Canada is expensive because of the high levels of corruption everywhere: Government and Public Works are a joke. For instance, to change a street light post they use two trucks with telescopic baskets; almost in all public works, there is a huge number of heavy equipment most of the time unused, or just mimicking work, and add to that that institutions don't work as you would expect (Health, Police, Media)... For those who came from developing countries, most likely there is more efficiency and modernity in those countries. The other big negatives are the lack of a national culture, inexisting trasport from big cities to small ones, and also too little social life in big urban places. Normal people would survive all of that and stay, but the wokeism, push of the transgender agenda, cancel culture and the stupid racist anti-racism inclusive trends, are unbearable for the average, normal person witch children. But not all is bad, Canadian landscape is beautiful...

I lived here since 1961. The biggest negative changes have occurred over the last 25 years. Yes a million condos bringing tons of new city tax revenue (wasted) but so unreasonably expensive, as so many new immigrants naturally flock to Toronto and need housing. Which\nmeans traffic sucks, too many downtown roads closed, unused bike lanes steal car travel lanes. Toronto is generally dirtier and meaner than in 60s, 70s, 80s, even 90s. People are less friendly, less polite, less caring, and reside in self contained cultural enclaves. I used to ride the subway daily till 1990s, but i was shocked by my recent ride, with delays, so overcrowded slow service and bummy looking passengers now, scary. Quite a negative unwelcoming transformation!?

Let’s not circle the obvious here. These are the major problems in Canada that are greatly amplified and visible in the bigger metro areas:\n\n- Loss of economic opportunity due to the disastrous Liberal government policies of Justin Trudeau, with all the known bad social consequences.\n\n- Out of control immigration. Impossible for a country to absorb that many immigrants in a short period of time to make them productive and pay into the system.\n\n-Rampant and oppressive woke culture. If you disagree with it, you’re labeled anything from racist to transphobic. \n\n-Permissive liberal policies with drug abuse and mental illnesses.\n\n-Spineless Conservative politicians. This is changing, but boy is it taking long.\n\n-Canadian complacency and self-imposed politeness. The worst traits we have as a country. We basically don’t react to bad situations until the shit hits the fan.\n\nI’m hopeful for this country, but we still need to fall further down to do the changes we need to do.

The odacity of theses muslims is unbelievable. Imagine living in a country which is not your own culture and expecting the people there to change for you. look at theses 2 living and making money in our country, exploiting our ressources just to bash us after and complaining. Why do we let people like this living in our country ????

I'll get slammed for this, but, look, history is history and you can't change it. Back in the mid-20th century, the peoples of central Africa and North Africa fought ferocious guerrilla and insurrectionist wars to eject the hated white man colonizers who came in a century prior and took their land. Understood. Got it. The insurrectionists and guerillas were fervent they could run their own countries more efficiently and with more compassion than the white man. Got it. The African insurrectionists got meaner, resorting to terrorism, kidnapping, torture, brutal murder, planting explosives in shops and restaurants, mounting hit-and-run submachine attacks day and night on the populace, white and black and north African. Don't believe me, look up the old news films from the period.\n The insurgents, insurrectionists, revolutionaries, guerillas, partisans, and outright terrorists succeeded. White man gone. Fast forward to the 21st century. What do you see? Failed nation states. Lack of social and economic stability. Countries still with poor hygienic standards and low medical care. Famine. Hunger. High unemployment.\n What happened? Mostly....corruption, aggravated by increasing drought conditions over the past seventy years.\n What do you see today? Descendents of those once ferocious revolutionaries and insurgents who were willing to sacrifice their lives resorting to terrorism and murder, now risking life and limb by jumping into rickety boats to cross stormy seas and enter the countries of their former European oppressors. France and Italy are among the most astonished of all. \n Canada was not a colonial power yet look at all the migrants from Africa, desperately seeking a better life. Their forebearers promised far better than their European occupiers but delivered even less because everybody has their hand in the till and is lining their pockets. When a visitor has to pay government employees bribes for them to do their jobs, you know you've visited a failed state. Bring up the subject of institutionalized and cultural widespread corruption and they get defensive and angry, still blaming everyone else for their own failures.\n One of the more common solutions over the past twenty years, accepting huge, high-interest loans from the Red Chinese government that they cannot repay, is now coming back to bite them in the keister.

