When I think about my time in Canada, it's bittersweet. I moved there for my undergraduate studies and spent 5 great years soaking up the Canadian culture. After graduating from McGill University, I had a tough time finding a job. Fortunately, I had the support of my boyfriend and didn't struggle with housing, especially in more affordable Montreal.\n\nWe moved to Australia a few months ago, and wow, what a change! I do miss my Canadian friends, but I can't complain about not having to tip for a take-out coffee here! As well as not paying an astronomical amount for asking for alternative milk!

I'm 27 and I have 35k saved. I've made so much money over the years that has been spent on rent, paying back student debt, braces, food, taxes, my business expenses, and life in general. Canada is way overrated. I've spent so many years living there and now I am back in my country of birth. I regret immigrating to Canada 20 years ago. All those years that I've spent living in Canada I consider as waste of time. It turns out that I can make more money in my country of birth than in Canada. And it's safer than Canada. Western countries like Canada or US are just overhyped.

Too bad the working poor that's spent their life contributing to the american system don't get this kind of support for themselves their just expected to subsidize it for foreigners.

Manning the border is an easy problem to fix, we spent 800 billion on the military last year and each alphabet agency’s budget ranges from 1-15 billion. Needless to say there should be no shortage of resources and manpower in the executive arm of the government. Now many of them may not be excited about pay-cuts while being forced to field work and eternal guard duty for the rest of their careers but that’s something they need to reconcile with themselves as it was always a known possibility of happening to anyone living in a country with stressed borders.

We were going to Chicago to visit family and took a wrong turn off. Ended up in a place I had only seen in movies. Cars jacked up and stripped , boarded up windows and a lot of of people in the streets. We were to afraid to stop and ask for directions. Cop car pulled up beside us, guns visable and angry looking police. Still didnt ask for help .\nMy baby spent 2 weeks in Sick Kids hospital. Major emergency surgery. The biggest impact on the declining economic productivity coincides with the Trump administrations trade war against Canada. They ripped up the previous trade agreement, and tabled a new one that attempted to devour Canadian industry. No one ever talks about this, and it's unfortunate. That coupled with the pandemic, resulted in a one-two punch to the Canadian economy. On top of that the amount of investment into automation in the energy sector over the past 10 years has reduced the demand for labour. And now with the ever expanding encroachment of AI on nearly every industry, the Canadian economy is facing an uphill battle. Many think that a prime minister is the main reason, when it's not. Canada is at the whim of US economic policy, which I fear is going to get even worse when Trump returns to office. A transition to Conservatives at the Federal level may lighten the load on a few things like Carbon Tax, and Income Tax (maybe), but they won't be the party to introduce limitations and regulations on investors that are responsible for driving up housing prices, by treating the housing market like it's a stock exchange. \nI will applaud Trudeau on winning over the EV battery plant, for pulling us out of bombing Syria and Iraq, for legalizing Marijuana, and for including Dental Care in health coverage (albeit limited...), but some of his decisions should have been better thought through, like the capital gains tax, and should only be targeting investors that have more than 3 properties. While he increased the budget for the Military, he's spent his first two terms ignoring it and that's severely hampered our readiness, and equipment. And while I do think we needed to boost immigration to stave off economic disaster, the current level that its at is problematic, and many bad faith actors are taking advantage of it and enriching themselves like the diploma mills.

I grew up in the USA; now have spent many years in Victoria, BC, Canada. Victoria is very very safe and peaceful but it is expensive and not a lot of economic opportunity compared to USA. No urge to leave Victoria, I don’t plan on leaving unless I want a super cheap retirement say in Terre Haute, Indiana. I have dual citizenship which is nice.

Why are people leaving? BEcause in the last 7 years we made a huge mistake of letting in too many people and spent less time developing ourselves and infrastructure. Way too many came and got seated in the usual big cities where things are getting worse. Right now there is a gradually increasing anti-immigrant sentiment, especially towards East Indians, Bangladeshiis and Pakistanis, and there is a worry about having existing culture turning too Islamic and Hindu. Right now esp[ecially for Bangladeshiis and Indians, is that ,many are coming illegally and getting a REFUGEE status, paying their own to do this who work in lawyerships [and you shoudl see the scamming being done by Indian and Bangladeshi Canadians who are just taking their former countrymen for everything they are worth!]: Canada is like a person taking on too much all at once and then resenting its choices once it becomes responsible for them. As a British national I am ashamed of this guys conduct, however, some of the sinister comments require further investigation such as “we won’t leave until our objectives are achieved” suggesting some kind of coup or sharia law agenda, this type of comment will only increase the intolerance and hatred Muslims suffer from right wing extremists in the Uk, I spent 10 years working in Qatar and I respected Muslim culture and integrated. Man, the housing crisis that’s going on. I am so fucking happy that I was able to find the basement that I’m in. Been here for over two years and now I’m moving to the country. I would like to bring your attention to the unjust practices going on in Australia. They have recently made an amendment to the Temporary visa laws that bars students above 35 years of age from getting a TR if they are pursuing masters by coursework degree. It was not so earlier and just like that changed the law and students like me are left in limbo. I have completed 1 year of my MBA and now I have no where to go. I have lakhs of education loan on my head. One of my friend is moving back to India after 1 semester and she has spent till date around 30 lakh rupees. So please make a video on this topic and highlight to the world how these countries play with international students.

In Canada for the past 3 yrs, Completely agree. Canada and west is not what is propagated , it has its positives but India has its negatives but when you look at all things in a wholesome perspective then west nations are only for specific purposes. To live a normal good life nothing beats India. Many people can’t return as they have spent huge sums of money and can’t afford to return back.

The Arab world, especially the extremely wealthy Arab countries should then take on all the Muslim refugees that have fled to Europe and insist on turning Europe into the countries they fled as well as from all of the poorer Arab countries like Turkey that have taken them on. Take on the refugees from Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq etc and open your borders where less energy is spent on integration because you have both the language and religion as common ground and also similar cultures. Why are you guys trying to target hardworking people? does anyone know the kind of benefits refugees get ? No cent has been paid in tax dollars by these people. Their rent is paid for by the government, their children's education is paid for, these guys have no clue about how to communicate in english. Students paid fees to get education here and gave exams to certify the level of english, I worked in Insurance and telecommunications sector and imagine explaining shit to these guys who are not interested in listening to how it actually works then come back and blame service reps for hiding facts. In Nova Scotia, there has been unthinkable amount of PRs given to students, who did not go to any of the Atlantic Canada Universities, came here for just gaining PR IN FOOD SERVICE SECTOR and then leave as soon as their cards were in the mailbox, While I spent 9 years here in Nova Scotia and still cannot apply due to such constraints caused by these people who keep moving here from Ontario just because their province would not approve their PR.
