It's ok for other countries to stand up for themselves but obviously its not ok for the United States to stand up themselves. In my mind, the best case scenario is that trump and his regime are lacking the ability to think long term strategically. The worst case scenario is that they are throwing grenades at the status quo, to create fake reasons to allow for expansion of US territory and make space for china and russia to do the same.

When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world. Canada should put a hold on the F35, and work with Saab JAS39Gripon, or the join Euro-fighter. Canadas interests are more in global trade partners, Japan Taiwan, S, Korea and Europe. For long term development, a focus should be with Scandinavian North Atlantic Arctic partners.
