Thought there would be more welfare benefits in Canada , this is hilarious ..... he was doing fine reaping the welfare benefits and then he got greedy and got himself in actual hardship ....... this should be an example for immigrants like this man.

He should never have been allowed to stay for 15 yrs illegally in the US. And now he should be deported from Canada as he has once again flouted the laws of the land he has arrived in. How can he be working if he has flouted the laws of the land? Is he working illegally as well? If so the employers should also be prosecuted and given a heavy fine to deter them doing it again.

In Canada were intelligent enough to know that this is happening because the U S is imprisoning children, deporting Americans after 20 years thanks to Trump. That's fine we took in 50,000 Syrians legally and 21,000 illegal. U S no longer safe immigration country

Fine example of the result of a result of irresponsible tweets of a PM that has NO concept of the actual workings of a real govt and the will of the people. Canada has a long history of welcoming immigrants as our young country was built on this premise. However they were immigrants that came here to start a new life beneficial to themselves and the country. This flood of “”irregular “ (read as illegal) cue jumpers only jam up the system that our out of touch PM chose to ignore.

If he just went through the proper channels in the US he wouldn’t be having these issues in Canada. Now he’s an undocumented and illegal worker in Canada and is taking advantage of the system. Canada does have stricter immigration laws than the States. I’m all fine with Canada accepting immigrants as long as they do it the legal way and go through the due process that the government has put in place. But this guy has pretty much screwed himself over and is taking advantage of the Canadian citizens I feel

According to the latest statistics, Between March and October 2017, around 15,000 refugee cases has been claimed on the Canada-US borders, over half of them have been rejected and found not eligible to be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), which is the one to determine whether one is in need of Canada's protection or not. In this period, around 600 Cases were processed by the IRB, and close to 500 were officially accepted. People in the comments are freaking out over these numbers when Canada's economy needs no less than 250K immigrants per year to sustain itself. The system is working fine. Relax.

We live in N.Y. about 2 hrs from the border to Canada and we love to go to NOTL for a quick vacation whenever we can - usually 4 or 5 times a year! We find Canadians to be WAY more chill than Americans and we love visiting Canada. One thing I'll tell you is figure out the insurance because we've had employees who didn't bother to do this resulting in them having none. When that happens, and you file your income taxes, the IRS takes a fine out of your return. The first year it's like $100, but it goes up each year. After a few years they can fine you like $600. Depending on how much you earn you may be able to apply for assistance in paying your health care premium or may not have to pay at all. I would encourage you to do that before you start getting fined...and welcome to the USA lol!

Whenever I take a flight within the states they always let veterans and those who have served in the army board first which is fine by the way. I just find it interesting because we don't do that in Canada at all. Veterans get a special license plate and maybe a parade once a year?
