I left Canada in 2019 for Uganda and couldn't be happier. I too was in that cycle of working to earn enough money, to pay my bills so that I could afford to keep working! \n\nWhen my parents were just married in 1968, they earned between them $14000. In one year, my Mom was able to save $10,000 because the expenses were so low. Then, they bought a house worth $26,000. Those days of working to save are almost gone unless you have a very in demand job.

Tax is alot but it pays for people who come here(migrants)and take money from the government for free and the lazy natives.

So true. We are so heavily taxed here in Canada, especially Quebec. The government has so much money in the bank that they kept overdoing those street roads, highway and even bike path again and again. They are wasting our money more than ever. And more than ever, there' s also a lot of homeless people on the street , because they'd use that kind of excuses not to give them their unemployment insurance benefits after loosing their job , but would force them to get welfare assistance instead. where the money is barely enough to pay for their monthly groceries and that`d leave them to make a choice between their rents or to go hungry.

That would be a sad place to live, because there will come a time when you get older you need something paid for because you can't work sun up to sun down, if most of your money is going to taxes it is hard to get ahead one would have to take some money and pay for land outside of the country to have a place to go one day in order to live, but I thought that place was a part of England rule, maybe that is why taxes are so high.

I studied in Canada, but I disappointed by the racism in the professional world especially the well paying government jobs…it was like a syndicate where Chinese will push for a Chinese to be hired, whites do the same, Indians do the same…the rest of the other races like blacks, Iranians, Arabs etc you have to literally have to fight your way into the system…you have to prove and kiss peoples feet to get hired….I just packed my bags and left Canada..

Hi, I am canadian born and I totally agree with what you are saying. I am from quebec however and here you can chose to see a private physician if you have the $ to pay for it. Also Montréal definitely has more of a party and fun vibe than any other city I have visited. BUT over all I totally agree. I love your insight!

healthcare is only free if you dont work. If you work and you pay 40% in payroll taxes you are actually paying $1500 per month via your paycheck

I pay 38 percent in income tax alone and am a blue collar middle class and we have federal tax and provincial tax on everything I live in one of the most expensive provinces and pay 15 percent taxes on everything . I pay 950 dollars a month on rent in what uses to be a lower income part of the city and gentrification is driving Rents in formerly low income neighborhoods .

If you people came to the UK or countries in Europe you would cry. I just looked at canadian tax brackets they are so so great compared to the UK we pay 45% just at any amount earned over 50K pounds

'Free Healthcare in Canada'. I can't stand those words. Healthcare here is Canada is NOT FREE. We pay incredibly high taxes for that healcare, in most cases the extra taxes you will pay per month are way higher than if you were to buy your own private coverage. Most Canadians are exceptionally slow witted with money though and they can't figure out that once they pay income, gst, pst, sin, fuel, carbon, property taxes and on and on, you lose WELL OVER 50% of your income to the government. If you ask a Canadian what they pay in tax they will state their income tax, their brains can't comprehend the entire scope of being ripped by the government

You are right ladies , I’ve been living here for 4 years , the health care system is messed up, you have to wait several months or over a year to get an appointment with a specialist, taxes are very very high , you need to have 2 jobs to be able to pay for expenses , I was in college our teacher told us ( we were like 30 students ( his kids were born and raised and Canada and they moved to England and get a better job $$$ and they left , the teacher at the end told us become citizens and go …… to USA , I have 2 jobs and I’m paying taxes like a crazy , I can’t handle that anymore is affecting my mental health

I'm a blk American born and raised and l have serious interest in moving to Canada. Since my people are from the US this is all l know so Im acclimated to the racial climate of the states. A lot of your cons are the same issues many face in the states. Taxes are crazy cost of living is insane wages are stagnant and you basically live to work. I live in Minnesota which is not far from the Canadian border but originally from New Jersey so I'm used to the cold. The health care system is sh*t here. Noone really has money to pay privately that's why our care is funded by employers. At the current moment there is also a shortage of medical professionals so often times you still have to wait months for appointments but you know what l would rather wait and have my taxes pay for my doctor then go into medical debt. My biggest issue with America is you pay all these taxes and reap nothing at least in Canada you can kinda see where the money is going.

Coming from the UK, I am emphatic to the issues of high cost of living, the struggle to build wealth and overwhelming healthcare system but paying tax for essential services is not the problem, you should be paying into the system to help those that struggle to support themselves due to low wages and you also can benefit from these services. Nigerians can sometimes come with the same mentalities of classism and not wanting to pay into system even when they can afford it and still be very comfortable. If the economic system at the very least supported all Nigerians kids going to school and if this was supported by tax, Nigeria would be in a better place too

Moving to Canada seems like a fantastic idea but it’s a trap. Immigrants are enticed into the county with all of these promises of free healthcare, freedom and entrepreneurship. It’s all a lie. high taxes to pay for “free”poor healthcare not to mention the governmental overreach and political corruption. You become enslaved. I grew up there and I never want to go back. Canada is a playground for the rich people of the world. If you're a migrant worker. The government has jobs and plan that pay just enough to keep supply of cheap labour circulate in Canada . In the U.S. your vacation time depends on your employer. Very rarely are people getting a month off. 2 weeks is average, and alot of companies make you accrue days per pay period. So it can take you a full year to gain alll of your vacation time. So imagine that.

Here in the UK we only pay 40% tax if you earn over £100,000. The average wage is a lot lees than that. So the average person pays just 20% tax. And VAT is 20% as well.

This video for privileged people, not people struggling to survive. In a country like Nigeria, a PhD holder is applying for trucking driving job and secondary teaching job. They would be grateful to move to Canada for a befitting job and will be excited to pay tax. Many with good educational background don't even have any job at all. At least Canadian government takes taxes and provide good infrastructure. In Nigeria, the government takes your tax and nothing works, no jobs, no security, no healthcare, no good roads or infrastructure. It's difficult to travel inter state without being kidnapped. Your family sells all your properties and pay the ransom but still be killed. You can even be gunned down in your house or on the street just for next to nothing. All my relatives in Canada are happy with their families and are begging me to come. Even people with good jobs are moving to Canada. They're not doing it for themselves for the future of their children, for peace of mind, security and to escape poverty. \n\nIf you're in doubt please move back to Nigeria then you will know Canada is heaven. Many have resorted to prostitution and crime because they believe they don't have any other way to survive.
