I’m Canadian. I’ve not been a fan of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the past, but he is the man for the moment and I’m so proud of him right now! Articulate, thoughtful, calm and firm. Exactly what a true leader should be. To my American neighbours: this is what leadership looks like. Bringing the country together,not tearing it apart??

I am so proud of Mr. TRUDEAU, I am an American and retired veteran and so sick of our Administration doing this to Canada and Mexico. I served with some great Canadians from NATO BACK IN 1998-2000. IT’s so sad to see this happening today.

As a Canadian, I want to say that we love our American friends and neighbours. We are proud to call you our closest ally, and our shared history and relationship is cherished by all Canadians. Until now. The fact that we are being treated worse than authoritarian threats like Russia or China is beyond insulting. We don’t deserve this. Under normal circumstances I would be the last person to support our Liberal party; especially Trudeau. His past record speaks for itself. However, his talk today to the American people and Trump actually made me feel proud to be a Canadian. It was the harshest language I have heard him use towards Trump especially after enduring weeks of degrading talk from Trump in relation to calling Trudeau a governor. I hope that the Liberals follow through with protecting Canadians.

I am a Proud American that is so damned ashamed of my Federal Goverment and how they are treating our Canadian and Mexican neighbor and North American peers, please except my apologies for how you are being treated, most of us American DO NOT agree with what the White House is doing. I'm European, but I lived in Canada for a couple of months and actually got to see Trudeau speak live in Parliament. He gave a very different speech that day - a eulogy. I did not think then I would ever hear this man this very obviously pissed off. He's like one of those teachers that don't need to shout to show their students they are in big trouble. I don't know if I would vote for him if I was Canadian, but I would certainly be proud of him right now.

Spoke well, with genuineness, to Canadians, to Americans, to Donald Trump, and was articulate, with no punches pulled. Great speech. \nWe get the big BOI here in America.....to those who voted for him, is this what you wanted? It'll get worse, no doubt, so I hope you are still so proud at the end of this administration....if it ends.

well said Trudeau. I am a proud Canadian and support my country. Because of this I have started and will continue to buy only Canadian products. Trump is a loser and going to cost the USA a lot of money. I will not travel to the US and that means I won’t even be able to see one of my brothers who lives there, but I support my country and will do what is necessary.

Donald, and I noticed you refrained from calling him President Trump because he is certainly not acting like a president, Donald is siding with our enemies, snuggling up to a malicious dictator rather than taking a stand for right and for the common good. He has absolutely no reason to impose tariffs and is actually breaking legal agreements to do so, but we all know that Trump believes he is above the law. If you like this speech, go and listen to Premier Ford of Ontario as he threatens to tariff all the energy which flows into the States or even just cut it off. Nobody wins in this war, certainly not Americans. But Elon and Donald don't care. They are filthy rich and will just plan chaos and world domination in their sandbox while everyone else in the USA takes the hit.

Gotta disagree w/ Mr. Trudeau on one point, when he says Trump is 'very smart'--NO. Otherwise, Trudeau's speech was spot-on, and I love and respect Canada even more now. Most of us Americans cannot be proud of our country; we are held captive by a wannabe dictator and his stooges who are self-serving, vindictive, and UNpatriotic! To gather some semblance of sanity, I am taking the family on a Canadian Rockies tour in late spring--am tempted to not return home again.
