I have 2 brothers that live in the US and they both enjoy living there. Yes, the medical is expensive and not as good as Canada's medical plan. But it's also true that you could get in fast all in the US. Hospitals pill to getting in to Canadian hospitals for appointments. For\n Myself, I love, the US has lot of nice cultures. And I Love all the theme parks that you guys have down there like Disneyland and hollywood theme park as well and even Hawaii.

Canada has exposed itself to criminals from various countries starting with India who are manipulating relaxed visa requirements. In addition there are no consequences for crime committed. \n\nAdd to that currently majority of employers are opting to hire students and refugees as it is easy to control behaviours. Provincial and federal governments are complicit and in process subjecting Canadians to hardships. \n\nWith American tariffs are on the verge of being forced on the country which in turn will deteriorate living conditions and as a result may cause chaos.\n\nCanada needs to gets its act together and deport majority of these students and refugees or be prepared to suffer.

As an Indian Immigrant who left recently, here are few tips for Canadians:\n\n1. Controversial but I will say it, Canada is a FRENCH country with English as its second major language. No others language is as prominent, So if you are sure that a brown person is an IMMIGRANT and they can’t even speak ENGLISH properly let alone French, 99% chance he/she is a problem in your country and does labour work.

An average Canadian after compulsory deductions and rent ends up with only 10% as disposable income. In the great capitalist nation of USA after compulsory deductions and rent an average American has 30-40 % income. In addition due to the socialism our per capita income is only 72% of the great capitalist nation of USA. This implies that for every disposable dollar an American has we have only 25 cent. There’s more pride and nationalism projected in this video than real facts. Why do Indians need visas? It’s very simple: Most Indians are more likely to figure out a way to stay abroad once they touchdown abroad. \n\nAmericans, Canadians, Europeans, etc, don’t need visas wherever they go because most of them always return to their countries eventually no matter where they visit and how long they’re away. \n\nCitizens who don’t need visas wherever they go hardly ever leave their own countries for another. It’s really very simple. Just look at Singapore, Switzerland, etc. How often do you see their citizens leave such countries for another? Almost never. That’s why.\n\nIt sounds like she’s trying to make an argument that this rule shouldn’t apply to Indians because India’s economy is powerful. You need to convince this fact to the Indians who are leaving India, because if you can’t even sell this point to those Indians leaving India, then you don’t even have a case.

India is a big country. Indians in America are the highest earning ethnic group for good reason. Their education and employment backs it up. I don’t know about rest of the world but in the US alone, 700,000 Indians entered the country either illegally or overstayed their US visa just last year alone. In Canada, some Indian international students were discovered to have forged their education documents and now have been deported. Temporary workers are demanding permanent residency after work visa extensions have been cancelled due to housing shortages & increasing unemployment rate. \n\nIndian people in general are good workers but these protest aren’t helping and demanding they be allowed to stay while their documents are forged is upsetting Canadians. It unfortunately grouping everyone together.

These students came for an education. You accepted the terms of that student visa and should thereby adhere to those terms. Many countries do offer jobs to international students who excel in their studies if there are available positions in that field that Canadians can not fill. It is Indian recruiters who have sold the residency idea both in India and Canada. It is these recruters that teach them how to defraud our systems and take your money. If you think about it, how many successful companies hire people with strip mall college certificates in high paying jobs.\n\nWho they should be protesting against are their recruiters who sold them this illusion, not our government. There are processes for residency, not privileges.

I'm a Canadian and I live in the US because I can't afford to go home. The only thing I like here is the weather. I consider Americans to be unsocialized, uneducated and paranoid. I have never met an actual country of people with no manners before and I have lived in several European countries. I won't even bother mentioning, health care, the education system or the police. They just reflect the people and flavor of the country.\n\nThe average working people can barely survive as it is and now the politicians are actively trying to kill the lower classes. I consider the US to be a shithole country.

I think the Canadian government has made it far too easy for anyone to immigrate. As an Indian living in India, I can attest that many of us look for the easiest way out and often lack a strong moral compass. Additionally, most of us struggle with adapting to new environments, possibly due to an archaic education system that emphasizes rote learning over conceptual understanding. Many Indians also face challenges with proficiency in the English language.\n\nUnfortunately, Canada’s relatively lenient immigration policies have allowed a significant number of unskilled individuals from India to settle there. Many of these individuals have been reluctant to embrace Canadian culture. Corruption may have played a role as well, with some local Canadian colleges and universities admitting students who lacked merit. Given the extreme levels of corruption in India, this is not surprising.\n\nThe root issue lies in the Canadian government’s lack of strictness and vigilance when formulating immigration rules and policies. Many Indians, frustrated with the current government and financial hardships, seek to leave the country in hopes of a better life in the West. While educated individuals follow proper processes, the uneducated often resort to questionable means. In Canada’s case, this negligence on the part of both governments has had unfortunate consequences.\n\nI hope stricter policies and more accountability lead to better outcomes in the future.

