I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! This is little to do with ( Indians) , as an ozzy, we have had 3 consecutive years with the Einsteins in office letting 3 times as many immigrants into the country, Whilst we have a housing crisis. Stop immigration services, or bring highly educated people only

Nobody need immigrants only cheap labor. This globalization creates high costs of living that cannot pay any workplace. That's only reason why all countries asking for immigrants. 12 years in Canada worked hard but this is far away from good life. Many issues mentioned apply to anybody not just foreigners, anybody in germany hates it equally. There are many topics from immigration, language, housing, healthcare, schooling, etc. that are ill-managed in my opinion and that creates a lot of tension in society. Todays politicians are mostly a highly overpaid joke, disconnected from reality.

Germany sees itself as extremely tolerant and remarkably generous to non-whites, but the general sentiment clearly goes against immigration from non-European cultures. What skilled workers and highly qualified professionals experience in Germany today, is already the best they can ever expect. Much is going to change in the coming years, but certainly not in favor of immigrants who don't look white.

They need skilled immigration and they take unskilled immigration, which instead of adding to the budget will draw from it. Where is the sense and logic in that? For many years, Germany drained Poland and other post-communist countries of skilled workers, then the difference in the standard of living between the West and the East of Europe was huge, today it has decreased to the point that people prefer to live with dignity among their own people. Now Poland has become a country accepting immigrants from the East, the language is similar so it is easy to learn, the culture is similar, the standard of living is good and the streets are safe. Germany is no longer as attractive to skilled workers as it used to be, the cost of living is high and you can get stabbed in the liver on your way to work.

I immigrated to Canada in 1992 from Eastern Europe and had job in high tech which enabled me to move to US in 1998. \nEven though I went back on occasions to Canada to visit friends, had no idea that things changes for worst so much over years. I saw cost of living and housing going up there, but after reading comments here honestly I am in shock. My wife always regretted leaving Canada which we used to call our second home, but after reading here we seem made a right decision back then…

The problem is that before we had a population with balanced skills and education—some high skilled, some labour focused, some low skilled. Why some skilled immigrants are leaving germany? I have many friends who did that- IT, finances, etc. 1. Very high taxes and thus net salaries comparable to Eastern Europe. A senior dev in Bulgaria gets 2000-3000 NET. After taxes in Germany, well, he will get a little less. 2. Cost of living in Germany is much higher- rents, energy(because of green policies and taxes), services(because of costly labor), etc. \nImagine a budget of 1000-1500 eur to give you a nice apartment(400-500), bills, food and bars/restaurants 1-2 times per week. With a net salary of 2500 eur(average for qualified jobs in the capital) you can save 1000 eur or more with ease. With almost no illegals security, standard of living, etc is close to german. That is why qualified bulgarians do not go to Germany anymore. The racism against Germans that is so openly expressed in the comments here is unbearable. Yes, there are some bad people in Germany (basically in any country on this planet, unfortunately) who are themselves racist or discriminatory. But that is by no means the majority of Germans. I have lived here for decades and have met the most warm-hearted people. From the comments I rather gather that many who come to Germany simply extremely overestimate the demands they can (and may) make of Germany (or pretty much any other immigration-friendly country). If you come to Germany it is obvious that you have to learn German (or the local language). That is the case everywhere, including France, Italy and Korea - you name it. And if you can't do that straight away that's okay too, most Germans speak English and are very forgiving when it comes to language learners. Nobody shouts at you for not knowing German. Furthermore, Germans are very direct and don't care much about artificial and feigned friendliness. What you see is what you get. And I think that's honest and quite refreshing. \n\nThe thing is, YOU have to approach Germans and can't just expect them to roll out the red carpet for you just because you think they are in need of your workforce. The simple truth is: the standard of living in Germany is very high. The culture is diverse, and anyone who doesn't recognize this should broaden their horizons. Cities like Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart and Hamburg are beautiful, extremely multicultural and anyone who describes them as 'dull' will probably not feel at home in any city on this planet. The people are also nicer than many non-germans claim - that's obvious, because if that weren't the case, Germany wouldn't be the most popular country to immigrate within Europe amongst immigrants. Of course there are problems on the German side too. Bureaucracy, language barriers and discrimination. But they definitely don't deserve the unreasonable racism they face here in the comments. You can't criticize Germans for their alleged discriminatory behavior by unreasonably attacking and generalizing Germans themselves. Anyone who approaches Germans with prejudice and racism should not be surprised if they do not receive a friendly welcome there...

Before covid and before the mass wave of recent immigration, it was already hard in this town. Like many cities, we lost all the factories a generation ago, rent has always been relatively high, and jobs for working people are very competitive. An average earner in the 90s owned a house and two cars. Today, no chance.

Yet when the prices of housing was going up, many homeowners loved it, even though it meant that the poor, the actual poor and not you lot, were stacked like firewood into smaller and smaller rooms with no AC so it was hot in the summer and freezing in the winter and the slum lords are having a hey day. \nThe actual first nations people are homeless and being killed daily and are arrested for being poor daily but you lot think you have it bad. \n\nSorry, when non first nations people say that they will leave Canada because its not how they remember it when they were kids and its worse now so they will jump ship to gentrify other nations, I just shake my head and hold open the door as you leave the nation and wonder at your arrogance and egoism.

Sorry to say that but Indians are very corrupt, they are trying to cheat any system or any rule. They are the ones behind all kinds of illegal implementations on: Immigration(selling jobs which is illegal), banking system(forging income documents to get high Mortgages from banks), cheating on documents(like fake school letter of acceptances or fake banking statements) and exams(offering to enter exams on behalf of others with a charge). These are not general considerations, I personally am in the know of all these examples myself and I am hearing many others. \nAdditionally they are disrupting the labor market by lowering life standards. To be specific, there are many indians, living 10-20 people in the same home, lowering their life costs, then going to businesses offering for a much lower salaries, hourly wages since their living costs are considerably low. This is not a fair competition, you can not expect people to live in barracks, just to be able to compete. this is disrupting social life.\nThe pooping and these kinds of senitary examples are just the icing on the cake. \n\nFinally, the indian community are not trying to come in to Canada and be a part of the community and the system, instead they are trying to turn this country into India, which they are running from in the first place. \n\nCanadians are nice yes, but any sound person should react accordingly if their kindness is abused. \nOfficial are needed to take actions on this, since I don't expect the Indian comm unity to behave.

The Canadian economy has been going down for a decade+, many businesses have left in the past and are still leaving, Trudeau hasn't made it easy for them either, the remaining NEED cheap labor to survive. They also NEED immigrants to bring in their money, its a big part of their economy, without immigrant money their Universities/Colleges/businesses are going to be many times more expensive even for the local Canadians. I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself.
