Unfortunately for some people it doesn't work out for whatever reason usually because they do not want to assimilate very well. I grew up in Ontario to a french-canadian father and an Italian mother in my life in Canada was so perfect said if I had to dream up a better life I could not have done so. I grew up playing all the sports and enjoyed all the different sports and the changes of seasons. My parents had a summer home on the st-lawrence river and every summer we water-ski swam fished, play golf in the morning and barbecues every night right on the water. Even though my grandfather was in the hotel business I was all about sports and enjoying everything about it. I grew up in a town of about 50 thousand about 40 miles from Montreal. When I wanted some great nightlife just drove a short drive to Montreal and it had everything did anyone could want in Nightlife. I have lived in United States for forty years and I can tell you that it really isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Heaven forbid should you get some kind of catastrophic illness you are screwed. I knew a woman who work for travelers insurance for 30 years at the best insurance a money could buy had suffered a couple of strokes and was on the verge of going broke had she not died when she died. People think that insurance continues to pay his long as you're ill and nothing could be further from the truth. This lady was going to have to sell her house to continue paying for round-the-clock care had she not died when she did. United States middle class is getting wiped out. I've seen enough poverty and hardship in this country to last a lifetime. I find greed to be running rampant in this country. When I grew up in Canada there was always the grass is greener on the other side and when I did move over to the other side the US that is I can tell you unequivocally the dead grass is not greener on the other side. There are more millions and millions of people here that are one or two paychecks away from being homeless. And we're talkin 2023. Now let's talk about violence. There is a mass murder in the United States every single day of the year. And a mass murder is defined by four or more people being killed by one person at one time. Food is very expensive and shelter is also out of control and non affordable to most people. Again I find United States being able to paint a much Rosier picture then does really exist. And there are more con artists and thieves , Crooks, con-artists, bamboozlers, cheats and scammers then anywhere that I've ever been. And I will say this is it it ain't getting any better and I don't see it ever getting better. I find it is everybody out for themselves no matter who they cheat. I live in Southern California and I can tell you that night life where I live is non-existent. Understand that LA and Hollywood they always have to glamorize everything to sell it to tourists. Just remember that things today are not what they were 40 years ago. Middle-class people in Canada would also be just middle-class people in the US. But if your life means anything to you as far as safety and raising a family then Canada wins hands down end of discussion. People that say Canada is boring is because they are boring. Canada is the second largest country in the world by land area and next to Saudi Arabia has the third largest oil Reserves in the world. I live by lake Michigan about 40 minutes North of Chicago and 40 minutes South of Milwaukee with every type of social biome around me in between as well as airports and I didn't realize how different it made me from people who live hours or more from a different type of demographic or city until I started going to Summer Camp back in the day and talking to people who hadn't left their hometown, ever because they don't have easy access to airports, translations and if their going to pay extensive money for a family trip it's probably to go hunting or go to the one resort thing their state is known for. I've been to several other states between the East and West Coast and it's interesting to see how much of a mixing pot we are of stuff and I do wish travel was more prevalent between everything for the sake of letting people see the rest of the country.

But if you look at the crime statistics database, something like 90% of violent crime is committed by black and Hispanic men between the age of 18 to 45. If you removed that demographic from America, America would be like some future Utopian world where all we knew was peace. So those demographics need to be allowed to be talked about if we want to be able to find solutions and solve those problems. And no, giving reparations would never solve stop those crimes. It's a cultural things that's kept around by bad parenting, poor education, and their surroundings. Sweden is a perfect example where they had nearly 0 crime until they started letting in black refugees from all over. Grape, robbery, and assaults all went up by not 20, 30, 40, 50%. Not even 100%. Those crimes went up by like 400% or more. Women who had lived there their whole lives now had to walk the streets in fear. White men had to now be worried about getting assaulted or stabbed by immigrants who were hitting on his girlfriend in clubs. Lets also not forget the majority of the GDP from Australia is mainly contributed by only a few major cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), whereas in the USA the massive GDP are contributed by much more equal geographically distributed cities from the west coast to the east coast. If you are a young person, migrate to the canada/usa route is a much better choice than choosing isolated Australia in terms of experience and exposure to new ideas. Australian is friendly but not easy to become friends with. You only see them at work and talk a few things and then after work, probably not going to have much further connection.

