I am still in touch with my university friends in Canada work at low wages on obsolete tech stuff, with no innovation at work. Many of them want to move to the US, but for 10+ years they worked on outdated stuff, so they cannot compete with the talent pool in US. Even in 2004, I remember healthcare being bad and I keep hearing stories about how worse it has become. In US, I am covered by a good health insurance, I had surgeries for myself and my kids, and we never had any issues. Honestly, I can no longer trust Canadian healthcare with insane wait times for my kids safety.

I was raised in Guelph ON, and I loved my childhood in Canada. My friends were white, Sikhs, Bosniaks and Vietnamese, I loved how diverse and welcoming Canada was. At 12 my mother had to stay in the hospital, quick admission, everything free, great doctors and free meds after. That is the Canada I remember.\nAt 16 we moved to NY, life was harder at first. I joined the US Navy to get ahead in education and move away from NY. As time went on I made a good life for myself, married and got a nice condo. My mother got married and made a good life for herself too. \nNow 22 years later, every single one of my friends from high school moved to the US 'cause they could, not one person said they wanted to live in Canada. I still consider myself a Canadian with the Canadian values *I* was raised with, but the Canada of my youth is gone it seems. Honestly make me sad.

I used Toronto Pearson last month and it was smooth. I think people just need to be genuine and get their docs handy. Docs like return flight ticket, hotel reservations, bank statements, etc should be printed. And of course don’t leave any implicating messages on your phone and be confident. Remember that Canada don’t do interviews before the grant or deny visas. You have to do the interview at the point of entry and if you can’t satisfy them with your answers, you’ll be denied entry

Here in Toronto you hardly see any white people anymore (exaggerating a bit), yet you complain about racism and also criticize Canada in other areas. How is it even your business? I don't remember ever seeing Canadian TV programs criticizing India. And I have nothing against India and Indians, in fact, they're mostly quite pleasant. But you're taking it a bit far here.

Ugh this is so sad. I was in my mid 20s when I left Canada for the US because the housing situation there was out of control. The park they showed at the 2:44 mark was where I used to live back in 2021 and I remember it was filled with kids playing and people walking their dogs. Now it's a tent encampment for the homeless. Very sad to see the living condition deteriorate there and hoping they can turn it around.

I am a old white man born and raised in Canada...our youth born in Canada don't give a crap about us old folks...then these young men and women that come to Canada for a education and residence show up from India...and bang in an instant I am noticed...do you know why because these young adults were raised to respect their elders...they are hard workers (some holding down three part time jobs) they pau their rent...they are polite and smart...with all this said they are also humans who have a limit. If they stay in Canada and contribute to our society here or go back to their own country using what they learned here to better off their communities in India...it doesn't change a thing...because they are so mature and i am proud that they call me a stranger UNCLE and exchange greetings to me all the time. I might not remember how to say their names but i am good with faces and i return the gestures willingly. It is true they have a hard time finding work that fits their educational title but they never give up and will work hard in any field with patience. I understand they are having a hard time but more Canadians should reach out and listen to them...they will teach you too. What a wonderful culture they bring to our country. To all the young Indian (Indus) women and men that come to Canada hold your heads up high and your parents should be proud of you.

The homeless problem has become way worse over the years. Canada has become way too expensive to live with the outrageous prices in rent, heat, hydro, food, property taxes it’s bloody outrageous. Ppl loose their jobs and find they can’t afford to pay their rents and mortgages along with all the other bills if they can’t find another job right away. And companies are to hire minority over white ppl. A white male in Ontario, forget about it. White ppl have become minority now in the work force. Absolutely the cost of living has caused the homeless problem to sky rocket. As far as the system it’s true that the system takes care of foreigners first over Canadians. I remember many years ago I tried to get student assistance to take courses and I was rejected because I lived with a parent, the person on the other end of the phone told me strait out if I was a foreigner I’d of gotten the assistance, and this was way before Trudeau was in the picture!!!

I remember living in Toronto in 1994 when homeless people were being found frozen under bridge's...The many in Toronto at that time were going out to provide blankets, food, clothing and toiletries. last time i was there was in late winter of 2017, there was a lot of red lights (warning signs) back then but people were euphoric because of the surge in real estate prices. the euphoria was so tangible, it felt like i was surrounded by a sect. then the mental health crises was a shocker. the rat race was worse than i remembered. i also realized how immature my generation in canada was, because in my circle barely anyone was getting attached to life long partners, ie being married. mid-sized cities felt like toronto in terms of immigrants. it was warmer. i have a feeling if i landed in toronto now it would be a late 80's eastern bloc feel to it, ie nobody believing in it anymore.

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries.. there are issues in every country. Living in Canada for 13 years has been a wonderful experience. Where I live, you might reach -40 in winter at the same time you can sit inside your home wearing a t shirt. In summer, it turns into paradise. Remember both wife and Husband has to work. Otherwise stay in India.

All of Canada is totally fcked, for such a big country they for sure don't have enough real estate for people to live. I remember back in 90's the rent for nice 2 bedroom apt was 400 here in Kitchener, that was 40% of the full time minimum wage at the time, according to same minimum wage percentage now, the 2 bedroom here cost 2500$, so that means that full time earnings at minimum you can't even cover your rent.

