Whe you're in a different country, the responsibility is yours to know or find out what the laws of the land are. You cannot expect a whole nation of others to suddenly become educated about your religious practices and make way for you . If they do, that great, but it's not their responsibility. Also, having a weapon on you in an environment where others don't will put them at unease and also give you the advantage over them, in case of an altercation. How do they know if you are mentally sane or not and that you will not suddenly use it on them. Most Sikhs are wonderful and very caring people and I'm even sitting with one as I write this, but it's best we keep our religious practices to ourselves and not be in anyone's face with it, especially in a country where people are not so aware of other cultures. If he had to wear it for religious purposes, its his responsibility to have informed the university( which he may have) , but also to insist that they inform everyone else and the police of it, so as to not raise any tensions.

I live in Montreal. Americans come here to party with the legal drinking age being 18 yrs old, instead of the American 21.? Also, youre not obligated to go to a seniors residence when youre older. I was born and raised in Canada. My family immigrated in the 70s. Growing up I was proud to be Canadian but after living in other parts of the world I can tell you, Canada isn't it! \n\nFirstly our Prime Minister is a puppet he works for the Commonwealth and whatever they say goes, they profit off all of your hard work. \nThey keep you sick so you rely on the health care system. Medicate you instead of solving the problem. Doctors are exhausted, rude and over worked, emergency rooms are a disaster and if you book an appointment to see your doctor...be sure you're waiting at least a week. If you go to a walk in clinic you risk getting a doctor that seems like they paid for a fake degree.\n\nYou know when you go to a mall in one town and then hear about a mall in another town that has really cool different things??? Ya, not here! Everything is monopolized! Same stores everywhere you go. there's a mall in Toronto called Vaughn Mills mall, when I was in Calgary they have an exact replica just a different name. Small businesses are hard to keep because everything is so expensive. There needs to be more indoor things for people to do in the winter. \n\nWhoever said Canadians are polite, has never been to Alberta!!!! I've never experienced racism in my life like I did out west, not just Alberta but also Northwest Territories and Manitoba. \n\nOn top of that they want everyone to be gay and not believe in God, they push the agenda so hard in the schools, they institutionalize and confuse your kids. And because they're not involved the children have no respect for their elders or teachers. the teachers don't care to get involved like they used to because everything's a liability...a problem. We had a 13 year old girl call a male teacher a pedophile for pushing a little girl on the swing. He quit on the spot, because now he's worried for his career. I’m moving out few years agoes out of Canada and so happy indeed living in ?? so much freedom depending wich states you want to live freedom on money , health benefit , outdoors indoors activities etc…Canada it’s an empty country, empty land too cold and depress living and please check the population of Canada only worth one states (Texas)USA population. Canada only need immigrants to build their country and in terms of Govn professions their are very selective and it’s hard to get through if your immigrant unless your a scientist or engineers still yiu need to move to other parts of Canada to get hired . I Was born in Canada and I agree and disagree with some points you've mentioned. How can you come to Canada and not expect to wear a jacket ? lol... The price of living is going up all over the world, the last 6yrs has become very pricey in all western countries. Hospitals are overrun in major cities in Canada that's very true, but not in smaller locations. Boring (are you crazy ? lolol) I completely disagree. You just don't know where to go lol ... however everything you do in Canada cost money ?. And I completely agree when you mention that Canada won't allow you to become filthy rich (very disappointed about that one) ... There is racism, but not just from the predominant Canadians. There have been many times when the racism is from someone new to Canada. But i also know as a black person i will experience this anywhere in the world. I was born in canada (Montréal ) and never left this country. I thought about maybe moving to Nigeria or Brésil one day. But I’m way too comfortable living here. This country is awesome. \n\nI think that those 2 woman are just boring period. You have to try new things, \n\nTry skiing during the winter. Do some yoga. That would be a sad place to live, because there will come a time when you get older you need something paid for because you can't work sun up to sun down, if most of your money is going to taxes it is hard to get ahead one would have to take some money and pay for land outside of the country to have a place to go one day in order to live, but I thought that place was a part of England rule, maybe that is why taxes are so high.

one thing you don't understand. Canada was a great country before the massive amounts of immigrants came. There has always been immigration but since 2000 its been too much and at some point things were bound to break and that time has come. I was born there, left when i was 22.... you guys can have it!

