Idk i think you need to realize that we also have our bias in addition to you having yours. Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. What is normal and known /familiar and normal so we aren’t ignorant to , is completely different. \n\nFor us we have our pockets usually in more rural less populated areas further away from larger cities where there is more diversity but that’s the same often in many countries that you will find some of the louder racist homophobic intolerant voices typically in places that truly are unfamiliar and ignorant to the experience of growing up with and around much of any diversity of varying kinds. So it’s not to say we don’t have racism and intolerance of course like anywhere we do. It’s just contained and the range and frequency and intensity is MUCH different. We distinguish nuances of diff cultures and religions more easily and in larger numbers we’re more familiar with diff ways of life , language , food, dress , holidays , values and used to a much less segregated way of existing even when we are differnt from each other as the NORM. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Quite honestly. \n\nI think the absolute undying favourable passionate upholding and support of nationalistic, capitalist, hyper individualistic mentality about society as a whole (from my Canadian born and bred perspective lol) makes the differences even more glaring blaring and hard to swallow for us lol. I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Many people came to Canada to take advantage of this wonderful nation. My beloved city of Toronto turned into a third world country. I'm now in Alberta where I work hard and pay my taxes. My Canada is a paradise on earth. My Canada deserves people who loves it. I had my hardship in my early years and that was what I had to go through. When new immigrants try to cut corners, I always remind them to earn their muthafuka turn. The liberal party screwed up Canada. Chances are one day I will end up leaving Canada for good but before that I'm keeping my Canada great.

I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I'm thankful there's a place like Canada close to where I was born or I can spend the rest of my life enjoying it as opposed to looking over my shoulder constantly. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Winters in Ontario, like here in Ottawa, can be very cold once January and February come around. But once you make it into the middle of march, you can almost smell spring in the air and somewhere on the way. But there are those dreaded 8 weeks of oh my God ?

As a current international student I can say I am happy for all this changes Canada is doing in the immigration system sadly it was taken advantage by too many indians and people from africa that came here with not the best intentions, I can confidently say if in my case is not possible to stay I will happily return to central america with good memories and good friendships and start working again. thats life

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

You need to look back to before Bill Clinton when immigration was not a issue really because people came and went freely from Mexico...only after the GOP took control of Congress, then Clinton was basically forced to pass the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. Been in Canada almost 20 years as a citizen. Went to university and college. Got a degree and a diploma in economics and accounting but no jobs. Finally became a realtor while working for a property management company who then wanted to fire me for getting licensed instead of using my skills. Similar to my sister who came and went to university. Did the 4 year RN degree and became a registered nurse… but couldn’t get a job in the hospitals because a certain group of people only wanted to hire their own. Canada has a fundamental problem apart from the unaffordable living conditions and high taxes

i'm happy there are people here who agree, but having your voice heard only as a youtube comment is not the answer. do you know how countries in europe managed to get ahead in healthcare? patients went to the press with recorded videos about their experience. and yes, initially the journalists dismissed this as non news, but it only needed one to go with it. and it made waves. now a 2hr wait in the ER in europe is met by the tv crew. \ncanadians refuse to do it. when i came to canada 25 years ago a 2hr wait was normal. now it's 9hrs and still no discontent voices. no politician is running on healthcare, but on cutting taxes and on giving back a few hundred dollars a year back to the families. and most are eating it up! \nbecause healthcare is public, doctors and their union have 0 incentive of allowing more professionals into the system, because they all share the same pie. there are families who do not have a family doctor and are forced to use clinics, even with newborn babies. my family doctor works a regular job, doesn't answer the phone after 3:30 (even though they are open until 4), has 2-half days (one is a golf day btw) and overall couldn't give a F about patients. on that high salary in any other industry, you'd be on call 24/7. \nand then there's housing, jobs, the education system is a mess - more and more people are worried about what these kids are learning and there is 0 incentive from any of the politicians to address the issue.\nand, of course, there is forced immigration. when we came it used to be a merit system, you had to bring in money to prove you won't be a burden to welfare for at least a year. it's definitely not the case now. \npeople look at PP as some kind of saviour, but he's not going to fix anything. usually conservatives are good for corporations, whilst liberals balance their policies with the needs of the common folk. how far they've fallen.

I find it remarkable that the pew is saying there is a total sum of 11 million when we know by 2023 that 12 million illegals under Biden alone has come. if that doesn't prove that graph or pew are lying stats I don't know what is. But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

