How many part-time jobs do they expect these people to work to pay for rent? Finding a full-time job is almost impossible. Coming to Canada exspecting the country to look after them? Same hours for the company but paying less wages and keeping the profits. Who is does this benefit? Not the workers that then need another part-time job to feed their kids. No proper place to live and using foodbanks. Anyone with this paperwork should be refused at airport not supported. Most are coming from counties that have schools. A Ukrainian immigrant here. Absolutely in love with beautiful canadian nature, cute little houses, especially townhouses in toronto, just so wholesome. As for life, you gotta be some sort of specialist like a doctor, or a proper construction worker, or a truck driver to have a decent life that goes beyond just getting by and eking out an existence. On my own i can make enough money for food and rent, but thats about it, and im happy about it, really, i get to be alive thanks to canada, but i really hope i could move out of here as soon as it becomes safe, or just move to a cheaper country thats a decent distance away from russia. I ended up being unemployed and i do feel like im in quite a real danger on eventually becoming homeless if i dont manage to procure a job, and you know how the job market is now. As for health care, i simply dont have access to it, at least i dont have a family doctor and have been trying for a while to get one. I haven't tried walking ins yet since i prioritize food over health now but i might someday. I just hope that whatever sickness bugs me is minor, i cant do anything about it. My teeth hurt too, but i cant afford a dentist, and ive found one Clinique in toronto that helps immigrants fix their teeth for cheap, they can help you with three teeth in total, and i've used up one of it, and saving the rest for real emergencies. I cant eat anything except for real soft food, and i know im not gonna get any help i could afford any time soon.\nOnce i get a job i will be saving as much money as i can to leave Canada, i don't know where yet but i'm doing my research and hopefully will find a place, and if not well, sucks to suck. I want to bring attention to the fact that when an Airline submits a Record of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada for flight crew. The hours the company puts for insurable hours is the hours per month based on the pay hours not the actual amount of hours worked. Pilots for example are usually paid based on 80 hours of flying per month, actual time in the air. However, we all know it takes a lot more work to get an airplane ready to fly. These are the Duty Hours, the actual hours worked. The Airlines do not use the Duty Hours for the Records of Employment. The rules regarding insurable hours does state that it is the actual real world hours worked or as close as possible to that number. Something needs to be done because it is not fare for a full time employee to then be given an ROE with just 80 hours of insurable hours per month when they actually could work way more than that. Please someone investigate and report on this.

Like I explained, to those who say this will sour the us and canada's relationship. Americans don't care because even though Canada is less than 50% white, in they minds its still a majority white nation. I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Immigration in Canada is a cycle. My guess is in 5 to 10 years the doors will be wide open again for immigration as the Boomers die off in mass. Housing is an issue because the entry level houses are not being built. I know guys in construction who develop homes and they ALWAYS build upper to high end houses because they are more profitable for the builder. Combine this with many people buying 1 or 2 extra homes and then using them as airBnB (Igor! lol!). But the worst is large hedge funds buying massive amounts of homes for profit. Some estimates say 20% or so of the housing stock is owned by hedge funds atm. In the last 4 years Hedge funds made MASSIVE purchases in real estate as a hedge against inflation. Canada does not exist in a vacuum as the USA has some very similar housing issues. One last thing is people do NOT want home prices to go down. 2/3rds or so of people own a home and the LAST THING they want is for their home value to DECREASE! So you really will not see massive changes to decrease home prices no matter what political party is in power. The majority of voters have a vested interest in high and higher home prices. Making it easier for people to buy a home is probably the best short term solution.

I see a lot of comments which are mostly against the international students and are some racist as well. I can understand the pain of Canadian and i am also a canadian now (immigrant), It is a total mess created by the government where government used international students as the cash cow from past 7-8 Years. Its the fault of both sides but the major culprit is the government. I was a also a new immigrant to canada in 2012 and I thanks alot to the open arms welcome for the immigrants by the canadians but when you put a pinch of salt in food its taste good and its was all good until 2015-16. but the government started putting the full carton of salt in small bowl of soup which made the food bitter now not just for the canadian generation but the immigrants which moved to canada before 2016. I hope in the next coming years things will change for canadians. In the last I would, If someone don't wants to welcome me in his home then I should not enter to his home. we should respect that where ever we should go not just canada, it applies to any part of the world and to everyone.

