President Trudeau response to global issues is measured, articulate and informed compared to the ignorant, bombastic self serving purposes of Donald Duck (AKA Donald Trump/ USA president) rants!!.\n Stand strong Canada, you have leverage (higher exports of power energies) to the US with your natural resources. In Ireland we recognize a huge differential between the morals of the USA versus Canada ( but some times get confused with the accents). I am with you Canada. Every best wish with your endeavors and thank you for supporting the EU.

I maybe an ignorant on politics , but what happens when USA , well not USA but the Trump administrations has caused so much damage to the country to the point where other maybe most of his allies start taking responses such as that of Canada , and escalate to the point where perhaps USA lose most of his allies at least important allies such as Canada, the support of the global geopolitics , I Maine that scenario for a moment wouldn't that give Trump an excuse to align even more openly with Putin? You know I'm'm reading all these comments about how much people support Canada and admire their prime minister and it makes me wonder who in America voted to give Donald Trump a 2nd term? I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. He asked Canada to reign in illegal immigration to the US and Canada complied. He said do something about fetanyl and Canada did. Trump said the tariff's were because Canada was not acting on these but now they have and we imposed the tariff's anyway. We look like liars and cheats. \nEven with Mexico we threatened tariffs if they didn't help with crackdown on illegal immigration, fetanyl, and drug cartels. Mexico complied and is also helping us. And we still slapped tariffs on them. We lied to Mexico too. \nAnd now we want everyone to trust us to negotiate a peaceful end to the Ukraine war with Trump threatening more sanctions on China and the EU. What the heck should they trust us and believe us after what we just did. \nWhen it comes to defining your character your willingness to keep your word overrules absolutely everything else. Our president gave his word that if these countries took certain actions there would be no tariffs. They did and now he slapped them both in the face with sanctions anyway. He broke his word. This is a dishonorable action. I hope it does not escalate from there. \nIf it was about promoting or building domestic industries, I think the Canadians could have helped us with that but now.... good luck now that bridge has been burned.

I'm an American and support the actions Canadians are taking to secure the border between Canada and the United States. I did not vote for Trump this time but to my disappointment he won the election and now we have to deal with him his administration and the issues he is causing. The irony is USA gets a bargain price on oil from Canada as an allie who always supported USA including supporting USA wars. A close friendship in fact family as many if not most Canadians have relatives that live in the USA. The selling of discounted oil to the USA helps the USA economically and the main reason why the USA buys more from Canada than Canada from USA but then complains they buy too much from Canada. Stop buying the discounted oil then, go buy the oil on the world market at a higher price and problem solved or Canada just raise the price of oil until they buy sufficient amount less that balances the trade. I am Canadian and I am envious of Americans because you have a leader who can stand for you guys, Canada’s economy has been suffering with his leadership even before Trump was elected but he is supporting /funding war , giving out tax payers to refugees he has been bringing who don’t contribute to tax. Hear him more concerned to Americans as opposed to announcing to us Canadians what is his plan for Canada to address tariff! Let USA do their thing , improve your leadership and don’t rely on other countries plans/decisions, unfortunately we are affected but it’s your job to make strategies of how you would address that.
