While legally they have no rights to protest, this government was complicit in selling the dream to the international student. They were told this is a pathway for pr and many did receive PR following that process.\nFunny thing is that I know international students continue to arrive. That’s because the government probably promised these colleges more victims to pay high tuition fees.\nEveryone is scamming everyone.\n\nRightfully or wrongly this government decided we need more people in the country. Consider the child care, school, afterschool programs, post secondary funding , etc.\nWhen you bring an adult from India, it cost government nothing and you have a tax paying individual from the day they land here .\nLet’s look at the full picture before blaming international students.\n\nGoing forward you can make a rule that international students cannot ever work here or apply for PR, nor apply for refugee .Then they will stop coming

I am Global Trends. I monitor the world and trends that are happening. You're not alone in Canada. Are whole world is in chaos. Since covid, the middle class in the USA sunk into poverty. And it is middle class that pays the taxes in our country. People lost jobs, migrated back to homes they grew up in. They took all the apartments and started remote jobs. The USA has inflation. Rent has gone up, food costs, gas, medication. That's all we can afford. So more people out on the streets. At this time, there is a world wide immigrate problem causing more homelessness. We faced over millions from Mexico and NYC got immigrants from all over the world. The city is trashed. Ohio got thousands of Hattis people. Europe has immigrants from Africa and Asia. Our country and other countries have absolutely no infrastructure and funds to support these people. Ohio is asking for government assistance. The solution now is strict immigration laws and border laws. Everyone that is not a USA citizen must be sent back to their country. Visa cards. Passports. Hungary has the top security system (google) to keep immigrants out of the country. Worse. Thief and crime have skyrocketed! Everyone in NYC are robbing anyone they see and stores are\nclosing. They don't get arrested because anything under $1000 is not a criminal offense. The USA needs to get a grip! These people are asking for handouts, which means the USA poor will not get benefits. It is not just Canada. USA people are getting out of the cities! This is a world wide crisis. Say your prayers. We really need a savior to show up!

We need to CLOSE THE BORDERS until we get our house in order. Canadians are starving and loosing their homes while the Liberals hand out our tax dollars to ILLEGALS?!??!?! Pathetic that Canadians put up with the ABUSE.

Immigration needs to be changed so that it costs Canadians nothing and actually benefits us. Currently immigration costs Canadians some where around $90 billion/yr in taxes and debt! Over the last 50 yrs immigration has racked up over $700 billion in debt that we have to pay back.

More and more people are leaving this working camp and I understand why. Taxes, ridiculous healthcare where you need to spend 6-12 hours waiting to be seen by a “doctor” who will most likely recommend you Tylenol regardless of what problem you have; long wait times to see a specialist; poor education in schools with propaganda of unhealthy values; ask yourself why 60% of Canadians are on antidepressants - loneliness, unrealistic expectations to find a partner - long winters and life in debt are just few causes of it. \nWe left Canada in 2020 and happy we did it.

no more affordable housing, lack of health care, no jobs and in my town of 50K all you need to do is shop or get food or look on the streets to see what happened. They do not spend money either. My grandkids will never find a summer or any job, my adult children with their kids have to share a house. The cause is staring us in the face and paid for by our taxes.

The healthcare system in Canada is horrible. It is almost impossible to find a good family doctor that will provide you with even decent medical care. If you need surgery in a hospital the wait is often many months in most cases. The taxes in this country are very high and will keep going up as our government debt goes up. The cost of living in this country is also very high with no end in sight. It is almost impossible for younger people to buy their own home. In a nutshell this country has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Govt needs to increase spending in health care, housing, education and public transportation, while reducing spending for their corporate friends to get tax breaks and preferential rates for investments and development projects.

As a South Africa working in Germany on a skilled worker visa, it was not the easiest to get the visa even with a job offer and working remotely for the company for more than two years. \n\nI agree with the three points to improve.\n\nBut Germany is expensive, even if you get a cheap apartment and live on bread and one eat meat twice a week, it’s expensive, you keep on paying taxes or fines for things you don’t even know and or use.\n\nThe dream of living in a safe EU country is also becoming something of the past with increased violent crimes and the far right movement. \n\nMy plan was to save more money and buy a property in Germany, but on arrival I had to use my savings to pay for the massive deposit on an apartment and an over priced apartment at that. But housing is limited so you must take what you can get. \n\nThe “free” healthcare is pathetic in comparison to what I paid for private healthcare in South Africa, and I pay more for the healthcare in Germany than I did back home and you have less benefits.\n\nThe only reason I am here is as my home country doesn’t have employment for someone like me, and that makes me somewhat sad. But hence why I need to appreciate how privileged I am to be living in Germany.

