Tell me what Trudeau is saying while he is actually talking. The arrogance of CNN talking heads is mind boggling at times.

Prime Minister Trudeau has spoken clearly, with dignity and truth. I feel safe saying Canadians are in this for the long haul, until the clown and his circus are removed from the White House. Never underestimate the resolve of a pissed off Canadian. Elbows up. ??

It is evident that comments like the one from @robertedward7023 demonstrate many, many people do not know what took place at the meeting before this meeting which should have made this meeting a simple signing of the agreement. VP Vance corrected Zelensky for his attempt to propagate his agenda and now that Germany, France and others--as NATO countries--have jumped in, there could be consequences resulting in war if they continue to push for it. As far as Trudeau, he is on his way out according to his own resignation and he has just done Canada wrong with the faulty reasoning. I thank all military veterans for their service, but I do not approve of what they say blindly.

What I can't understand is why Trudeau is saying all this stuff when the people of Canada hate him and he's on his way out.. Is this Trudeau trying to pull the wool over everybody's eyes... We have the same in the UK.... Everyone hates Starmer but he's trying to sugarcoat himself to make him look good... \nI'm sticking with Trump.. ?

What would be interesting to know is how trade between Canada and Europe explodes, Europe would like all the oil and gas and rare earthminerals Canada has, so would China, if for nothing other than to prevent Americas access to it. I think trump and musk think russia will supply rare earth minerals on the cheap, but Russia is about to collapse again and various regions break away as they did last time, but this time is much worse than back then, Russia really could cease to exist and America will not benefit at all, Europe China India Mongolia will benefit. Russians hate america more than Americans hates Russia, America has been prosperous, while 40% of Russians don't have running water or electricity, yes the big cities and towns in the west are better off but most of Russia does not even have paved roads.\n\nTrump is backing his banker, and everyone knows it, pootin is using trump, very clearly shown when he set up President Zelensky in that ambush.\n\nEurope China and other countries will be in line to sign trade deals. I think it was clever of Trudeau to say what he did. And to set a few months before the massive cuts in trade with America as what the rapist president is doing, what republicans are doing will be biting very hard by then, and Canada cutting trade at that time will be possibly the straw that breaks trump.

Trudeau has the nerve to say that the US-Canadian border is safe and secure. But in Paliament he regularly complains about illegal items flowing over that same safe and secure border. You cant have it both ways Prime Minister. \n\nAlso, fentanyl has legitimate medical uses. So saying that you are going to wipe Fentanyl from the face of the earth is odd.

The only thing Trudeau got wrong on his speech was to say that Trump is a smart man. Any attempted appeasement of Trump is simply not worth it.

Trudeau dumped on his people during Covid. He acted as a dictator, freezing bank accounts, ect.\nZelensky acted a fool in the oval office. The deal was agreed upon, and Zelensky backed out like a flippant child. \nBTW, JUSTIN, if you want to be serious and address the president of America, try saying PRESIDENT TRUMP.

He talks about Trump and Putin, but he didn't talk about how he has been in bed with the Chinese Communist Party. You would think being the son of a reported child rapist father he would be not wanting to say too much about anybody. He was given a reprieve and made the decision to do nothing. He lied to Trump and then sat on his hands. Trudeau needs to give Canada a gift and get the heck out of the office that he was voted out of awhile ago.

As an American that saw the writing on the wall 7 years ago and left, I thank you Mr. Trudeau. You, and Canada are very much respected, and the world listens. Hopefully, decent Americans will overthrow the tyrant that 50% of them voted him in. To say I am ashamed of the USA as it stands is AWAY underwhelming. As much as I disagree with most of Trudeau’s domestic politics I must say that this was a good address and seems to be where he is strongest. With that said though I still would not vote liberal in the next election.

Trudeau is a sniveling little turd! He desperately wants to make the tariffs sound like they aren't 100% fair. Canada already taxes US imports at an average of 25%, so these US tariffs only balance the playing field. All that said, like Zelensky, Trudeau seems to forget that Canada needs the US, but the US doesn't need Canada. He says that it is going to be tough in Canada; true. On the other hand, the average American probably won't even notice a difference. But the neverending, desperate anti-Trump narrative twisting is all CNN knows.

Highest respect for Trudeau for speaking out and fighting back for both the canadians and americans. He is right when he says no one wins in a trade war.

I see all these other comments saying how polite and eloquent he is compared to Trump, but you can seem polite and screw people over at the same time. Trudeau comes up with an economic plan to weather the storm. Trump says Americans will be fine, tariff everyone, and have fun American farmers. The difference in leadership quality is palpable.
