Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

How truly sad and disgusted I am at Trump's attack on Canada, Mexico and all his allies. It is beyond comprehension that Trump is being allowed by the Congress and the Senate to trample on the Allies of the USA. I am in Australia and I feel the concern and the pain being suffered by Canadians, historically the like us, alllies of the USA, because of the treachery and betrayal by the USA, whilst supporting despots like Putin in its attacks on our democratic way of life. We are in dangerous times indeed. Where we end up only God knows. I know onr thing for sure God is not on the side of the USA in its treachery.

Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

I grew up 30 min from the Canadian border. Canada has always been a neighbor and a friend. I cannot believe what has happened to our government and I did not vote for this. The majority of America does not want this and do not want Trump. Please know that.

The people might not know this but Canada is an amazing country. People have no idea how Canadians have built a fantastic country in some of the toughest conditions. Canadians are some of the most polite, helpful and kind people.

As an American, I've been trying to work out in Alberta as a Pipe Insulator for over five years with no response, but you guys let in other foreign nations. Trump is a bully. He knows that Canada is vulnerable. Trump wants the Auto industry in Canada moved to the U.S.. This will increase the cost of vehicles in the U.S. Trump does not care. If he can harm Canada he will be pleased. He wants to control Canada.. Canada is guilty of not arranging an alternative to the Keystone pipeline. The U.S. refineries need the Canadian heavy oil. If Canada had created pipelines to Vancouver they would be in a better position but as it is Trump wins.

Justin, let’s look at the record of your friends in the West. USA has over decades bombed and killed millions of Muslims in Arab countries. Today the murders continue to go one without a peep from you or your western leader friends. In the last week the US has bypassed Congress to ship billions of dollars of bombs to Israel so Israel can with these US bombs cleanse Gaza. So Israel can steal the Palestinian lands so Trump can built a resort and hotels in these stolen Palestinian lands.\nSo what about Ukraine? Same story, different tactic. NATO with your consent poked the Russian bear for decades before Russia, whose warnings about NATO expansion went unheeded. I know a lot of people are tired of JT. And they have their reasons. But as a Canadian, I have to say that he did a good job addressing this issue.