So its basically sonething of an National Registrar for Citizens programme in India. \n\nContext - It all began in Northeast India, a tegion which has been neglected by the Indian government for quite a long time. The region is populated by Hindus speaking Assamese (in Assam), Bengali (in Tripura) & Meitei (in Manipur), with a large significant population of Tibeto-Burmese tribal populations following either Christianity, their own folk religions or integrated with Hindus & a minority of Bengali Muslims (mostly in Assam). This area was conquered by the British in 1820s, & with the British came a lot of non-native peoples (mostly Bengali speaking people), thereby making the noatives absolutely hate their presence. Following the Partition of India, many Bengali Hindus fleeing persecution migrated to Northeast India, fuelling further unrest. Over time, a large number of Bengali Muslims from what is now Bangladesh illegally migrated into the Northeast & integrated themselves with the local Muslim population (settled by the British), thereby changing the regional demographics based on religion. In the 1980s the increasing number of Bengali Muslims in the Northeast Indian state of Assam sparked an insurrection, which was put down after the Indian government promised to identify & deport illegal immigrants. Similar rebellions also broke out in other states of Northeast India by the tribal population against the rise in numbers of Bengali Hindus seeking shelter from religious persecution by Muslims in Bangladesh. However, very little progress was made in identifying illegal immigrants in Northeast India. After 2011 census revealed that Muslims outnumbered Hindus in Assam (but the combined Hindu-tribal populated outnumbered Muslims), talks began about setting a registrar & tribunal to speed up the process of identifying & deporting illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. This picked up pace after the Hindu nationalist BJP party came to power in the union government in 2014 & in Assam's state government in 2016. Around 2018, the Assam government started the National Register of Citizens to register the names of all people of the state provided that they can show proof of their/their parents being present in the state before 1971, inabilty to do so would cause to stand trial before a Foreigners' Tribunal to prove their citizenship or face deportation. This exercise was fraught with allegations of xenophobia, with Bengali Hindus, Gorkhas (settled by the British from Nepal to serve in the army) & Austro-Asiatic tribals (settled by the British to work as labourers in tea gardens) being branded as illegal infiltrators alongside Bengali Muslims. Those who were unable to prove their citizenship ended up rounded in detention centres, eventually to be deported out, which at that time many in Europe & USA had compared with Nazi concentration camps. \nIt would be interesting to see whether this same Nazi analogy is drawn up in case of the Trump administration doing the same as what happened in India.

Has anyone asked where's Mexico in all of this? everyone seems to forget that they're America's southern neighbor, and they're not helping with anything to mitigate the border crisis. Mexico has to be sanctioned, because they're not actively partaking in the protection of the shared border with the US, they're allowing immigrants to cross the border unchecked, sparing themselves the trouble of dealing with them. They're throwing the ball in America's court, making immigration America's problem. Since they share the border with America, they have an obligation to combat illegal immigrantion but they're not doing that. They want to get rid of their crimnals and the poverty in their country not by enforcing the law and trying to invest in their infrastructure to enhance the living standards of their people, instead they're encouraging them to move to America to find a better life. America doesn't have to pay the price of Mexico being a failed country. They're turning their backs on their own citizens and trying to get rid of them, obliging them to take the perilous journey across the border where they're prone to crime, drugs, rape, human trafficking, sex trafficking, child abuse and all sorts of tragedies but to them the ends justify the means, and they have the nerves to call America racist and inhumane for not rescuing them from the situation that they created for them in the first place. Since the vast majority of illegal immigrants came across the border with Mexico, they should be deported back to Mexico, and Mexico can take it from there, not our problem anymore

I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. It's lost its politeness, manner, rules etc. I no longer want to live here, I plan to move back to my country after a few years. And I don't really go to Tim Hortons anymore cuz the Indians are taking over all the franchises and lowered the standards of Hygiene and friendliness. I don't think I'm being racist, cuz I'm not having all these negative feelings based on their skin colour or origin. It's purely based on real life experiences in dealing with them.

And another thing she don't realize is. They don't just come to your house and say okay. You guys get together and get your stuff. We're gonna put you in a bus and take you back to the border. No, they violently arrest you like your criminal. And throw you in jail for months sometimes years at a time waiting to be deported. And if you think you'll all be deported at once, you got another thing coming. The man might go and jump. The woman might go in July. The kids might go separately next year. If you don't believe me. I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

Part of me feels bad because I feel like she's so brainwashed, but the other part of me has no mercy. Because you can't be that ignorant at that age. Shame on you. But what she don't realize is. The she would be going with her family. Your daddy Trump doesn't care if you came here legally. His white supremest people he put in charge. Do not care anything about you. It's sad because when they come to get her family. They'll be putting cuffs on her too.

It’s very sad the opinion of this lady. After she climbed the ladder she removed it, so other people cannot climb it. Probably she came illegally to this country. In few months she will regret her actions, being that Trump will bring “chaos” to our nation.

Canada should take care of their homeless people first before accepting refugees from the United States since Trump won the election where he will deport any illegal immigrants. My question is: How did these illegals obtain jobs? I’m sure Trump had illegals working for him. Does Trump realize that businesses will suffer when these people are deported because there won’t be anyone hired to do their jobs? Sending these people back to where they came from will cost the tax payers millions because Trump certainly won’t be paying for their fares.

Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that came here as kids grew up in some neighborhoods that are not so great and mainly are kids that were born here that are in gangs or doing drugs or violent so don’t blame immigrants saying they bring all this with them it was already here … drugs gangs violence was already here. Gangs started in the White House with their red and blues. Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them.