Canadians are not going to change their culture to satisfy islamic culture. no one has to live here if they dont like it.

If you are Muslim the best countries you are both fit in, is Muslim countries also. You can’t change the western culture it’s because you are Muslim.

All of the GTHA has changed... I grew up in oakville / burlington, used to go into Toronto a lot, have lots of friends in mississauga, but just within the last I'd say 5 - 7 years nothing is the same as it was. The entire region gentrified or simply went through a rapid social, economic, and culture change. Oakville where I grew up has absolutely nothing similar to what it was when I was a living there, and pretty much my entire age group had to move somewhere else to afford to move on with our lives or stay stagnant and stuck in renting situations. \n\nIt's quite shocking and sad. I could go on about Hamilton too, but I hope you get the picture.

I am a Canadian and I don’t want to see my grandchildren that dry queen shows but also if you’re unhappy here in Canada, because your religion is not widespread all through our country, then yes by all means pack up and leave we are not going to change our culture for you

I think this is a wonderful idea. I truly feel most Muslims would be happier living in Muslim countries. Muslims who come to Western countries, and want to try to change them, are fighting a loosing battle and it just makes it so unpleasant for everyone. The two cultures do not mix at all, so unless you can, or want, to assimilate into the society….. it is always better to move to the place that fees like home, and has the values you want to pass on to your children. Maybe that's kinda.. normal? \nIf you want to be surrounded, I assume day by day, by an islamic environment, I think it's a very good idea to move to a place where that already exists. Because your want (or need) to be surrounded by a certain religion, is your want. I don't think it's the right decision. Even the traditional Muslim countries are changing much faster in adopting Western culture. Muslims need to find a balance and ofcourse question the injustice. Do good and leave the rest to Allah.

So sorry to hear that you are being attacked for wearing a hijab. Hijab should be a perfectly acceptable clothing. I admire you for moving to a muslim country to live within your own moral ststem instead of wanting to change the culture of a christian country. Good luck to you guys.

I strongly support you for another reason. I grew up in Canada and can't think of a better place to live; thus, I'm glad to see people who don't like my culture leave rather than change Canada to fit their needs.

Canada is not one place - 2 nd biggest country in the world in area, with 13 totally different province's, one area code in the GTA has more population then Western Canada, so one cant paint a single brush stroke to talk about Canada. At present time the whole world is going through changes, look at USA - globalization is changing, look at England dropping out of EU. One cant just say Canada like its one place, Quebec, BC and Alberta have nothing in common, three different countries not one. Different issue's , cultures and languages. Even our first Nations have different cultures, the Haida are not the Mohawks. Its the same with each province. Globalization has reached its current course, right now the Chip market is changing, and so is the whole world. Its not just a Canada issue but a global issue

Muslims should move to Muslim countries because of culture differences. Many western countries with large number of migrants are becoming a major problem because of the culture's differences, some don't have democratic values or believe in rule of laws. There has been an increase of crime a shortage of housing, jobs and is hurting the economies. Some migrants don't adapt to the new life or do they want to. Some western societies or finding these changes hard to except nor do they want to.

