Sounds to me like the Indian population has taken over housing and jobs in Brampton, that why the white people are on the street. Also, if you think mass deportation could affect the economy, simply create more seasonal visas, allow students — including those in English language programs — to work part-time, and issue more visas for documented individuals who are not criminals with not proper documentation..

Why doesn't this guy mention how we don't do a good job in Canada of screening people who come here? Student visa’s always been easier way to get in to any country, and yes, easier to get in Canada than any other country. Go home and apply for permanent residency like others do so through proper steps! No more student visa as the back door to get in this country. If universities can’t run their schools without fees from international students, they should shut it down. Canadian universities are a joke with poor quality programs and faculty members. They need a complete overhaul.

No more hope here...sorry!!! For every doctor or engineer that comes from India, there's over 1000 McDonald's, Tim Hortons, Walmart workers and dangerous truck drivers without proper training that we don't want or need. This Student Visa to Work Permit thing from years ago has been stealing jobs from Canadians for too long. This group will accept and even counter offer potential employer with lower wage so they can get the job and apply for permanent residency. After that they apply the whole family to come over. Given they are not exactly rich to start with, they and their family end up costing our social assistance more. Send them home and they can apply properly.

Expired visa. Leave and return through proper channels.

Mr. Trump has said his government will seize their US assets. That alone should curb illegally entering the US. The incoming President isn’t kidding. They will be rounded up and sent home. It’s only a matter of time before Canada closes its borders and expels illegals also. They’d be better off returning home and applying through the proper channels than to be deported and banned from returning.

I do think it's worth pointing out that the cheap labour reduces incentives for companies to invest in increasing productivity. I think the high real estate costs might be a problem too - too much of Canada's available capital is going towards expanding housing supply and not enough on better technology - software, equipment, etc. I think part of the stagnant productivity has been due to lack of investment in technology, rather than laziness of workers. It's also worth pointing out that a lot of the workforce has been in government, which has been spending more and more money while not having much to show for it, so productivity in the government is another issue too. Bureaucracy and red tape can also be detrimental to productivity in both governments and the private sector. Maybe Canada needs more competitiveness (ex with telecommunications). Lack of training could be an other obstacle to productivity, or for example... not speaking English properly. Sometimes when I get customer service with an Indian, I have to make him repeat 5 times because of his extremely thick accent. He might not be lazy and trying his best, but still not very productive. \n\nWith slavery in the US, the South has been rather inefficient with their labour because slaves were relatively cheap (still had to feed and house them). Congratulations for all the hard work and research you 've done to compile so many data and provide a comprehensive explanation of the current situation. I'm an immigrant looking to get my PR, I have qualifications from one of the top universities in the world, experience as an international consultant and most important I do respect the Canadian culture and follow the rules. However, even for me it is uncertain what is going to happen? and/or if the government will make more changes and kick us out hahaha. I do believe that immigration has poured a lot of money into Canadian's pockets and most of them are not considering that, some of that money is going to go to another country who is willing to manage immigration with a better approach and provide a more certain perspective to new immigrants. The government allowed many bad actors (locals and foreigners) to take advantage of the system and those who are going to pay the bill are new immigrants due to political elections, and that is just sad. We will see who are they going to blame for mismanagement of public resources and the possible crash of several industries, that are currently relaying on foreign money, once there are no new immigrants to blame. I agree with most of the new rules regarding immigration, but I strongly disagree with the political approach of how the government is blaming immigrants for their lack of proper management. I still believe Canada is a great country no matter the outcome of my personal immigration process, wish you all the best of luck!

Starting around the year 2000, prices started to spike up, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300% while interest rates went to almost 0. Same with rent price increases.....crazy prices over the last 10 years....25, 50, over 100% price increases......Over 20 years of kaos. And now look at the mess you greedy government parasites, unions, bankers have created. Mass immigration, major government growth - spending – debt – control..., super low interest rates, mass immigration = crazy housing, rental prices......poor Canada, what a mess created by all you greedy governments, all political parties.....The only way housing prices get back to where they should be is a crash...bring it on.....the sooner the better. There is not such a situation where immigrants are happily welcomed, no matter where you come from, where you are at. This is a business model run by goverments to make profit. In the case of Canada, they did not know how to run their business properly.

I don’t she realizes that anyone who has crossed into the United States without proper documentation permitting residency is barred from applying for US residency for a decade. As an aside, just wait until the Trump tariffs hit her gas tank, her groceries, most appliances and clothing. As an Indian living in India it disgusts me that my countrymen act as if India is heaven and then want to go to the west 'illegally'. Not enough people are being sent back. Also, I don’t feel sorry for them because when my parents came to Canada, they went through the proper channels and filled out all the paperwork they needed to. As soon as they got here they found jobs which was in abundance at the time. So trying fake anything just to come here is unfair to the others who do it the legal way.

My question is how are visa issued even without proper background check. Should not they check the authenticity of the application. I understand most of the indians from some part of the country want to migrate so desperately thats also wrong. Please make sure you keep on including background check in future immigration visa atleast. But I am also happy to that they are getting deported because karma is a bitch.
