I hate to admit but its true that good number of indians are desperate to relocate to eu, us au etc...one of my colleague who came from US was in 2013 crying that his child's you tube video does not buffer.. how will he suvive here in India???..

One reason for this is pseudo journalists like Palki who keep trumpeting the ruling party line about India's achievements instead of telling the truth. Indians are practically running from India unable to face the galloping unemployment and poverty. But who wants needy people? Naturally the visa rejection rates have gone up.

Do Indians higenic in their own country and abroad?\nDo South Indians welcome north indians in their states ?\nThe one who goes abroad for study do small part time jobs, will they do the same thing in India ?\nAlmost 50% of Indian students study on subsidies which is a tax payers money, do they wish to contribute back by working in India?\n\nIf answer to all these is NO why would any other country will welcome you ? Is it government' false ?\n\nIf we are saying Indian middle class is growing in numbers then how could a bad economy policy will grow this numbers, If the polocies are so bad number of poor people would have raised in numbers

Saw one video from Germany and I myself was shocked by looking at the behaviour of Indians. People from North India and Andhra especially need to learn and need serious training on these lessons.

The headline is misleading - suggests India is rejecting visa applications. Anyway, reality is India, and the Modi government’s priority, is to ensure Indian intake into foreign countries increases substantially. This is due to the lack of jobs and resources locally. The bigger issue is fraudulent applications. The Australian government blacklisted student applicants from Punjab, Gujarat, Bihar and 3 other states for high proportion of fraudulent applications. Sadly, after Narendra Modi visited Sydney when a Quad meeting was called off but Modi still travelled, Gujarat was removed from the blacklisted states. One fraud leading to another fraud. That is the core DNA of the country and the genuine applicants too suffer.

It's not about being the world's 5th largest economy. It's about reputation in the society and honesty India has lost it, due to its damaged law system, uneducated people spitting around pan masala and guthkha, dropping garbage from balconies on the street, raping and murdering women and also doctors, and at the end no one is getting justice. The world knows everything

You need to explore the fraudulent ones too and not just blame other country's visa process which is the same for people from non-indian origins. The actual issue is much more complex. More foreign workers can destabilize and harm their own people's opportunities as well. May be we should explore why indians are trying to leave india so badly and address those problems first.

Many Indian people go to Canada on student visas and never report to the college. They end up as illegals in the USA and Canada. They come from one specific region of India. This hurts the Indian passport ranking.

Coz More and More Indians apply for visa so More and More Visa get denies ..... All Visa if given to one country then what about others. Plus pls. check Indians Travel History.... we all know what they do. why Indian Govt. dont takes action on Fraud visa agents in India? and India will take back them all Dunkys? who Believe that after landing they will not apply Asylum?

Palki, I'm a huge admirer of your journalism. Being a proud Indian and living in NZ from a decade I can say it's not just the equality.\nThe amount of frauds we do in our visa application just to enter a foreign land, I can speak on behalf of NZ, makes it difficult for the next batch of applications coming from that region.\nI won't label that with racism because every country has the right to protect its borders. NZ, Aus in particular has a strong and proud Indian diaspora with more and more Indians successfully coming in every year. But we India as a large population has one of the most number of applications which also increases the chancesl of rejection.

@3:30: Burkino Faso, Kosovo and Cuba have tiny populations. Even if their entire population migrated, the locals in the country receiving them would hardly notice any difference. Not so with India and its 1.5 billion population, many of whom want to migrate only because the neighbour's/aunt's/uncle's son also went abroad. Announce a liberal visa regime for Indians one day, and within a year, your country would start looking like Chandigarh or Ahmedabad. While most countries are ok with some diversity, no one wants to be overrun by foreigners, even if the foreigners in question are Indians who are generally law abiding and hard working. And then there are the 'smarter ' types who fake documents and produce bogus certificates to get visas and even pay human smugglers to take them abroad if their visas are rejected. It's for all these reasons why India's passport is ranked at 85. The only reason why India doesn't fall even further is because there are bigger basket cases like India's 'friendly' neighbors who are sitting tight below.\nIf India wants equitable treatment, it should first make itself the best place in the world for an Indian to live and work in. The more you rely on the others for visas, the more likely they are to refuse you.

Palki why not do some due diligence…research before wasting five minutes and 20 seconds on defending a position. The largest number of overstayers in the UK are Indians….not Burkina Fasosns or Cubans. West London has about 15000 students…who speak so poor English that one fails to understand how they understand lessons in English! They work as waiters at the wedding venues and fast food outlets. \nI found them doing the same in Sydney. They are 18 year old….if they attend any college…it is not a university..but community colleges! What higher education are they going to get there that wasn’t available in India. They don’t have funds to eat two meals a day and end up in Temples and Gurudwara everyday. They fill containers for the next meal too. Their public behaviour and lack of etiquette causes resentment in local population.