i am from ameirca moved to egypt lived there off and on for 10 years last time was 5 years to sum it up it not worth it........ the culture in egypt is very harsh and unislamic. the athan has been lowered so you can barely hear it unless you are living right next to the masjid. your Eids and jumuahs are Gov. controlled meaning jumuah is precisely 25 mins no more than that, you stay longer in the masjid because you want to have time alone you will be scorned and be seen as a terrorist. the cleaners may even tell you to get out as well.\n your daughters will be told that the hijab is not compulsory and how dare you wear niqab in university. you will never be treated as equals even if you have Egyptian parents but were raised abroad. I left Canada in 2023 January because of One reason. In Schools they teach kids how to change the gender and how to take drugs which will not harm. \nCanadian values doesn’t aligned with my family, cultural values so I left Canada even I was earning good money. But money has no value if you are unable to raise the kids properly. \nI left Canada and it’s been 1 year I am living in my home country India and I have zero regret about leaving Canada. Canada country was good when I came in 2017 but now everything is changed. My sister and brother in law they also moved from Toronto to Dubai because they also think that there children will have no future in this country. \nMy brother in law told me Dubai is very good for raising kids, have moral and cultural values. Respect for everyone. No drugs promotion, No gender change promotion in Dubai, quality of health care and education is way better than western countries. Strict rules for women safety.

I have lived in Malaysia (5 yrs), Bahrain (7 yrs), Pakistan (born and raised), and now in Canada (4 yrs). Each have had their own pros and cons. \n\nMalaysia has some of the nicest people in the world. Beautiful country, lots of rain, temperatures usually between 28-30C, all year round. Laid back office culture. Lots of work holidays! In the last one decade Pakistani community has grown steadily esp in Kuala Lumpur. English is widely spiken and understood in major cities.\nAs for the cons, very expensive international schools and daycare centers, that would take a huge chunk out of your income. Pakistani food not that easy or cheap to find, but that may have changed since we left. Relatively high cost of living, if you need to live near city centers.\n\nBahrain sees both winter and summer. Not much of other 2 seasons. A large Pakistani, Indian community, so much so that I rarely ever used English to communicate with cab drivers or shop seles reps!. Regular Arabs struggle a bit with English though. Pakistani/ Indian food very easily available n affordable. Again a laid back work culture. Maids and domestic help easily available. \nAs to the cons, you may encounter racism sometimes. Arabs are generally nice ppl but u may sometimes find them condescending in their dealings with you. Probably bc most of Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshi and Nepalis form the labour force (and we all know how worker strata is treated in the Middle East). International schools are again quite expensive (lesser than Malaysia though).

Interesting about the islamic atmosphere, I live in England and there are so many Muslims around me, I even hear they calling to pray once a day but I don't see a Christian atmosphere even though it's said to be a protestant country but for sure there's a Christian atmosphere back home in Brazil.\n\nI absolutely love living in Europe (Ireland and England) but I do miss this atmosphere from Brazil and my culture that 1000% I want my kids to have.\n\nI have the exact same opinion about things that are being taught at school that goes against my believes and i know many Christian parents are making the change to homeschooling and i might do the same when it's my turn.

My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

Do not blame TORONTO, only. CANADA has changed, too. It is a desperate situation. In name of cultural diversity, poverty has accelerated in the nation. If this situation persists , Canada will become a THIRD WORLD nation in a few decades.

How does bringing more people here help housing? More people means more homes needed driving up the cost. We dont need diversity! This is my home and Im sick of othrr cultures that are not compatible. Things like common courtesy is not common in other cultures. Dont need honor killings or cuvil wars brought here nor do we need war criminals. I dont want to wake up one day and find my home is taken over like the Turks took over Byzantium. I also do not want to deal with foreigners who expect us to change our ways to not offend them. A refugee should only be welcomed until its safe to go home, not stay here.

As a born and raised Canadian I can tell you I agree things have changed \nMy pros and cons\nPros - clean, low crime, multi cultural, subsidized but declining healthcare, lower cost tuition for Canadian citizens compared to USA, polite but not friendly people \n-\nCons \n- bad weather for many months of the year. Lots of gloomy rainy and snowy days \n- high cost of living. Rent, housing taxes , heat are all high and rising \n- competitive job market especially for immigrants \n- \n- we are polite but not friendly or personable \n- most incompetent government in G7 \n- government trying to add censorship bills

beautiful overall and some cities have a lot to offer in terms of sights, work, and food, but high cost of living, increased homelessness, overly woke/left leaning ideology in some sectors, has kind of killed the dream for many. What we also get are those who come and instead of assimilating just try to milk the benefits and change the culture instead. I'm hoping there needs to be some infrastructure revamping once Trudeau is out.