I have no intention of leaving but everything you guys said is 100% true. There isn’t enough things to do for recreation here. And the places we do have for recreation are hours away. Niagara Falls, canadas wonderland, great wolf lodge, CNE. They’re all in the boonies and you can only get to them if you have a car but even then they’re expensive and you still need to drive 1-2 hours back home. Unless you live close to these establishments going to these places happens 1-2 times in a whole year. It’s really a shame because even though they’re expensive I really love going to these places. If I can change one thing about my country I’d say we need tons more recreation spots. We really just live to work at this point and it’s not fun.

Yes the racism is very high here. \nMany people come here for a better life but that is very hard to find now days in Canada. Governments here, on every level have let Canadians down . They stopped investing in affordable housing. They haven’t provide enough placement for education of medical staff over decades and now we don’t have enough nurses and doctors. \nWe need better educated voters but of course they don’t put enough money into education. Most of the western countries are fashioned same way. I have similar difficulty on moving to UK few years ago, but now singing a different song. No one get rich by working 9 to 5, the system is designed to keep majority in the middle class, it depends on how you structure your life, in order to break that cycle. Taxes keep society running, it keeps public institutions working. Life is not easy, you get what you create.

It is best not to have high expectations about any country. No country is heaven and all together rosy. But I can say Canada is one of the best places to live in at this time. Some other western countries are even more challenging to live in. It is generally lonely when living abroad. it is not just unique to Canada alone.Nigeria is not any better. It is all about budgeting and not living beyond your means.

As a kenyan living in the UK for the past 7 yrs ,i came into conclusion that theres something not right about nigerians living abroad, among all africans ive met here in England, its only nigerians that never loves their country compared to other africans, ive met south africans ,cameroonians ghanians ugandans malawians liberians and Gambians all of them are proud of their respective countries and they tend to go back whenever they get the opportunity, i inclusive i do go back to kenya like every december coz i just cant stand being in the UK the entire year without going back home for a couple of weeks ...when it comes to nigerians ive met over here theres something always off, they hate their country sooo much to an extent one told me nigeria is a country in ICU ,some even told me they can set foot in africa but not nigeria..so nigerians tell me wats soo bad about your country that you tend to run away from it, even in my home country kenya there are estates designated for nigerians..Besides i prefer being in UK than in north america coz of the distance i cant imagine being in US or canada coz of the flight hours ,they're sooo far away from my country i love it in the UK coz its closer to home and i dont need connecting flights in most cases when going to kenya.

Funny how you mention the weather for most of the provinces, but don't mention it at all for the number one province of Quebec? As a born and raised Montrealer, I think it has some of the worst weather in the country! Super hot and humid in the summer and lot's of mosquitoes, and then two months of temperatures below -10 C.

I am always kinda of shocked when talking to people and finding out that they have never really lived outside of the place they grew up. It's really hard to have any appreciation or perspective on culture, cities, and people, if you have never really spent anytime in other places. Travel even within your own country can be illuminating even more so when you leave the red colour country on the map to a different colour country.\n The one thing that is nice about the country of Vancouver is you can always come back and it will probably be very similar to what you left. A lot of (new) Canadians can't say that.

Canada's Cost of living is Joke compares to here in Sri lanka an Average Srilankan Salary is 200$ per month but 1 liter petrol cost more than 1$ imagine how hard it is live here in Sri lanka not only that we import 90% things foreign Countries so Food,Electronics, etc are unimaginably Expensive for example our Government is adding 300% Tax for Vehicles .even though I'm earning 6000$ per month its still not enough for my needs I have to pay like 60000$ to get Canadian Visa But I don't wanna disrespected by some Racist scumbags I'll do anything against people who disrespected me untill they say sorry to me because to me Respect is Everything in My country we Respect Every one we still have Scumbag Human being they are like less than 1% . your Information is very useful for me I'll never come to Canada I was ready to get the Canadian Visa thank you for saving me

Canada is still one of the world's best countries to live in.

The truth is that if Nigeria doesn’t get better, even the few that said they will return back home will never return. Cos if you plan to come back in your old age, have you forgotten that old age is a time when you desperately need good health care to ensure you live a healthy life? who will provide that good health care if you are in Nigeria? So I tell you people, if this country Nigeria don’t do better, no one will be returning. Cos you can’t work all your life in the US or Canada only to retire to a shit hole country to die, no one will do that.