I think its proportional. india has the largest population and that explains the situation. India will be empty if the visa is given to every one :)

I live in Canada. A citizen now, love this country but India is and will always be a home. Canada is facing hard times currently, which is being faced by every country now and then but even the cause root of all these problems Canada is facing right now is coming from somehow from India. The most disruptive and disturbing people are here from India only with no civic sense. They come here and do not value the Canadian culture at all. They do all sort of illegal activities and try to do jugaad in everything, from which we escaped from India. Even on political grounds, the man who somehow messed up everything was under the influence and pressure of the man having Indian roots. I love India without a doubt but we can’t deny the real facts why Indians are being hated everywhere. People in my community here ( whites, First Nations, old Indians) love me and my family because they know how we respect the culture and values and laws of Canada. But there, where people don’t know us personally, we get judgemental eyes because of our colour and we know why, it’s not all of us, but still majority of us have destroyed the image of India and yes Indians deserve to be banned now. We need skills and knowledge and we should class apart from the stupid ones.

One of the biggest reason that no one talking and not even Palki - free visa access is reciprocal. How many countries have visa free access to India? Hardly 3 or 4. India need to open its arm first

Good news and many north indians are taking aslyum in europe and america on tourist and business visa, if such activity is increasing then other country can take any actions. India doesn't have aslyum facility and no one want to take Aslyum in infia???

Other countries are full they need to look after there own people they cant afford to be flooded with migrants from other countries and lets face it india has billions of people and most trying to get out . One word best explains the issue : overpopulation. South Asia experiences this problem across the board, merely examine the gdp per capita of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan and you’ll get your answer.

India is a country of many culture and different language, do not generalise every one as Indian, certain section of the people are causing the nuisance here and they are speaking very loud in the bus, in the restaurant they do not follow the hygiene, it's just a section of people coming from India in masses...

Deport them all even the ones that have been here for the past ten to twenty years. And have Canadians run the government not people from India. I don't see any Canadians running the government over in India or any other country for that matter.

In all the news coverage you seem to see over representation from one particular state in India. I wonder why? They go there and not only oversaturate the market, but are campaigning for their own country back home. Also, thanks a lot for ruining international travel for the rest of us. I no longer visit western countries because I don’t want to receive the “intending immigrant” treatment.

They are indians in usa, I don't understand why they needed visa if they are NRI they should have indian passport and if they have usa passport and have renounced indian citizenship, why did they not apply for OCI. i guess they never planned to come to india that often and this is just an one of affair so they didn't bother to get the OCI. Idiotic in my opinion, if god forbid they get in any trouble with the general hostility towards indians growing especially in USA, they should keep the option to just pack up and leave without all this visa issues on a moments notice.

I've written similar comments elsewhere that were automatically deleted by the person who posted the video, and I found that disheartening. I first want to address the rumour about human feces and dirty diapers being found on Canadian beaches, and I want to stand up for the people who called out Indians for doing this. Somebody saw something. Maybe they weren't able to produce any legal proof of it, but they clearly saw something, and there is nothing racist about them calling out this behaviour. This practice is not only unhygienic. It is ILLEGAL in Canada; so, it absolutely should be called out publicly to prevent it from ever happening again. I have seen many videos about the culture of mass open defection in India. The videos I saw were posted by Indians themselves. One of those videos was a TEDx talk done by a woman named Sangita Vyas who discussed the truth about open defecation and that it is not limited to only the poor population. Even people who can afford to build latrines are not using them, and she explains why after interviewing Indians to ask why. I've watched Indian doctors talk online about how many Indian children die from something as simple as diarrhea every year as a direct result of the water contamination caused by open defecation. So, clearly, open defecation is legal in India, and perhaps some of these people think if it's legal at home then it must also be legal elsewhere. WRONG. It's illegal in Canada. It's unhygienic. It should never happen. Period. And there is NOTHING racist about a Canadian saying this out loud and reminding people that they must follow the rules and laws of the country they are in.

I don't care what anyone says, but Indian people, particularly (Punjabs) don't like to mixed with other cultures at all. They don't integrate with the Canadian lifestyle. They don't worked very hard, they are rude, they have no respect for other nationalities, racist as fuck, and the list goes on. I have been living in Canada for 34 years and I have never once felt isolated. Now, I feel like Canada has become India. I'm sorry, Trudeau have turned this Canada into a 3rd world Country. Canadian's are forced out there apartments, then they rent them at a higher price to people from India they get more for rent. We don't see anyone from other countries living on the streets it's Canadians who built this country . Nova Scotia CP party let in 118,000 people in our tiny province , we are getting pushed out of our apartments while the people from India have a spot to live.. They just come here to work ,, Canadian'se don't like to work the lower end jobs. I rather see a Tim's close up , and a fast food resturant close up to ease up our housing.. Diversity of newcomers made this country good, but now it is just concentrated. Toronto Union station was filled with Indians crossing the track like this is New Delhi..., like they brought their chaos straight into another country. None of us other immigrants from diff nations have brought this kind of behavior without adapting.\n\nAnd for the sake of goodness, if one needs to wear so many layers and walk around the closed space of malls.... wearing deodorant is like common sense and is the basic etiquette for public life in Canada. As an American and also a half Indian myself, I hear this guy . I have friends in Canada and they complain to me about the same thing. One of the things is that Indians refuse Canadians job positions because they are not Indian. How can u Indians refuse someone a job in their own country? And another thing. Changing Canadian culture just like he said. . Canada has a right to their own culture. U people cannot do that. U live in Canada not India. India has its own culture as well . Every country has immigration law. No one is above the law or below the law. What is wrong with temporary stay and student visa has to go home? Go back to India if you are India citizens. Canadian citizens ca not take the weight of immigrants anymore. Go to US as you said US is welcoming. I believe that Trump is not welcoming anymore people either.