Came from Germany to Canada about a decade ago and I am looking to leave. Canada has too many problems and is unwilling to change anything to improve.\nHealth Care is trash, prices too high, rents unaffordable in a lot of cities, too many immigrants from countries that have a different culture. That rips society apart in the long-term.

My colleague told me how he recently went to near Toronto Science Center were they use to live. Demography changed completely. He is Ukrainian/Jewish and he was so afraid in local Goodwill by how now locals looked at him, he has to leave. And despite anyone origin, our children have no future with Canada ripoff culture. It is much cheaper to send child to Europe for university than paying for so-so university in Toronto, with insane rental rates. One bedroom apartment in German/Belgium is twice less to rent than in Toronto.

I’ve lived near Toronto for the vast majority of my adult life. Around 2016 I was working there and started to explore the city a little bit more, living there for a short time. I think the draw and attraction was that it always was a little hectic. Always something to look at, so many different cultures. Also such contrasts, walking through the downtown core and then out to a neighborhood like Greek town. With parks and even forests to be found. It went from tense to a feeling of refuge and a sense of a natural oasis within a chaotic machine. I think the sense of calm which could be found has become a little more rare. Also a certain openness that people and cultures had towards each other has been fading. Discourse with other opinions morphed into the near impossible. It’s all by design and sad to see. It’s a tangible and significant change. When you zoom out at the infrastructure, social and economic level. It’s very hard to see a healthy recovery happening anytime soon. Mostly due to those being in charge not caring. Still lots of beauty there. I would never choose to live there again, but if anyone is still living there and reading this. My advice would be to explore the greenways, parks and forests to be found. The juxtaposition of city and nature gives a heightened appreciation to both realities, and really gives a more balanced/peaceful mindset to explore the good which can be found

I’d say the militarization of police forces is something both countries have in common, as well as totalitarian leanings. The judiciary in both countries seems to have been corrupted, with laws created favoring corporations. Both countries are heavily propagandized. In terms of foreign policy, there is no difference. Canada is essentially Americas puppet.\nWhen it comes to standards of living, more than ever it depends what city/region, etc. \nApart from healthcare, there isn’t much difference. Both countries have been importing large numbers of foreigners. This has only added to the existing segregation of classes, ethnicities, and cultures. Over time both countries have become more internally divided.\nFrankly speaking, I don’t have much hope for either country. Not when the world is increasingly becoming polarized, and our leaders choose war over rationality.

Toronto has changed drastically. Crime and homelessness is out of control. Traffic is only getting worse. Good luck trying to get around the city during the summer with road construction literally everywhere. Our transit system is out of date and unreliable. The cost of living is stupid. Yet somehow everywhere you look they continue to build condos as cheap and as fast as they can. It really makes you wonder who is buying them. Sadly there’s no real culture or quality of life. Toronto has changed because of the immigration policies of inept Prime Minister Justin Trudeau... since he took power... Toronto is full to hell... bringing immigrants from Pakistani India and other countries that do not have the culture of people born in Canada…they only come to destroy the country and bring them with citizenship papers so they can vote for him and remain in power

Same here in Montreal used to love this city still do but post C19 everything changed like everywhere housing crisis, politics, the cultural center it user to be changed maybe its just looking at it now at the start of my 30s compared to when i moved here from Europe and Central Africa at the start of my 20s. Met friends i have for life, got great professional opportunities lived in nice places great food in the city. Now everything is just super expensive now and i know toronto is must be ever crazier. Im considering moving back to France or Switzerland to be closer to my family and friends and also be close to Gabon easier to visit than here constantly taking 4 plains round trip everytime i go back home. After losing my father last year getting divorced 3 years ago i think my time here is done. 14yrs here i became an adult here had amazing experiences, became a canadian citizen but its just not the same anymore. Time for a new adventure somewhere else. We used to live well even back as a student on minimum wage, now with a better career good salary we’re struggling. Breaks my heart seeing this all over canada.