My parent's immigrated here legally and they came from small mountain villages. They learned the language (not easy) they worked hard, and they never had to go on assistance. They bought their home paid it off had 3 kids and lived their life and never complained, maybe its because they came from a different generation. You have to look at the big picture.

I think most of this is a lack of purpose and a lack of managing finances because Canada is amongst the highest rated countries in the world to live in pole after Pole has shown this most of the stuff that she's talking about can be taken care of by focusing on getting yourself happy instead of letting your surroundings make you happy there's lots of expensive countries in the world especially now in Europe with natural gas for heating going through the roof because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine personally I love Canada forgot to mention in Canada like low crime rate compared to Nigeria and Ghana where I have a friend who's been robbed four times by bandits and kidnapping is not part of the GDP of the country plus a relatively low population compared to Nigeria I was reading some of the comments of some of the people who were saying that it's expensive well I've been to some other countries and it's even more there I really believe it's what you make it where you but happiness starts from within you and it is what you make it.

I was born and raised in Canada and still live here (my roots are in Jamaica and Tobago). The last 5-10 years has made me so sad to see what’s happened to what was once such a great country. I said ok, then we met and he told me he had just met a guy who runs an English school. In Kenya, For at least half of the day I don't know where my boys are playing, outside or under my neighbors bed, I'll have my old family friends coarse me into doing a BBQ for them, I'll visit my parents once a week, I'll greet everyone on the street, I'll have a deep conversation with my barber and taxi driver, I'll go to church and the pastor will call out my name, I'll find my cousin and she'll join my family to an outing and remember we have our neighbors' kid with us because he couldn't let my son's go alone, then the neighbors husband whose an aquintance will show up at my door uninvited have dinner and talk about my car. Canada is a land with great resources, great opportunity and potential, but for a place with so much supposedly smart people they do alot of dumb things. Been here 7 years now and I have seen so many issues that have obvious solutions but because of some weird culture or heritage or whatever they just keep doing the same thing until it hurts them. The real estate market is an absolute MESS and everybody knows. Money laundering, realtors colluding to set prices, blind auctions etc you name it. But they are just gonna keep doing the same thing until the country is in a major recession. Then everybody is going to be crying for bailouts. The health system is a MESS. Trying to find a doctor is like finding a needle in a haystack. They have them driving taxis instead, claiming that their qualifications arent as good. Yet they dont have enough doctors or nurses to support anything. Coworkers whose spouses work in those industries let me know they have to be working ridiculous shifts because there are not enough people. The taxes are ridiculous. I work in I.T. and taxes are like roughly half my salary. Many coworkers have told me all the illegal stuff they do to get around the taxes. Which I don't do because I wasn't raised like that. But people get taxed so much everyone is doing some thing to try to bypass it. And if you dont know the tricks or dont want to do them, you just get screwed. People don't talk about real issues here. There is alot of fake positivity and optimism because they dont want people to get sad and suicidal from the really long and harsh winter. I used to wonder why there were so many train delays until some one explained to me that many people commit suicides in winter by stepping in front of the trains. The only thing propping up this country is the constant influx of immigrant slave labour through the college system, (Like a ponzi scheme). But the immigrants are going to stop coming here if they cant even afford to live at all. Even the regular citizens cant afford it. So what will the country do after that, since there is an elderly population and not enough people to support the industries? Right now most of the immigrants come here and save up there money to go somewhere else or back home after they realize what a shitshow it is. I even have coworkers born and raised in Canada who are telling me they want to leave. Canada needs to stop patting itself on the back for doing stupid apologies and stuff like that, and actually do economically sound things to stop digging themselves into this hole. Great potential for this country but I don't know if it will ever be realized.

