You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. (1 USA Dollar = 1.31 Canadian Dollar).\n\n\nO btw, I love both you hair!!~

Hey. It all about choice. So let’s get it straight. The people who worked hard to build and develop Canada over the last 200 Years and paid their taxes, that’s ok. You however, feel you shouldn’t have to pay your way like Canadians. If you love your Country and the lifestyle, why did you leave it? Again it’s a case of the minority spoiling it for the many Immigrants from all over the world who LOVE CANADA AND APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY CANADA HAS GIVEN THEM. They worked hard to build a life for themselves and their Family. Many of them became wealthy financially and in a personal sense and never expected the Government or anyone to give them a free hand. These people make Canada what it is in spite of people like you. So, leave now and make room for someone else who what’s the opportunity to live in Canada and shall appreciate it. Ho by the way, just remember to leave your Passport here and renounce your Canadian Citizenship, which you obviously do not respect or value. We Canadians shall wish you every success wherever you decide to live. I promise you that I shall never move to your Country and expect a free cup of coffee, never mind a free lunch. The major reason this African women love countries like Canada is because of feminism. They love societies where the men have basically been castrated, they can call police on their husbands or boyfriends and got him thrown out. You need taxes for your hospitals, rads, defence etc. The health care problem is not unoque to Canada. We also have it in the UK. The healthcare system is much much better than in the USA and better than in West Africa. Cost of living is high everywhere. You don't look homeless. Try living in the USA. Canada takes good care of people with disabilities and the elderly if you know how to access it. Free healthcare means free doctor visits it is not only going to the hospital or for specialist visits.

One of the top issues is being black. You don't get a reward or a claim for car insurance unless you get in accident ffs. If you (who ever feels this way) don't see the benefit of paying these bills, nigeria would love to have you guys back I'm sure. High cost of living? Isn't it the same in Lagos? When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.

Please be informed that ALL Western countries and similar societies follow a particular model, so if anyone has lead you to believe that the US is a better place to live than Canada, that is a lie! The very same issues you've mentioned in Canada are probably doubled in the US. People are overworked, underpaid and lately blatantly disrespected particularly people of color. Furthermore, ageism is a theme in the US people are very often let go without notice or provocation and unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to maintain a descent standard of living if you fall prey to this. So, don't believe the hype as a citizen who was born, raised and educated in the US in my opinion melinated people should return to their places of origin and help to sustain their country. This in turn, will help to maintain your culture and the standards of living in which you are used to. If you don't believe me you should check out videos of the high rates of homelessness and crime in nearly every major city in the US!

Very interesting views. I don't live in Canada. My views, high taxes are unreasonable but at the same time it ensures that everyone gets a quality of life especially in terms of health care.
