Honestly, the way of saying that one people is more productive then the other is such an extreme oversimplification. I know this is a general term used by economists, but I can’t see the benefit. It is divisive and I feel like it would be more beneficial and interesting to just dive into each countries finacial strategy. \n\nP.S. We just had an election in Ontario and basically nothing changed. Ontario has been one of the worst performing provinces in Canada for the majority of Doug Ford's mandate over Ontario but people seemingly don't care enough to want change. One of the major problems with Canada in terms of politics is that the aging population has some of the largest block of voters and can pretty much overrule anything that would benefit the younger generation if it would hurt their investments.

It’s just getting worse. They’re introducing longer mortgage terms and decreasing the minimums you need for a down payment. Basically they want the younger generation to keep holding the bag while the retirees sell off their houses until the panic sell erupts and the dominos fall.

Slowing down productivity seems to ruin countries productivity. How would've thought??? Aggressive investment in it can be hard to keep up with over the long term. How can countries find a balance?

The reason real estate prices have gone 300% but incomes only 100% is because of low interest rates. If you factor in carrying costs, the numbers aren't as extreme. The challenge now is that interest rates have increased to stave off inflation generated primarily during the covid years. While this has somewhat abated, real estate carrying costs remain elevated and price growth has stagnated, while the Canadian dollar has fallen, effectively resulting in reduced housing valuations (in US dollar terms). Can we ride this out until incomes catch up? Will productivity increases promised by leading political challengers (election coming this year) move the needle? Are tariffs and 51st state rhetoric just a negotiating tactic and bluster, or something real? Nobody knows, but we will find out..

As a Canadian from one of the best educational programs in the country, that produces the countries smartest engineers, and CS grads. I can say most of my friends plan to leave Canada in the long term or after Graduation.

The difference between Canada and Spain is that they don’t have a sovereign currency. With debt dominated in the Euro they couldn’t as easily print their way out of the problem. I’d be willing to bet that the government inflates the dollar away before they allow a major housing crash or long term decline. Either way we’re cooked ?

Canadian here—it’s unfortunate to hear that many people are still crossing over from our country. While efforts to crack down have begun, they clearly aren’t enough. A major issue is individuals from India fraudulently obtaining student visas, with many failing to attend school, violating their visa terms. Others are simply ineligible for permanent residency and these people are likely fleeing due to increased enforcement by our own immigration officers and fear of deportation.

In indian 11/2 & 21'2 apartment 10-15 people up-down sleep, share with many, pee or poo use the toilet outside in the field or jungle, they drink cows' pee. In Canada people use the toilet inside and clean it each weekday, no food is thrown outside, and No clothing is dry or washed inside by hand. so indians can't destroy beautiful condos by doing all. The balcony can't filled with food or fill with bad stuff, balconies are for sitting and flowering. Before moving out apartment should be as clean as taken, The Indian left the apartment dirty, and damages with denied all. They're only busy making money not to clean any apartment, In this situation which landlord will accept them to get rent after suffering all the damages. Indians frequently move out without or not respecting the lease term. They never stayed long. Each year, 2-3 - 6 months they left doing all trouble with landlords. I fully understand and agree with why countries deny Indians visas. The simple fact that Democrats got more upset that Elon Musk bought Twitter than they are, that their own political party in government for the past four years, has literally been holding them at gunpoint and forcing them to pay taxes so that they could steal it or launder it into their own campaigns and pockets is literally disturbing! Misleading people about where they're going (detention camp vs flight) is just wrong.
