The reporter misdirected the whole story. The story was about tariffs and their effects on both the U.S. consumers and the public as well as the country of Colombia. The story is not about how people planning to come to to the U.S. feel, even though that is of interest. This is an example of how the media and reporters miss the point. Bad journalism.

The point being missed is, WE AMERICANS DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ANY PRODUCTS THAT ARE TARIFFED! WHICH WILL ONLY BE HARDER FOR COLUMBIA! I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ANY ILLEGAL ALIENS! THE AMERICAN DREAM IS NOT FOR THE FREAKING CRIMINALS…THE AMERICAN DREAM IS FOR AMERICANS!!

China slapped bans on just about all Australians goods a few years ago. It was a wake up call for Australia as they realised they had relied too heavily on the Chinese market. So they found new export markets for their products. China, meanwhile experienced power shortages and realised they actually did need Australian coal. They have dropped all the tariffs and Australia is no longer putting all their eggs in one basket. The same will happen with US tariffs. Exporters will find new markets. The US will pay more or miss out.

I’m not a huge trump person or don’t hate him either, but every news channel misses a key word in all this… illegal immigration crackdown.

Palki, as usual, misses the elephant in the room. The reason Indians are not wanted in many countries, is the crude way they behave, and the way they try to defraud every system by trying to overstay illegally, coming on toursit visa and taking up a job, lying and cheating to bend laws etc etc. The list is endless. It is much better for other countries if Indians just stay in India.

She conveniently missed mentioning the real reasons why visa applications of Indians get rejected -\n1) Thousands of Indians go on tourists visas only to 'disappear' and never return. It doesn't just happen in Canada, US, UK, Aus but also welcoming countries like Thailand, UAE.\n2) Indian Visa (to visit India) itself is one of the most expensive and complicated to get for foreigners, so other countries have no incentive to make it easier for Indian citizens.\n3) Developed countries know that if they make it 'easier' for Indians to travel to their country, they will end up with tens of thousands who wont want to go back to India. It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

As a South African Indian, I am frequently embarrassed by the raucous and immature behaviour of many tourists from India. South Africans have learnt discipline, Indians from the subcontinent appear to have missed this lesson. Apart from their clannish nature and biased view of other people of colour, Indians need to learn humility- not just preach it, but practice it. It may appear like a minor issue to you, but it certainly portrays you in bad light. The world has become an intolerant place. Having money doesn’t make you more tolerable. Drop the cocky attitudes and practice patience- it may just change the bitter taste Indian tourists have left in the mouths of many people around the globe.

This is shallow journalism and the genuine reasons are missing. For example a recent report states high rate of non compliance among indian students in foreign universities. Bringing nationalism into the picture was unnecessary at the very least.

Lots of phone scammers have already got the Green card in the USA. Scammers were given student visa by carriers and they work as couriers. Stealing from poor people.\nIn UK ALL of scam calls I am getting are from Kolkata. They steal poor pensioners without any heart. Heartless and cruel. Indian students miss behave, laugh and talk louder on the high streets, drop waste on the street. Truthfulness, kind heartless should be part of education system. Also there's no place for bribe in these countries. In India rich parents show their kids how to get around by bribery.\n\nEducated and intelligent Indian scammers are a world known issue.

We, Indians, put ourselves down.\n\nThey are;\n1) Out of 100 Indiands traveled abroad either for tourism or business, only 50 returns home, and the rest try to find jobs to live there.\n\n2) Many Indians forge documents or produce fake documents to get visas.\n\n3) Where the Indians go, they bring pan and pan parag items and spit sll over the place, especially the North Indians. South Indians are much better.\n\n4) We, Indians, can go any lower to get a job abroad at low pay. So, we put our own grades down.\n\nThere are numerous examples I know of. Let me cite a few below.\n\n1) In one of the Western countries, a few years ago, a real Punjabi brother and sister who staged fake a marriage, got a marriage certificate, and other documents only to migrate there. The government eventually found put and deported them.\n\n2) Canada deported a few hundred Gujarati students when the US border security found them not speaking in English. On investigation, it was found that they all came with fake IELTS certificate.\n\nThere are many incidents we get to witness the day after the day. So, we can't blame other countries. It's us who made us very cheap in the international market. Because of those Indians, the entire innocent, honest, and talented Indians community is affected.