To me, the problem is threefold. a) Toronto and Ontario in general - and perhaps the whole of Canada - are accepting way more immigrants than they have quality jobs for. If you need taxi drivers and plumbers, maybe this experience should be valued way higher than education as part of the existing immigration programs (which is not the case). At least then potential immigrants know this before they come and get stuck in low-paying or relatively OK-paying but repetitive and demoralizing jobs with debts and mortgages that become a trap preventing them from leaving. It's also partially on immigrants themselves who come to Toronto to only find out there's 100 people competing for one spot and that you need to be exceptional - or connected through your ethnic network - to work regular white-collar jobs. b) The official bipartisan policy of non-integration. The naive expectation that having people live in ethnic enclaves will somehow make the overall culture richer is not what happens: instead, people tend to stick to their own communities and the common culture thus gets eroded and limited to economic and financial matters. This makes some cities feel like one large business with everyone networking 24/7 instead of socializing normally. And arguably, having the right culture / social life is what motivates already successful people move in the first place. So when they come and they find out there's nothing but money talk and hustling, they leave (if they're smart). Quebec is doing better in that regard, but then Quebec is not really Canada and it's been pressured to cave in to the same money-centred, uncultured and disconnected society by the feds for decades now. The States is smarter in that it actually makes sure to integrate its immigrants (and let's be honest, many immigrants like being part of a new culture if it fits them) c) Treating real estate as an investment and not as a basic necessity (as Japan or some Nordic countries do, for example). That coupled with a lot of Asian money being laundered in Canada through immigration channels and private equity firms buying whole apartment blocks for rental purposes has led to the highest housing price increase in all of the developed world in the past 20 years or so. The median price of a condo in Toronto is higher than in New York despite the massive gap in salaries and the fact that New York is one of the most expensive cities in the world to begin with. Some draconian measures are needed here to prevent foreign - or even out-of-province ownership -, second property ownership and corporate ownership for renting purposes.

MY ADVICES: Racism happens because of FRUSTRATION and deeper psychological issues and it is always about the abuser or the bully (for me BULLY = LOSER = FRUSTRATED = UNHAPPY), not the victim! They probably wanted to become judges, engineers, diplomats or prominent and successful lawyers but very unfortunately, life has failed them so badly that they end up doing a job and living the empty and useless life that they in fact, entirely dislike! In a nutshell, racist people are just people who have a bad life, a life that kills them, a life that eats them and burns them! Fortunately, for the victims, lawyers exist and if gone too far, press charges if your have been mistreated in an unjust way;! Also in case of abuse, record everything… record the image or if u cannot, record the voice (if going out late at night, it might be a good idea to have a microphone constantly turned on just in case an abuse happens) as you can use those as evidence later on and talk to a loud mouth and experienced lawyer !!! Do never let losers walk in you feet’s… ever! By the way, I am Belgian who has lived and worked a few years in many countries, including Africa…. So I have a better idea of what is the perspective down there!

When they will see TLP goons breaking cars of people, when you will see ambulances stopped from going to hospital, when they will see innocent killings of minorities, when yo both will see discrimination in the name of faith and race in Pakistan and when they will see bribery in every walk of life, they will change their mind. I think acting upon Islam is far easier to follow in England than in Pakistan and its screwed up/lawless system. It is very nice to hear Dr JAVED sb, sugar-coating Pakistan and its so-called Islamic values. Dr sb, Take interview of this lovely couple after two year when they go back to Pakistan and their views will be different. In two years they will be thinking how and when to pack up and kick off from Pakistan which is a breeding land of terrorism, where water is expensive than blood of a poor person.

Let's be honest: Ontario is hella overrated. Important province and all, I just don’t like when the urban people in Toronto think Canada is all about Toronto. It's a good place in some locations, but everyone seems to talk about them and now other places of Canada (asides from the occasional mention of Quebec or B.C)

I have seen racism rise like crazy with people in the neighborhood I've known for years. It's like they are possessed. I feel liberals pushed this and opened this door and now there's no peace. People are mad and angry. The dishonest media is making it so much worse. Let's stop talking about race.
