What an insult for those who had to go through the lengthy and complicated process of legally immigrate to Canada like myself.

This pisses me off cuz they make it harder from for everyone else tryna get in legally through the system ???

As legal emigrant in USA, if the border being open for 2-3 more years, you going to see the results, im not talking only us Canada border, for Europe too. Everything not going but running downhill,most of the illegal emigrant not paying taxes.I bust my ass in heavy construction and get food in cooler and can’t support myself and family, because everything is expensive, us citizens first . In Quebec we already have over 40000 of these illegals living on government checks, taking space during a housing crisis, taking healthcare when the system is overloaded, sending their children to overloaded schools (Relative to the numbers of teachers) with them not contributing at all... they are making it harder for people to have families during a period of low birthrates. Even legal migrants aren't contributing to key jobs, they come here, try to get elite positions and cry about racism when they don't get them, go to university with the help of the government while most natives cannot even dream of higher education.\n\nMass migration in Canada is an epic failure in a time when we aren't supposed to mess up.

In my opinion , this is very unfair for us Filipinos who tried and want to migrate in Canada, wherein we have to apply legally, spend a lot of dollars and gather our documents just to be accepted in the country or a visa, especially for International students.

Idk. I can’t knock their decision that’s for sure. My whole life I’ve wished my grandparents had kept on walking north. They did it legally but if only they’d kept walking north toward reasonable access to healthcare and fewer mass shootings. You know this might actually work out well for Canada. Despite what xenophobic people would have one believe, most of these people are some of the hardest working, law abiding citizens you’ll ever meet.

They may detain them temporarily but seeking asylum is legal, except the US where they put migrants in cages. Hence why they're flooding our boarders.

I’m an immigrant who entered legally but overstayed my time. I got a job and pay taxes. I’m not about leeching off a country. I just came from a 3rd country in search of a better life and opportunities that my country doesn’t have.

As a Canadian who immigrated here legally a long time ago, it's upsetting to see illegals entering like this. We need to control our borders.

I have any friends who are from other countries were trying to get their family members here legally through the legal process and it takes them literally 10 to 20 years and to allow people to just walk across the border and hand them work permits, hotel rooms and checks to support them is a disgrace.. these people for the most part do not speak, read or write English, whereas my friends families, for the most part do speak ,reading write English and a good part of them have college degrees who could contribute quite a bit of this country, but are not allowed to come here immediately.. these people should be allowed to come here immediately as it being sponsored have a place to stay and contribute…

We can all have our own factories and business and exploit cheap labor flocking to our Great Country. We must use this to our advantage while it lasts. \nCheap labor we can Build houses that are affordable. Fix all the infrastructure we have been crying about. \n \n5. If War we're ready! \nIf we ever have another World War first one to go are minorities and poor people so, not only does it provide us with a bigger army, but you might not be first to get drafted. Not only that but because we have immigrants we would have stronger ties to those immigrant countries which can come in handy later. Actually USA should be the one which should get point for politics and religion. Having legal substance, less religiosity or killing babies along with non stable governmental system is not something to take pride of .

I have witnessed 1st hand people crossing our Canadian border on the coast and they just wait until the RCMP bring a Limo to pick them up. I welcome anyone who goes through the process of legally immigrating. Our Ukrainian friends, Afghan's who were left behind or Syrian's. We are countries of immigration, but to just allow them to crash through is wrong.

Sadly those attempting legal entrance into Canada are ignored and illegals are put to the head of the line. Only in Canada. This only shows that Canadian leadership is totally inept.

The people crossing into Canada illegally aren't refugee's. They stopped being refugee's when they came into the USA because they were then safe. They are picking and choosing with Canada. Ship them all back across the border to their own countries. They want to come to the USA then they can do it legally like the millions of others that have come before them.

Meanwhile legal immigrants are suffering extended delays in their applications and extensions, many of which already have jobs or have employment waiting for them in Canada. Many are forced to return to their original countries because the immigration system in Canada is so backlogged. Oh, and FYI we have a countrywide housing crisis too.

Make it in legal way its unfair to the temporary worker, student, tourist who wait & pay at the immigration office just to get an approval when they arrive here in Canada they buy food, rent a house and work to sustained their daily cost of living!

Trudeau needs to shut this border crossing already. It is so hard and competitive already to find an apartment or house to rent, there are canadians suffering and waiting on the central housing list here for years and guess who keeps moving to the front of the line taking the spots, these people who are put up in hotels, given food, money, and citizenship, also all while the people who are trying to immigrate legally have to pay and wait, it's not fair for them. I love different cultures but this needs to be done legally, things are already rough for a lot of canadians and this is just going to continue to strain the system.

This problem needs to be solved by punishing the countries that send these migrants without any check. And meanwhile, the process for legal immigration needs to be mainstreamed.

My issue with the Canadian government is how slow they are at processing work permits. It makes more sense to process them in a timely fashion so they can obtain legal jobs and pay taxes, instead of sitting in limbo receiving government support waiting for our government to get crap done. However it wouldn't be the Canadian government if they did things efficiently and at less expense to the tax payer.

It's illegal to ask for asylum at a legal border crossing.\n\nThe only way to legally ask for asylum when crossing from the usa to canada, is to cross in this manner.\n\nAs per the safe 3rd country treaty.

As much as I criticized Harper and Trump for being tough on immigration, this is the kind of illegal crossing that should make it a crime to not only cross illegal crossing but to punish anyone who helps, if they want asylum so bad, do it the legal way, at a airport or a legal border crossing

Both US have negative birth rates and job openings. That's what the real problem is. Limited access to Legal Immigration. No immigration is economic suicide for both countries. Many small businesses are opened by immigrates. They bring skills and money. America creates the drug war for drugs and appetite for drugs in US, then doesnn't want to accept asylum seekes fleeing from the choas.