I remember the good o'l days before 2015 when every thing was great in Canada yeah it was a little expensive but it was not too bad and you got good services. Now we live in a time where every thing is worse and more expensive. God I miss Canada

I guess we did a right move. During the cold war we moved to Canada in Jan 1990 from former Czechoslovakia after spending almost 2 years in Austria to enjoy freedom. I remember renting a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 balconies in Brampton /ON for 360/M. In Mississauga 600/M for a 5 bedroom townhouse. Later on in Orangeville/ON I bought a fully detached house with a nice land with own swings and slides a swimming pool for 144 000.00. When the non stupidity in law started in 2002 we sold our house packed our things and went back to Europe. I always loved Canada as my second home but I guess the table has turned and we cherish freedom elsewhere. I am really sad about what's going on with Canada but it isn't really that hard to figure out why.

let's be honest as an international student I am in awe of how some internationals can study in Canada when they can't even speak English properly .. when I came here I needed to pass IELTS and get a band 7 for everything all my documents and transcripts were directly sent from the official email of my institution. I need to pass an exam before enrolling for my course, I have criminal, abuse registry, and child registry checks in my country and even when I am in Canada. Did all the immunizations needed and abide by their law i need to submit all these documents every 6 months access. to the policy of the program I am doing. And as an international remember you are coming to Canada they have their own culture so you need to respect and adjust to it, not Canada adjusting to you... even though Canada is diverse they have its own rules so yes adapt to the place where you are. And to them blaming the agency you the people who are using them knew exactly what they were getting into now you are complaining I did all my applications through DIY as IRCC is a direct applicant why need agents for application. Ircc should also question why a person needs an agent to process their applications. If they can't understand basic instruction and basic legal matters would you think those students will be able to survive the education system here in Canada? let's be real a lot of students are taking short-term courses, short like 8 months, and yes to get PR (I wouldn't lie cause that would be hypocrisy all international students have that aim, and if you say no just stay in your country). Now this a lesson to IRCC that they really need to make a thorough background before offering a PR permit ..and please when you are in public speak English respect the people around you... and don't speak too loud in your language when you are in working places.. uphold professionalism again remember you are in Canada a french English speaking country. And don't start with me about being racist.... cause it is plainly common sense.

Just remember - students aren't the problem here, most are hardworking youth. It's Canada that needs to ramp up to accommodate this or find a path that leads to it doing so. Canada wants to achieve a population of 100 million by 2100, but they need to also have a strategy and implementation strategy to get there and not just a goal.

Canada was built by immigrants no doubt. When Canadians are unwilling to do the low pay hard labour, and give birth to kids, there has to be immigrants to fill the gap. Housing crisis is the elephant in the room, it has been around for quite a while. Remember one decade ago in Vancouver #donthaveonrmillion? Its worse now. International students became easy solution/target for politicians to blame because they cannot vote. They were considered as solution of labour shortage back during Covid then there was a labour shortage. Sean Fraser the minister of immigration back then made it super easy for international students to stay in Canada permanently. When he takes the office of Minister of Housing, he starts to point fingers to those students. Who let them into this country in the first place? We need more roads more houses. IRCC needs to work faster to get more skilled workers doctors into the country. Putting a cap on current immigration level is not a good idea.

I remember canada immigration has a certain standard and requirements. There were different immigration program such as family class business class. When it comes to student visa graduates studies were offered on funding and scholarships.recently we can see number of high school graduates to attend community College. Canadian takes grant student loan to start any program in college and universities imagine international students from developing countries where the tuition fee is almost double I don't understand the screening process of students. It has benefited to consultants and has ruin canada reputation. There are number of videos in tiktok and YouTube of people making v blog on leaving canada. I feel sad. Canada is a beautiful country but the greed of money has completely ruin the reputation.

My question is: why is it that 98.5% of international students come from one country? I remember when I was in high school working at McDonald’s etc now Walmart, Petro Canada, Tim Horton’s, McDonald’s are only hiring international students and only from one country too ?

I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... Also (though i'm Christian not Muslim) i get the whole not having access to your faith environment too. Canada is a super secular country and people who take...well just about any serious religion seriously feel that way. Even with visibility and feeling safe...remember when Churches were being burnt a few years ago? I was legitimately afraid some of the Churches in my area would be subject to arson and i often feel like I have to keep my faith secret. again...i'm not Muslim...i'm Christian and yeah, I feel this way.

I lived in Toronto from '95-2000, 2003-2004, and finally from 2010-2019, and watching its slide has been terrible. But I'm old enough to remember what it was like in the late '70s when it was still functional and people had no yet become miserable. It's astonishing what greed and stupidity can do. Having lived in Calgary and on both coasts as well as Australia and Japan (where I'm on my second stint) I now see Canada as no longer designed as a home for citizens but rather a holding pen for the fleecing of inmates.

Whatever you do, you should try your best to not disturbing other people, loud speaker 5 times a day, have you considered those who need quiet time , maybe they work at night shifts, I still remember in a university library, a bunch of Muslims asked us to leave a study room, because they need to pray, super selfish, if Canada attracted you in the first place, it should be kept its original status