Palki ji, The elephant in the room is the folks who go on visitor visa, and then don’t come back to their home country. They have been miss using this for a long time & now causing problem for innocent ones.

Most of the Indian miss use tourist visa and provide fake docs. Admit your fault first before blame Global countries

Visa restriction and passport ranking have nothing to do with GDP.\n\nThe history of misusing the visas pushed many countries into looking to details.\n\nIndians misuse the visas and seek for asylum. \n\nDon’t compare Indians and Cuban. \n\nHow many people meet a cuban into a country and seeking asylum. I sympathize and relate to this situation so much. I will always love my home and native land, but I don’t miss the struggle of living there. I had a good job, but everything I made went to the cost of living and I had very little left over to do anything worthwhile. I left in 2019 and it’s even more desperate there now after the COVID pandemic. I miss Canada, but I don’t miss the struggle. I hope you are all doing well and living happy lives wherever you are ♥️

I don't care what anyone says, but Indian people, particularly (Punjabs) don't like to mixed with other cultures at all. They don't integrate with the Canadian lifestyle. They don't worked very hard, they are rude, they have no respect for other nationalities, racist as fuck, and the list goes on. I have been living in Canada for 34 years and I have never once felt isolated. Now, I feel like Canada has become India. I'm sorry, Trudeau have turned this Canada into a 3rd world Country. I missed Canadians! I don't have an issue with immigrants at all; as I am an immigrant myself from the Carribean. However, I have always respected Canadian culture and their laws. I'm sorry, India is the number one hated Country on the planet as we speak. England, Australia, & many other countries are not allowing Indian students to enter anymore. The proof is in the pudding! They are just bringing all their bad habits wherever they go. So it's not only Canada that's fed up, there are lots of Countries that cannot stand their attitude and erratic behavior. They have very low standards if you ask me.\n\nI can't wait for the day to see Canadians working the fast food &service industry again. No offense, but I rather be served by Canadians than Indians. Remember, many around the world want to go to the USA.... but it's because of HOLYWOOD misrepresentation mostly. \nIf you have a good job/skill it's 'fine' .. but if you come from poor country, you don't know what you miss from other destination. \nAnd you know, a poor life is better when you live where everyone around you is as poor, it SUCKS when everyone else is not...

I went through this twice during COVID. Two tenants stopped paying one after the other and lost over 50k. Sadly, the only option is to take her to small claims court but in order to do that you need an eviction order and sheriff documents. Even if he does get to that point, they can o lay garnish her wages and at that point, she can avoid paying and jump from place to place changing addresses info and job details. Professional renters know the system and they work it to screw the landlords. One tenant I had actually believed that if they rent the house they “own the home”. Even if you call the police they won’t do anything. If the government just allowed the police to arrest and charge these people I think it would help but they don’t. It’s horrible. I’m actually thinking of selling my home because of the financial burden it’s been post COVID. I have good tenants now but only after using most of the equity to pay off the damage and missed rent from the last 3 tenants….

I lived in LA for 6 years. I don’t miss the trash and smog. I don’t miss the underlying feeling of suspicion of everyone and everything. I don’t miss the ridiculous healthcare system. I don’t miss the inequitably funded education. Been back a decade and I’d never live there again. And I brought an American husband back here with me!

I worked as a nurse in Florida when I first graduated. It was devastating to see how stressed people were about being hospitalized because they knew how their life finances were going to be wiped out. In Contrast Canadian patients only need to concentrate on being well again. \nWomens rights are being rapidly eroded in America. Childbirth is covered in Canada,abortions are legal and women get 1 year of paid maternity leave.\nOur children don’t have to participate in active shooter drills because of our tight gun laws. Our taxes are higher but the social networks are covered by these taxes. \nThe Canadian way of life is generally ,slower and ,I find, more accepting of immigrants, LGBTQ folks, and marginalized people.\nPersonally I moved back to Canada because I missed the change of seasons and the slower pace. I enjoyed my time living in America and have many fond memories of the time I spent there.Moving back to Canada was the right move for me