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

All these foreign students should simply stop coming to Canada. The entire tertiary education system would collapse. These colleges and university have been gouging these foreign students for years. This at its core has nothing to do with jobs. it is xenophobia. The white Canadian's are seeing too many colored people and it scares them. White kids dont want to work at Tim Hortons for minimum wage. The economy needs these immigrants more than anything. Do you have any idea of the amount of taxes these immigrants pay annually? Liberal government needs to fix the problem it created with immigration. Canadians do not want their taxes going to support unlegitimate refugees or students who feel that they should automatically become Canadian citizens after finishing their Mickey Mouse courses. There are enough Canadian citizens qualified and well-educated to fill in Canadian jobs. Canadian citizens have been negatively impacted by the Liberals decisions on immigration.

As a Chinese immigrant, I have to say that Canada needs to evaluate the quality of new immigrants. For the past 20years, large amount of Chinese immigrated to Canada, 50% of them are wealthy, and brought millions billions of dollars to Canada, especially a lot of rich students who are willing to consume and pay taxes. The other 50% are not that wealthy, but they are working hard while not breaking the rules. Most importantly, they don’t take shit on the beach, and they are afraid to break laws!

Harper raised the immigration level from 250,000 a year to 400,000 a year. Trudeau decided that there was no limit. It is 100% his fault. There is a finite amount of people we can take in per year and pay for as new immigrants need financial support to get on there feet in a new country. The tax base cannot build infrastructure (Doctors, nurses, roads sewer systems....) fast enough for an unlimited amount of new people per year.

I don't like the idea of sending back anyone who is here, working daily, following Canadian laws, and paying into the tax system.. these are productive people.\nHowever, the intake stream needs to be cut back. We failed to build the infrastructure to support a larger population. So until infrastructure (housing, roads, police, fire, medical, electrical, sewage, etc..) is built out to accommodate 41 million people properly, we can't take in more.\n\nThis failure is entirely government created. Red tape and the inability to build anything anywhere is the fault of municipal, provincial and federal governments. And this inability to build anything anywhere also ruins Canada's productivity and ability to attract new industry (jobs) and investment (jobs). Government is failing Canadians. Immigrants and the Canadian poor are just the lowest victims on the ladder, and the first and most heavily impacted.

Canada needs to tax from all their paychecks an additional 40%-50% international foreign student worker tax as a paycheck deduction. Canada needs to give that extra tax money to our unemployment and homeless Canadian born Citizens.

Canada needs to immediately tax them an additional 40% from the paychecks of all temporary non permanent foreign workers and international students who are currently working in Canada. Taxing the people who are non Canadian residents wirking in Canada with a much higher tax rate than is taxed on Canadian Citizens is a solution for Canada to make money to support rising numbers of unemployed Canadian born citizens.

International students and temporary unskilled foreign workers should all be severely taxed an extra international student and foreign unskilled worker wage tax on all Canadian earnings, which will then need to be provided to supplement all our unemployed Canadian Citizens.

Canada added more immigrants than they can produce jobs or housing. Carbon tax and many other taxes and programs created also issue. We need cut spending especially so many social programs on tax payers dollars. These liberal and ndp promise false hopes and that's why this country is going to the ground no matter how much they try to justify their action. Is polli solution?! I'm sure he will do something to help recover and anyone is better than Trudeau now, but long term future only times will tell what kind of leader he will become, either a great leader or corrupted leader.

