The real question is when is this guy gonna get replaced? Lol \n\nI realize this place is a massive echo chamber, but this response is a dumb one. He needs to be on the phone trying to make a deal, not putting on a show.

PM Trudeau is an example to follow and surely makes all Canadians proud for his reply to Donald Trump. I am European but also a big fan of the US; it is such a shame to see the light of the democracy fading away in a country which was once considered as one of the most consolidated world democracy. One question for all the US people reading this comment (with all due respect but is this what you mean by 'Make America Great again ?' ?

Trump gave earlier the real reason why he started this trade war: he wants Canada to become the 51st state of the USA. He also wants Greenland so he can secure the Northern passage.\nCanada is a country of the British Commonwealth, and it is interesting that Trudeau met with King Charles last week. Oddly enough, the British Prime Minister dodged questions from White House reporters on this topic.\nNow about the G7 forthcoming summit: Trump is a convicted felon and may not attend without the permission of the host country, which this year happens to be Canada!

Whoever buy American car after March 4th should be interrogated and questioned about his loyalty and even his citizenship!

Why does Trudeau care? He quit or is quitting his job. Big question is; who control's America's deep state? Wall Street? Russia?

Classic CNN talking over the Canadian PM instead of letting us hear him answer questions.

This is what a classy, educated leader sounds like. Pity the orange slob and his VP will never match that.Trump is now alienating the free world and thrown his lot in with Putin. The question is…Why ?????

Myself a humble, quiet, soft spoken overly apologetic Canadian from Alberta will explain to the Orange clown loving Americans what just happened. (just in case the sudden politeness/professionalism was a cerebral barrier) ..My boss gave your boss the middle finger and had a talkie talk to him like you would a child or someone with severe mental disabilities... and, btw.... Canada welcomes Maine, Washington state and Oregon as our new provinces if they want or need to defect. No questions or security check involved.. all good ..we get it! come on up! Free Tim Horton's coffee on me!!

As tensions rise in Eastern Europe, the importance of steadfast leadership within NATO has never been clearer. France and Germany, long considered the backbone of the alliance, have stepped up with decisive action, reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank with strategic troop deployments and economic resilience. French President Émile Laurent and German Chancellor Anna Weber have demonstrated a commitment to European security, bolstering defense spending, coordinating joint military exercises, and ensuring the alliance remains united against growing threats. Their leadership has reassured smaller NATO members that Europe’s security remains a priority, even as transatlantic relations waver.\nAcross the Atlantic, however, Washington’s indecisiveness and political gridlock have left NATO partners questioning America’s long-term commitment. While previous U.S. administrations led with clear strategic vision, the current White House has struggled to project strength, often sending mixed signals on critical global issues. Despite these challenges, European leadership has proven that NATO’s stability does not rest solely on American shoulders. France and Germany’s firm diplomacy and strategic coordination have kept the alliance on course, ensuring that collective defense remains ironclad, even in the absence of strong guidance from the United States.

Your coverage is useless compared to the speech and questions. Useless fluff

So what. How much money are you making off the US? This is the question I would like to hear before the tariffs. If it's lope sided were the American pays more. It will equal out then. Right? Lol. I just don't like the British people. Racist people. Started slavery people. Taxed the American ppl to poverty people. If you spoke truth, Canadian people. Know one would question your motive.

47 is transactional. On every front. We see what appears irrational, nonsensical, maybe even dumb. The question is, what deal has he already made for which he will be rewarded? The consequences 47’s actions spell the tearing down the status quo and the power of democracies around the globe. These things seem to be 47’s goal, not just some unfortunate consequence.

Starting a trade war with Canada weakens America. This is the real reason dt has done this. Hmmm, now which countries in the world would benefit from that? Russia? China? North Korea? My only question is, what are you personally doing to stop this president?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The question in my mind, is why. Why is Trump doing this?? What are his real motives?

Why can’t we hear the questions being asked to Justin?

