in the UK. I know I've not given it a proper chance but I'm not that tempted to go back.\nI travelled a lot with my family growing up but only in the US have we ever felt like we could be in danger. Not great.\nAnd that racial segregation is pants. It's disgusting, really.

I recall in the 80's, transferring from the bus to the train was free in Canada... NY, the late 90's. No matter your ethnic group... there is a white person living in the same region as black and brown people. There is no divide. LGBT community were able to live free without fear, hand in hand. The fashion, extraordinary. Asian cuisine downtown, to die for. The tap water is that good cause of how proficiently Canada removes snow off the ground, unreal. I agree, I was born and raised here, unless you speak the language, have a good education, its puts you behind the 8 ball if you want to stay here. Why? Because the cost of living is too high, Why? Because our gov. let foreign powers come into out country and flip our real estate to make fast profits and that drives up the rents and costs of housing to the point that you cannot afford to live here, period. The only way that you can do it is to team up with other families and all live in the same place and slowly build up your education, job skills and income to a point where you can afford to live and get a place of your own, thats the way they did it in my parents time and it seemed to work, but when you have a gov. that all they can think about is their climate control BS and to raise the carbon taxes, interest rates causing inflation, causing prices to go up on everything it becomes a losing battle. So unless you are prepared to work two or three jobs, don't even think about it, because now its next to impossible to do unless you have someone supporting you on your climb to the top. In Canada we need health care workers and that could be nurses, doctors, health care aids, psw's, dsw's and physiotherapists, in some provinces they give free courses to get these jobs and you end up getting good wages like min. 25.00 per hour to start and all the hours you can handle, that means if you work 60 hours a week, you make 1500 a week, now that you can survive on, I know this for a fact because a friend of mine just went through the course and now she is set for life, that was a PSW course, its all up to you, if you want it bad enough, you can have it all. Welcome to Canada.

I've lived In the US all my life. I was fortunate to come across my amazing wife who lives In Vancouver, BC. I was able to travel to Vancouver a lot since 2007 and I love the city. It's very beautiful, the people are decent, the houses are nice (yet expensive) and overall I like it up there. And you can't beat the free healthcare up there. I'm going to be moving from Chicago to Vancouver, BC in about a year cause my wife has had some medical issues and coming to the states won't work financially since she has medical issues already. I'm nervous yet excited. It's not that diverse when It comes to black people but I can get along with anybody. USA has whole neighborhoods that are crappy, Canada has pockets. Edmonton, Alberta, around 2006-2008 was nicknamed Deadmonton, not only cause winter is terrible, but because it had the highest murder rate per capita in all of North America. That said, it is a great city.