The problem is not international students themselves; the problem lies with students who cheat the system to become international students.\n\nSecondly, no international students are promised permanent residency (PR). There is a pathway to PR, and the government should ensure it is followed. However, if a student's study or work permit expires, they must leave as they declared when applying for the permit. Canada understands that individuals from developing nations may not want to return home, and that is understandable. But the proper process must be followed.\n\nI agree that the Canadian government has made mistakes. However, international students also took advantage of the system, which I can understand. The government should never have allowed international students to obtain work permits so easily. They should have been required to complete their studies, secure a job offer, and only then apply for a work permit. This would be the point at which their PR process could begin.\n\nWhat the government did instead was detrimental to Canadians. By allowing international students to get work permits immediately, bring their spouses, and provide work permits to them as well, they created challenges. Students should focus on studying first, graduating, and then finding a job—just as it used to be.\n\nThe government should create regulations requiring all publicly funded colleges and universities to cap the fees charged to international students. These institutions should only be allowed to charge a maximum of 15% to 25% above the fees for local students. Charging exorbitant amounts was essentially a form of robbery, exploiting international students with the false hope of permanent residency (PR), which is never guaranteed.

Among five eyes countries, Canada is the easiest country for people to migrate to. For example Australia skill migrant program does not accept the flight attendant as the required talent. There is very slim chance that the flight attendant can get the PR through the skill migrant program in Australia. Canada is now getting into the trouble similar to the sub-prime crisis in US 15 years ago: too many people who are not the qualified immigrants arrived to Canada in past 2 years. They are leaving because the minimal hourly wages cannot support their living in the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver. \n2. High income tax ? In UK the top tax bucket is well over 40%. In Australia you need to pay 45% income tax plus 2% medical Levy surcharge\n3. High cost of living? I think the cost of living in London of UK and Sydney of Australia are also exceptionally high. The cost of living affordability depends on the income of the migrants. Low income working class will feel the cost of living and housing pressure. But this applies to all countries, including SF of US, Toronto of Canada, Sydney of Australia, London of UK\n4. Rise in crime: I do not understand this logic as the migrants left Canada to US - the city of LA, New York, Seattle and Chicago are far worse than in Canada \n5. Limited Career opportunities: the only country that has better career opportunities is US. What are the main reasons for those who are not migrating to US?\n\nIn summary, all the above points are not the main reasons. The main reason is the liberal government. Canada had taken a large number of wrong low end migrants in wrong time. When the economic downturn turn comes these are the most vulnerable group of people that should leave Canada.\n\nMany Canadian found that they resolved some of the problems by relocating from city to city ie moved from Vancouver to Calgary. Cheaper house price and cost of living, lower crime rate,etc

As an Algerian registered nurse planning to immigrate to Canada, I'm disappointed with the immigration system. Many skilled professionals like us invest years in education and training, only to face a system that prioritizes quantity over quality. While we aim to contribute meaningfully, we're left hanging, unfairly blamed for issues like housing and cost of living. The misleading ads only add to the frustration.\n\nI hope Canada resolves the immigration and housing crises—not just for future immigrants like me, but because Canadians deserve the best. My brother accepted a tech job with a firm in the US. He always expressed his belief that Canada was not up to the US. He was elated to move to the US. Two years later he limped back to Canada, without his job, and without his love for US culture. He seldom speaks of his time in the US.\n\nThis is not to say that his experience is the experience of every Canadian moving to the US, or that it is even typical, but it was his experience for whatever than counts.\n\nI think that this may be a much different experience for US citizens born and raised in their own culture.

As a Canadian, I see the relationship with Trump as very toxic. Not long ago, we detained under house arrest Meng Wanzhou (Huawei exec) at the request of Trump. He used her as a bargaining chip for trade between the US and China. Remember that? Canada had to do it (to show others that we keep our word when it comes to treaties). In the end, he cancelled the request, after several years and 2 Canadians being arrested in retaliation by China. So we degraded OUR relationship with China... and for what? They use student visas as a pathway to work permits and eventual permanent residency. Many refuse to assimilate or respect Canadian culture and values, creating tensions with the Canadian public. This has led to growing xenophobia, political pressure to tighten immigration policies, and resulting in international students across the board facing deportation after their studies. \n \nIn Singapore (where I'm from), we’ve also observed a similar trend over the years. Individuals from India often enroll in short, diluted, and overpriced postgraduate diploma programs designed primarily to attract indian foreigners. These programs serve as stepping stones to secure student visas and, eventually, local jobs. While many return home after a few months without success, those who secure jobs often refuse to assimilate. Instead, they create workplace tensions to drive out the locals, and once they got onto managerial positions, often conduct preferential hiring towards people of their own ethnicity / village. \n \nThis trend must stop. \n\n1. Someone who has a desired skill, and are ready embrace other cultures, should apply work visa. \n2. Someone who is a scholar, or geniunely wishes to study in foreign university, should apply student visa. \n3. Someone who is a mediocre opportunist who wants a quick backdoor to a job or permanent residency in other country, should not disguise themselves as a student. \n \n\nNot that hard.

I believe that lack of health care in the U.S. stops many Canadians from even considering moving and working in the U.S. It may take longer to get medical care and treatment in Canada, but everyone is entitled to it. About 30 yrs ago we all paid into it, at our jobs. Not anymore. I believe employers may still be paying into it, but I think now it is just paid for with our taxes. So even people that do not work or are retired, each and every person is allowed it - if you live here.\nThere is also some Dental Care provided for some Children. Very recently,free Dental care is provided for people over 65. It is very new, so I do not know a lot about it yet. Quebec’s imposition of “French B-2 permit in language proficiency” has dented chances of Int’l students opting to study in Montreal ..\n\nIn short : “Welcome to Canada” has been severely misused by Indian students / and lousy refugee policy of Canada has further undermined legitimacy of Int’l students ..