The U.S. turning its back on its allies—especially Canada—while favoring its historical adversary, Russia, is beyond comprehension. Such actions undermine decades of trust, shared sacrifices, and strategic cooperation. Abandoning allies in favor of an adversary with opposing values raises serious questions about long-term commitments and global stability

Mr, Trudeau prime minister, I am glad that you are standing up to trump do what is right for your country do not allow this, man child trump push you around, stand up take a stand do what is right what is just, your people who voted for you deserve it, show the world ?? that integrity, honestly and the rule of law still matters, let the world see trump for what he is, and I say to the other leaders do not be afraid to do the right thing, a good leader loves his people a good leader protects it's people , silence ? at this point in time is not acceptable, when you see tyranny speak up i asked my father ounce what makes a man, i could see in his face that he was thinking about this question very hard and he turned and looked at me and said, a man will stand up for what he believes in,no matter the price, and a real man will always protect those that can't protect themselves, for this is the mark of a real man and gentleman, i have never forgotten those words that he spoke to me, and I believe that this saying also has religious implication as well, after everything is said and done it's not the voters that are going to judge you in the end it's god and he is going to judge you on his standards not MAGA

I’m am Ukrainian Canadian and over the last few days I see how the new US government’s policy ruining everything we all believe in so dearly: democracy, friendship, helping shoulder to those who needs support against the bloody dictators, and firing thousands of people without cause who provided cybersecurity, guarded fairness of your elections… all being flashed down the toilet. And I watch it being replaced with bulling those who is bleeding, stabbing the friends and neighbors, singing praise to the war criminals charged for crimes against humanity with unlawful deportation and transfer of 20,000 Ukrainian children into russia. Children?! And I want to ask you a question: will you be a silent bystander watching the world plummet into the hatred, redivisions of borders and the rule of heartless convicted “deal makers”? I think I know who he made the deal with... And to those who voted for him: do you still believe this will lead you and your country to greatness?? One single fact that both Moscow and Beijing celebrate watching what’s happening should raise your eyebrows and question your decision to bring this man into power. Instead of making America great again the fight for saving America just began. God help you and all of us!

Is it possible that this is all about access to critical minerals - which Canada and Ukraine hav in abundance. America has form in creating a pretence to go to war to protect access to cheap oil. But in the past these wars were against arab nations and so the West found it easy to 'other' and accept the need for war. Now America under Trump is hoping to secure critical minerals (modern day oil) - but because they are allies he cant start an outright war. So hes doing it through trade. This is old form for America. When looked through this lense is not so difficult to understand. The big question is will the west allow him to bully western allies - democracies to be bullied into submission?

This is intentional. He’s trying to collapse the country. The question is why?

The real question should be, what is Felon 47's REAL motive for dismantling the US government while single handily DESTROYING our alliances and our economy. It's almost as if this traitor might be controlled by Putin himself...good riddance

The real question is, what does Putin has on the orange man?

Question: why the USA people having fentanyl ? Because inside you are doing nothing.‼️‼️?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Tariffs should be 100% equal between trading partners. In Japan, the tariff on a new American car can be up to 100% of the cost of the car just to buy it. (Why is a question for the shoppers) this is simply wrong AMONG TRADING PARTNERS…. Trump is doing some of his TYPICALLY STUPID MOVES.

It’s clear that fentanyl is not in question, something else going on!
|

As I understand that Canada doing as much as they do to protect flowing fentanyl to Us ! My question is what Us doing to protect their border to stop fentanyl coming to their country?

Europe and Canada are so polite in dealing with a mad and unfit president of the US, even they are treated badly! He is undoubtedly questionable!

I was questioning PM Trudeau for his foreign relationships and dealing with Khalistan separatists and straining Canada's relationship with India. But this speech changed that perception. I like how he addresses the very issue. Crystal clear and a very matured leader I would now change my position about him. This trade war will really hurt both sides. It may help govt as businesses will pay more on sales taxes. But it will ultimately hurt the consumers, especially middle and low income folks on both sides of the border a big way. There are so many problems to solve in USA and he focused on this.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Thats a great speech, but i have a question for the canadians: i heard that quality of life has suffered so much, less income, rising prices, problems with immigration and crime. Is it true?\nI hope we, europe, canada and the free world, can pull it together!
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The lizard and the gecko may decide to fight, but i as the locust (zimbabwean) have no reason to dance my wings to shreds. Just one question before i go, what's your trade balance? Billions and billions in Canada's favour right? So why cry a river. You want to mantain your trade surplus. That's so unAfrican sorry unAmerican.

Canadian here. My husband and I listen at you here on CNN Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and we couldn't be more proud of you and your team. You say intelligent words right from the start and you deliver a strong message in a very strong manner, beginning with this: the US is declaring economic war on Canada, as well as strong arguments, and that fentanyl is just a pretext, which we all already know, that getting closer to Russia and cutting ties with its allies is Donald Trump's current course of action, and the fair question to ask is why is this man putting himself at the service of the Kremlin which is totally unnatural for an American.?

