This is missing SOOOO much of the actual story of what is going on over here. There is a lot of corruption in our housing market fueled by faked incomes just for starters. That's not including the massive supply and demand crunch we are facing on multiple fronts from having too much people suddenly, to having not enough housing suddenly. For those curious, you can find some CBC marketplace videos that cover some of this from a couple years back. The banks have been caught f'ing around as well, what with pushing through mortgage requests that should never have been allowed to occur; and that's just what we know about. \n\nNo offense to anyone in this video, or anyone else like them. We know that a good large chunk of most of you are not at fault here with what's going on. But there are some people from all sorts who are all doing their own dirty little deeds, and they are culminating into the gigantic pile of BS that the rest of us now get to deal with. \n\nAnd make no mistake, what I am saying is not even close to the full extent of the BS going on. This is just one facet of it. There still is the universities mentioned that we need to talk about, whom have been fleecing internationals for years now. Or our employers who have gotten real used to having access to basically almost slave labor by comparison the wages and employees they would have to normally deal with. \n\nAnd again, none of this is being said to blame those who come here looking for a better life. If anything, I want to apologize for the BS you found here as well, that was well hidden by the BS masters who got you to come here. \n\nBut just like how oxygen feeds a fire without necessarily meaning to... well... let's just say that a downturn in applications is a really good thing for us right now. \n\nCome if you want, but don't come unprepared. I would like to enlighten you newbies that is bashing the present goverment of this country ,if it was not for Justin father there would be very limited amount of black and brown people here ,i am living here for over 50 years and live under the diffrent goverment and let me tell you that its only the Liberals that really look out for us ,we were class the undesirable back then by the conservatives and that was told to me by the wife of one of them ,she blame the liberals for oping up the country to let in the undesirable ,so before you go bashing Justin maybe you should thank him and his dad for letting you in this country .

I was just forced by my husband to come here in 2010. I never plan to live abroad but I went for the sake of the kids and dont want regret. My husband is mentally ill even before we got married(family took advantage of me when they saw I was an independent widow that time). Upon arriving here, nothing was prepared,no beds no nothing just the social housing and he was already orienting me to get food from food bank and simply convinced me to follow here for the child benefits,free education and healthcare. Let me just mention, the family of my husband is claiming they were rich and prominent in the Philippines. Fast forward....14 years after, he didnt get a house for us....I just ran after him for child support....he didnt finish the divorce process that I ask him to do upon arrival....now, that its time for him to pay tution fee for college, he is mad! He is so desperate that he brainwashed one of his sons to blame me and make me feel like the whole thing is my fault! My son almost killed me last time bec his dad getting sympathy and ranting that he has no money. This is the biggest regret of my life......I believe if my sons are educated and grew up in the Philippines, they are more happy and was able to tap all their talents and intelligence. I am done here! And for people telling me that the money we earn here we dont get in the Philippines....sorry, my peace of mind and dignity has no price tag. I am not materialistic too. Respect to humanity is all we need!

SIMPLIFYING the whole issue in a Short Story- \n\nYou rented a room for $ 500 in a 2 bed room house. Next day, your landlord had a new tenant from B City who gonna pay $ 5000 rent monthly with same or lesser facilities. \n\nTo keep Tenant B, the landlord needs permission from the City. Your landlord finds this an opportunity and keep on adding new B tenants in other room, with the permission from the City.\n\nNow your LL is enjoying the money, but you and other B tenants are struggling for a common space. But LL isn't listening to anyone's complaints. Not even doing the repairs and expanding the house.\n\nOne day, the house collapsed. CITY blamed B Tenants as they were overcrowded in one room.\n\nLL is a College. City is govt.\nB tenants are international students.

He blames immigration for Canadians being homeless, yet he’s the one bringing all of the immigrants here….hoping for their votes…and he could care less if Canadians are homeless or not…as long as he gets the immigrants to vote for him.