Indians aren’t the only problem. A Ukrainian family of 2 adults 2 children was receiving $9000 from the Canadian government in assistance . Meanwhile, If a Canadian owes $10 in taxes, the government is coming after you and will charge you interest. The entire immigration/ student , work visa , refugee program needs to be reviewed. Changes need to be made with quotas drastically reduced.. Laws need updating. I’m not saying we don’t help people escaping drastic situations, but we can’t be a free for all society. Don’t forget that Canadians don’t want to have children anymore. So without immigration, canadas population will eventually fall to zero. Canada is a relatively empty country. If our governments were smart we could have the largest housing construction and business development program in the history of the world. There is no shortage of land in Canada, but we aren’t building houses because of incompetent politicians . Immigration creates jobs by increasing aggregate demand, but the country cannot absorb this many in such a short time.

Hardworking tax paying Canadians can no longer afford to support mass immigration. They need to stay in their own country and fix what they don't like about it!

Canada's immigration policies of the last several years are designed to destroy Canadian culture. It seems India is the main target country that is taking advantage of these ridiculous policies, by quite a large percentage. Though racial hatred can be the result of this for many, which is unfortunate, the reality is Canadians are not wrong for being very angry about this, and not everyone has the luxury or time to be high minded and philosophical about the demise of their culture. You don't need to hate Indians to know what is going on is wrong. Our country is using tax payer dollars to fund initiatives that literally lock citizens out of jobs. Think about how absolutely abhorrent that is. Unfortunately so many people have been let into the country the only way to fix it will be to deport people en masse.

Why protest? Student visa is only for studying, that means you don’t have work permits to apply for permanent residency as per you visa guidance, if Canadian have enough jobs only to get a job for work permits, if doesn’t need to go back, you didn’t pay any taxes for our country and wasted taxpayer money

Canada's most of the social welfare schemes work on the high taxes collected from working class. But Canada isn't manufacturing much stuff and exporting. So economy is still stagnant. Long waiting time for healthcare is because of huge influx of immigrants but not enough investment in medical staff. Right now there's recession too so getting job for immigrants is tough. Housing is also getting affected. Canada needs to address these issues.

I am in the country in rural Northern Ontario and I must say life is still grand! I do avoid the major cities as they are too busy, too much traffic, and yes too much homelessness! This is due to ALL POLITICAL PARTIES NOT INVESTING IN GOOD CHEAP HOUSING! Yes, it is a problem with ALL the political parties, NONE have addressed it, from even before Harper to Trudeau today! This needs to be addressed! \nBut our life in rural Canada is still very good. I do not complain about paying high taxes if I know that my money aids others with health care and social programs! It is mostly the fault of the incompliant and corrupt Liberal government for the massive influx of unskilled India workers/students. Under previous sane governments, there were manageable caps that controlled the influx and allowed for proper immigration of vetted and skilled workers, but the Liberals stopped properly vetting people and basically opened the flood gates. For a Canadian company to hire foreign workers, they used to have to prove there were no Canadian workers to do that job, so foreign workers were mostly used in seasonal agriculture work, but due to very shady government deals with big corporations Trudeau approved paying wage subsidy and turning a blind eye to Canadian workers so Singh Hortons (and many other big businesses) could have workers for a cut rate and the government tax dollars paid up to 70% of wages and welfare. Also Foreign workers think they can stay here once their visa's expire, refusing to leave. There is simply no need for Canada to bring in over a million Indians that are in hard times in their own country. Our welfare or culture can't stand it. Not sure if you missed it or not, but India's foreign minister at the start of summer, thanked Trudeau for taking all their criminals, and low caste people. But People need to follow proper immigration policy, and not buy a ticket to Canada from a India scammer guaranteeing citizenship, which has been the case as well. Indians are good people Trudeau needs to go he is the problem. Building permits, taxes and government delays and interest rates are the reason for the housing shortages. When taxes are high along with interest rates and high energy bills push away investors

This move doesn't address the refugee status that's used by human rights lawyers to get thugs in , playing see saw with skilled labour is dangerous when the economy needed them then Canada allowed many to enter but didn't screen properly so a lota crap slipped through, now towards elections this move also doesn't address the housing issue & public healthcare & other social related issues. Universities and Colleges should be mandated to pay the local City a surcharge of $1500-$2500/yr per Foreign student to local City to pay fair share of costs of public infrastructure. Local citizens pay property tax to fund infrastructure, Universities and Colleges (Conestoga the worst offender) need to pay up.