When so many immigrants enter a country that its infrastructure can not handle the increased population, people start to be anti-immigration. People who are not the majority race and culture, are easy targets for people who are frightened by the rise of homelessness and crime, and loss of employment. In Canada, even in small rural towns, long established residents see that their children can not find work, or housing, while obvious immigrants are everywhere as waitresses, cashiers, and other unskilled jobs which their children used to do when starting out. On top of that, many Canadians can not find a family doctor, and our healthcare system is strained to the breaking point. People are frightened, and want the government to tighten immigration policies. I think that our government did not consider all the factors when it opened the door so wide for immigration. Now it has to take a step back, and ensure that the infrastructure is in place before immigrants arrive in Canada, not be forever trying to fix the problems after they have caused havoc!

I'm not an Indian but I'm a immigrant in Canada and yes it's true everything that you say but I just want to give one respectful advice to my friend from India. Please use deodorant and at least once a day take a shower because in the bus or at work is very hard for us from other countries and I know is not your fault but we all have to adapt in a country we arrive hope no one gets offended by this but remember that we share the air and we cannot avoid smelling other people. It’s not a matter of ethnicity, but Canada needs to import talented and educated folks in medicine, engineering, trades etc. None of these individuals are interested in studying and are either attending 3rd grade colleges/universities to get a work permit and hoped to stay on. \n\n2) Shoddy sales tactics include lying or ‘avoiding stating the obvious’ that could make you lose the deal. This is exactly what the Canadian government did with these people. The Canadian dream was sold somewhat properly before 2017/2018 I would say. Post Covid there was a MASSIVE need of manpower in minimum wage jobs. The government could not afford increasing minimum wage at the time and international students would do exactly those jobs and bring in millions of dollars in tuition fees. The government opened the gates for these strip-mall colleges to take unprecedented numbers of students with allowances to work. These students were sold the exact same dream that a top quality University/college student is sold about Canada. They needed to be used at the time. And if they would’ve been told that their quality of students are only needed temporarily, they wouldn’t have come. The labour shortage at the time wouldn’t have been solved. So a CATCH 22 of the highest order. \n\n3) Canada CANNOT give in to such protests as it will set the worst example of migrant pandering for future generations. The best talent will refrain from entering Canada and more and more of these types of immigrants who do not want to assimilate to the Canadian culture will want to keep on coming.

I'm Indo-Canadian, and I want you out to. It used to be quality immigrants from India. The US now is taking them all (top CEOs, entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists there are of Indian origin if they aren't Chinese). But in Canada we're opening the doors to the worst of India - Sikhs and Sikhism (fanatical bearded towel heads). You won't be happy here eating crap from food banks and living crammed in small flats. I blame Trudeau and his plan for more Sikhs and having them throughout the government agencies including police and defense, a severe terror risk to both nations.

Glad this is happening! First, because the govt. should put their citizens & their heritage as top priority. Secondly, because permit to study doesn’t mean permit to permanently settle down. Don’t use words like racism during protests. That’s not racism. Canadians are much more tolerant as compared to places where many of us come from - places that are pure classists, casteists & extremists! Yes, this exists in 21st century. Finally, there is no deeper philosophy involved - learn to respect & assimilate in a new country. Work hard. Follow the rules. I mean these days I am seeing people failing to follow basic civic sense & social manners. This is creating a problem for the entire community. We clearly don’t want this to happen to the real hardworking and sensible ones!!!!

Canadian multiculturalism has changed. It used to be you came here and became a Canadian... While still bringing in bits from where you came from. Now it's they come here and complain about Canada while bringing their whole package of where they came from for us to accept. I'm tierd of people assuming white Canadians are racist for feeling uncomfortable when their cities are being over populated with non English speaking people (and by the way... It's not just white Canadians feeling uncomfortable... So our media and politicians needs to stop making this a race war). When we allow this many of one group to come in and live together.. They have no insentive to integrate. Immigration 60 years ago was Europeans coming in...