I am not racist but just stating a fact during an observation. I live in Coquitlam. a city connected to Vancouver BC by another city Burnaby. I went to my local blood clinic for testing, it was very busy with long wait times of over 6 hours but I thought I would try anyway. As I took my number and was standing against the wall waiting as their were no seats I took note that out of 38 people I was the only caucasian, the other 37 were 100 percent Asian. I could have easily thought I was in a clinic in Beijing. This is my country, born and raised here from many generations of europeans. When I was young there was more diversity of cultural backgrounds but it has changed in that one culture totally dominates . That is not cultural mix it is a takeover by one particular culture. Why is immigration Canada allowing so many of one culture compared to other cultures? As a taxpayer I expect immigration should be well thought out and to not favour one culture over another yet in Vancouver area that is happening.

I currently pay $734.96 per month for my bachelor apartment in Parkdale, Toronto. All inclusive. I found the place in 2015, and it started at $660.00 per month. It's a smaller building where I know most of my co-tenants. Quiet neighbourhood most of the time. I've been one of the lucky ones for sure. I love this city! I'm from Peterborough and I will never move back. Some of the best memories of my life have been here. But you're right Alina, it has changed. Much like most other major cities in the world. The economic hardships being the #1 issue. Rent going up, wages staying the same, and inflation not slowing down. But with Toronto, the transit system is far behind the progress of cities like New York. Toronto should have multiple subway lines going east and west. Queen St. and Dundas lines for sure. The overall culture of the city is not as vibrant as it was during the 2010s. That could be Covid related. Or things are taking awhile to come back to pre-Covid form. But a lot of great venues and restaurants have been shutting down. And being replaced with the construction of condos. The real estate is insane here. It feels like things have gone downhill since the Raptors won the NBA championship in 2019. Because that really united everyone when there were a million people gathered for the parade. I'm hoping things turn around and there's more affordable housing for newcomers. I know I'm staying here for a while longer. Because of my cheap rent. And career attachments to the city. Couldn't agree with you more! After spending almost 20 years working in Asia/Pacific, I returned to Toronto in 2021, thinking that I would settle back. I was shocked at how much the city had changed for the worst (although I had been visiting every year). Drugs on the street, young people struggling with mental health issues and city that doesn't spend enough in social services to help the marginalized in society. I left in 6 months. Now live in Istanbul, a vibrant city steeped in history and culture that predates Christ.

Like you, I recently returned to Canada from living in Asia for years. I moved back to Vancouver, and the changes here were immense as well. Basically, the exact same issues Toronto is facing; unbelievably high prices, frayed social fabric, homelessness, crime. I had some pretty severe reverse culture shock coming from Seoul where you'd see none of this (Korea has its own unique issues though).\nI've decided to stick it out as my wife and I can make it work for now, but wouldn't recommend young Canadians, international students, TFWs or anyone who's trying to get a start on their professional life to come here. It's about as uninviting a place for your career as its ever been. Expect to live with two or three strangers in a one bedroom working at a job with low pay.\n\nIt sucks to see how far Canada has fallen. I never thought I'd see it in this state, but here we are.

Diversity is our strength. Think of all that we gain from being home to the best of all that is available from these diversified cultures. Think of all of the worst that we also gain from so many of those diversified cultures. When we import people from all around the world, we import, along with all of the good, all of the bad. What is culturally and morally acceptable in a great many of these foreign countries, is NOT acceptable in Canada. However, our accepting liberal society has a solution for that, we simply change to meet the ever moving social and moral target. This is why our Prime Minister gets away with stating that Canada has no national identity or culture worth preserving, since we just accept and then change to suit.

They won't fix their own country... They just want to destroy another country! Coming here will not change their cultural problems that led their country to crap!
