There's difference between US and India immigration laws. In India opposition party states provide them with legal documents and make them their vote bank. And since Bangladeshis dont look much different from local population they blend in easily. \n\nIndians, latinos, and other non white people dont blend in plus in US they dont get such support from opposition parties like Bangladeshi get here.\n\nWe only have Bangladeshi immigrants only and it was due to open border for 40 years with Bangladesh under Congress. Its under Modi fencing of borders started and around 5lakhs are deported in 10 years. My uncle worked in immigration department and he explained me issues India faces but still under only Modi government India has made any effort to deport Bangladeshis.\n\nCongress made them into vote bank as they muslims ?

People keep saying it’s racist and anti immigrant but as a former expat, you’re out of touch with reality if you think Americans can stay somewhere illegally or can overstay our visas and just live in the host country. Please, they would have been at my door the same day it expired. Idc where you’re from if you’re here illegally you need to go. Like it’s absurd that this is even an argument. I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada. Should I have to explain why! It's sad but the U.S.A isn't what it used to be. Mostly because of corporate greed and the influence it has on the gouvernment! Just look at how Trump is running things. how do they deal with the hormonal therapy issues, hormone blockers (testosterone) and taking hormones (estrogen) in times of war, or the emotional issues this causes. If a transgender man takes the physical fitness test...does that person get a waiver for not being strong enough to meet standards for men, or have they lowered the scores for everyone? If this is a boder issue, why aren't the Americans securing their border? Canada border security is about trying to prevent illegal entry into Canada. It should be America border security keeping their border secure, not expecting Canadians to pay for it.

I am a Canadian in Alberta and the reality is that the Liberals have weakened the Canadian economy and our standing in the world. Their decision to cripple our oil and gas industry and our lack of ability export our products elsewhere in the world is an issue created by the policies of the Liberals. To impose a carbon tax and further weaker the average Canadian is terrible. There are some policies I don't like out of the U.S. but the reality is that it is never an idea to pick a fight with the toughest kid on the block knowing you will lose. Trump doesn't even want the tariffs he wants Canada to pull it's weight in defense spending and cooperation. Trudeau backstabbed Trump in the past and that won't be forgotten. We need a new government with a leader that understands more than being a drama teacher and snowboarder. Unfortunately, most of the significant issues Canada faces is the result of self inflicted wounds resulting from incompetent leadership. We didn't have anywhere close this level of issues with the Harper government. We are lucky to have the U.S. as a neighbor so let's do what is good for both nations but there is no way the woke Liberal's can do it.

American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. Combined. \n\nFurthermore, Canadian trade with america account for almost 80% of all trade in canada. A 25% increase would be absolutely devastating to canada. In america its about 13% so a 25% increase would cost more but it wont have any significant impact.\n\nNo doubt this tarrif war will cause far more problems for canada mexico and china than america. By a LOT. \n\nI dont think america is being selfish either. China does nothing to protect america from sending precursor chemicals to america to manufacture fentanyl. Canada facilitates illegal immigration and fentanyl into america with no accountability. And mexico is illegal immigrants by the MILLIONS and is literally working with the drug cartels. Closing the boarder is not an answer, it is just incompetent leadership. Everyone agrees that immigration is an issue, but it can be mitigated using the proper levers of current laws. Resources are needed, not bigotry.

Trump doesn't accept calls from Canada ofc because this is not about border security nor the 1% fentanyl going into the US. It is about being hawkish and potentially annexation of Canada in the far future. \nThese tariffs make way more sense against Mexico, considering the amount of border issues and fentanyl infiltrating in the US, but tariffs against Canada is just BS.

Yea I don’t believe it’s the fentanyl that’s the issue Trump has, I believe it’s the business with China. China is using the benefit of both of these countries free trade agreement and Trump is punishing Canada and Mexico for it.