Canada was built by immigrants no doubt. When Canadians are unwilling to do the low pay hard labour, and give birth to kids, there has to be immigrants to fill the gap. Housing crisis is the elephant in the room, it has been around for quite a while. Remember one decade ago in Vancouver #donthaveonrmillion? Its worse now. International students became easy solution/target for politicians to blame because they cannot vote. They were considered as solution of labour shortage back during Covid then there was a labour shortage. Sean Fraser the minister of immigration back then made it super easy for international students to stay in Canada permanently. When he takes the office of Minister of Housing, he starts to point fingers to those students. Who let them into this country in the first place? We need more roads more houses. IRCC needs to work faster to get more skilled workers doctors into the country. Putting a cap on current immigration level is not a good idea.

SHAME on the canadian government for putting the focus on international students!!! Done because they can blame the provincial governments and make people ignore that they changed visas to mexico, changed the refugee claimant laws, and increased exponentially the number of people entering and then waiting for a hearing on the asylum claim. As a landlord, here's the difference between international students and migrants: One has money and pays me rent monthly on time, while the other one sleeps in the park, or somewhere else, PAID by the government. The issue aren't the people entering and giving us their money, it's the new huge welfare class called migrants that is draining the system.

I'm SO fed up with how these stories are framed.\n\nStep one: Say the students are the victim. Talk about all the good they do. How productive they are. How much money they bring. Say don't blame the students.\n\nNO ONE IS BLAMING THE STUDENTS!!!\n\nStep two: Make the reason we have to slow down study permits is because we can't provide for the students. We can't house them. \n\nWHY IS THAT OUR RESPONSIBILITY? Why do we have to provide for them? They aren't citizens. They aren't permanent residents. Them coming here is a PRIVELIGE. \n\n\nWhy can't the answer just be that we have to lower numbers because life is totally unaffordable for Canadians/PRs. As if that alone isn't a good enough reason. As if we should just accept lower standards of living because we have to take care of international students.\n\nSo sick of these narratives.

The govt knows that 95% of the international students are here for the PR and no shame on that… but the govt have to keep up with housing and other requirements that students going to need… you let students comes to Canada and they only can work for 30 hours week minimum wage. No one can survive with that… I don’t blame the kids I only blame this govt.

I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... Public safety should never be compromised. Canada and the US are on the wrong track and both these countries need to punched pretty bad so that they learn a lesson. Both these countries have decriminalized crimial behavior and habits. Drug use and drug trade is very prolific in bth these countries and violent crimminals are operating with impunity. The ones you both have to worry about hurting children are: policemen, priests, youth pastors, politicians, your unassuming creep neighbor, principal, people of authority who are supposed to be trusted to keep children safe from harm are the ones who have hurt children. I had such a trouble getting an apartment because of AirBnB's and other short term rentals. Having people only live in town for 6 weeks of the year before leaving town again for the rest of it. The lumber mill has was sending as much as it could down south to the US during the pandemic so what build materials one could get was extremely overpriced and low quality making renovations take forever do to the lack of materials.\n\nWhen I was living in Labrador there was a hydro project and speculation caused rent to go from 500 to 2000 CND. The lack of rent control was crazy. I had no chance of ever moving back to my hometown and I'm stuck with part time work where I am.

I don't blame the people leaving Canada especially the ones who were smart with their money and saved enough in thier younger years. They probably have the freedom to live comfortably in warmer and much more affordable countries.

Not just the housing crisis, but just the general economy. Immigration in the current circumstances is nothing more than a threat of allowing ideological extremists and other such 'enemies' into our country, while simultaneously making everything more expensive for the average Canadian, ON TOP OF our tax dollars being funneled into wars halfway across the globe that *DO NOT CONCERN US,* and probably diverting a significant portion of that into hidden accounts of our 'supreme leaders', and finally 'Multiculturalism' is just a failed experiment that weakens our values, culture, and ethics.\n\nI don't hate or blame the individuals that are coming here because they aren't the ones at fault, they're just reacting to world circumstances.