The USA is officially the stupidest country on record. Donald Trump is dumber than d***hit. All his cabinet picks are crazier than he is and half are just criminals. Trump and Musk are criminals. Pam Bionde dropoed charges against Trump for a measly $5000.00 campaign donation. Little Marco Rubio only agrees with any stupid thing Leon Musk wants. I hope your men have mastered your new German tanks PM Trudeau. I am against any war Drumpf could think of. We need to go to Ukraine and talk to Putin tank to tank. Putin is a tiresome little man. Why do you think Trump fears him so much? Find the answer to that question. Thanks PM Trudeau. No thanks to any GOP pig in the USA.

Could Canada Win a Trade War?\n Trump has waged Economic War on Canada in order to bring us to our knees so that we will eventually capitulate to become the 51st state.\n\n Had he come in a nice way, as a friend verses a foe, he would have had a lot more interest, especially from Alberta. \n\n Now that we are here, the question has to be asked, can we actually win a trade war that has probably been extensively war-gamed by the U.S.?\n\n Our politicians want us to go toe to toe with a 900 lb gorilla. The U.S. economy is at least 10 times our size and are less dependent on our trade than we are. We may give them a black eye but they could rip our arms and legs off. \n\n Retaliatory tariffs play into their hands. It’s the perfect excuse to increase the tax to 50 or 100%. So will we do the same? This would devastate us, achieving their goals.\n\n Canadians are already fighting back without the government making things worse. People are boycotting U.S. goods en masse and cancelling travel plans, etc. and this is already having a strong effect.\n\n Some say turn off the electricity and oil, but who will pay price? It will be the businesses and employees, not the politicians who are now trying to act tough. If we want this to turn into a real kinetic war, then turning off the taps may do it. \n\n We have seen countless times where politicians tell us what we want to hear, making us think they are heading is a certain direction, only to find they do the exact opposite. This proves you can not believe what career politicians say and have to go by what they do, or don’t do, instead. Yet now, they confidently declare that Canada will never become the 51st state. This should raise eyebrows. \n\n Almost all of the MPs and Premiers are unanimous in entering into a trade war we can not win. After tariffs go ballistic, our dollar drops to .35 cents, and we get utterly crushed, I can see them say, “in order to save what’s left of our economy and society we must reluctantly join the U.S. or face certain destruction”. \n\n Not only would the decades old goal of a North American Union be accomplished, but we would take a large step towards the video statement that the World Economic Forum - WEF posted on their website. “By 2030, you will own nothing and be happy”. \n\n The WEF is working with the UN to achieve their Agenda 2030 goals and is what Pierre Poilievre and the “Conservatives” signed Canada onto Sept. 27, 2015. This is what Trudeau has been implementing. Mark Carnie, Pierre, and Jagmeet Singh would finish off the job. Read the redistribution of wealth goal #10. Are you feeling poorer yet? Remember, one has to dig deeper to see through the document’s ultimate double speak written for public consumption. \n\n There is much more going on than meets the eye. Our best defence is to not play into their hands. A much better plan needs to be developed by minds who see the big picture for creative solutions, and it does not seem to be those in office now
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
My question is why retaliate at all? If tariffs are paid for by the country that imposes them then just let America pay the higher prices and keep imports in Canada at a lower cost. What am I missing?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
This sounds more like a cry of desparation to me. The question is: If you all-of-the-sudden managed to stop the flow of fentanyl, why couldn't you have stopped if before? It just wasn't important enough? This isn't about fentanyl, though. President Trump is going to use this to hedge support for our takeover of Greenland.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Going to be interesting to listen to Trump lying to Congress tonight. His only other option is to avoid talking about tariffs. And the big question: will Congress wake up tonight and start asking questions about what Trump is doing and why (the real reasons)? Lastly, why the big hurry to cozy up to Russia? What is in that for the USA?
|

CNN... please stay quiet and let us hear how the Prime Minister answers the questions! These reporters have no manners!

What is Trump doing on the problem of fentanyl? That is the question? Is this the blame game on our best and closest allies?

Showing class, dignity, and eloquence. Unlike the one who curses , shouts, and creates havoc in the Oval Office and everywhere else; while his king wears a baseball hat tshirts, jeans in the Oval Office and not questioned if he has a suit . A country can’t be ran like a country club.
