Canada is Too Too Too Lonly not little bit lonly . cost of living and Tax are So High peeple work two jobs 7 days how they can make time for Family then Extream cold weather goes for 8 months dead life yoi don't go to wedding All you have is a car thats your entertainment you go to Mall look at strangers you to beach Alone What a miserable life . if you wana enjoy life poor countiea are better and village side thats my conclusion this is sweet prison

They say to try a place out for 6 months first. It LOOKS a certain way but there's things we don't see.\nI have visited other places but my home remains right for me.\nI so dislike traveling, the process. I didn't find it all that much better than home. Home was best. I don't want to learn another language, shop differently. If you're from Africa, then your heart is there.

Something worth to add is that most people are addicted to their stupid cell phone. I only had two friends I would have breakfast or lunch with. I stopped going out with them because they were always glued to their phones. It's always better to be by yourself than with bad company.

Sri lankan here, totally agree about Canada. You dont see anybody outside. You only see you neighbors once a week when they put out their garbage or shovel the snow for 9 months. Only 3 months in the summer you see few people here and there. Its very depressing, stressful, and anxious. I've been here for 30yrs and still can't get used to it. I travel.alot and many tropical places are very poor but they're happy enjoying and lively. If my country is not committing genocide and corruption, my country sri lanka is beautiful. I was hoping the country will get better, its been 30yrs and its at the worst situation presently.

I was born in USA but this man speaks 100% truth. \n\nI feel afraid, lonely , depressed in California. People are mean, rude, cold, violent. So lonely people don't talk to nobody only to fight. Too much drugs. \n\nI'm visiting my parents in Mexico and I like Mexico better. People are very friendly there is crime but not too much. Right here it is nice lovely friendly people say hi friendly neighbors.\n\nUSA is full of everything virtual, everything online and yes consumerism , materialistic and yes very plastic. Working day and night never home. Stupid. I know a lot of people like my uncle always at work never home working 7 days a week like slaves and not ever home just to sleep. Ridiculous. \n\nMy Dad retired and went back to Mexico by Otay and I'm visiting my parents a lot here in Mexico more freedom and very friendly people friendly neighbors. \n\nNot horrible lonely America. In America too much cell phones nobody talks only text. Cold people no interaction no socialize only depression, drugs, drugs, drugs, money money, money, cell phones all day and fighting . \n\nPeople mean rude in USA I fight with everybody in USA too much racism. I lived in America for more than 20 years. The loneliness, boredom, emptiness as well as racism was too much to handle. I retired early and moved back home in Africa. Am the happiest I’ve ever been. Family everywhere, organic good food, never Lonely, sunshine overall mentality much much better. You couldn’t pay me enough to go back. What a boring life in western counties.

I worked with a guy from Ghana in Newark NJ. He had married an American woman who bossed him around and didn't really care for him. He lost a lot of money in a church pyramid scheme and I think the American diet contributed to him having a heart attack and later a stroke that killed him. I saw a video on Ghana and I really thought he would have been so much better staying in Ghana and probably would have had a much better and longer life.

Sir an Indian in Canada here. If I think of year 2000 or before, all that you said would have been true for India-Canada comparison too. But now India is as good as Canada, and pays equally good salary too. In some aspects India is worse, but in some aspects like technology, etc. we are better. Everything is improving very fast. I am equally open to jobs in India, and may go back to home in future.

I lived in Canada for 15 years and this rang true more & more as the years went on, I would never order food online as I needed an excuse to leave the house. At 49 I found myself pondering what to do with my life, I went on vacation to Thailand and the first thing that struck me was the openness and friendliness of the place. People sit in the front of their house with the doors open and everybody is welcome to say hi, of course there are exceptions. I now live in Thailand with my new wife in a small village, our doors are never locked, family comes, neighbours come, kids play, everybody is welcome anytime. Such a better way to live. I live in Germany and it‘s so like this…the solution for pple who are extroverts or for my fellow Africans who want to come to the 1st world , please live in the big cities, you will be better off and you will meet other like mind Africans and foreigners. Sounds like Canada is a better place for low skilled workers. Foreigners, especially those who immigrate illegally, are protected, even from being spoken against. In the US, they are mocked and Americans tey to run them out. The US does make it easier for high skilled workers, as long as they enter legally.

The unemployed rate is high in nfld because the system is rigged. You're better off on welfare than you are making minimum wage. A able bodied person getting taken care of ,where's the motivation. This is bullshit, it's not that bad, all the immigrants I know love it here, taxes are better in other provinces and pay is better in the higher tax provinces. It's the same stuff in the US. Like British Columbia has a tax of 15% but better pay, Saskatchewan has a provincial tax of 11% but lower pay and it works like that, we let people keep their country and culture here and alot of this is more untrue than true. Everything is relative. People move to canada thinking it is better than their home country. At the time of moving it maybe but the home country improved and become better than canada. so people move back. China is a good example. Unless you are in the trades, you will\nHave a very hard time getting a job in Canada even if you are here. \nI completely disagree with the non merit based crony system here, its very discriminatory and useless. The people who know the right people will get the job everyone else is screwed. Jobs suck here anyway, being and entrepreneur is better if you hustle

Better to settle in a Muslim country

I actually don't object , particularly, to my high taxes in Canada. I do object to the fact that it took me , 15 extra working years to achieve a reasonable income due to the cost of an education being beyond my reach. Now that I have a reasonable income, I find those high taxes spent poorly. Dental care and extended medical or medications? Not covered.\n\nSo where do these high taxes go? Comparing my tax rate to the functional half of Europe's countries, it's about the same, more or less. \n\nBut they have better health care, affordable education and housing.\n\nAnd as others have pointed out, despite living in the biggest city, it's still relatively boring to many of the Major cities I've stayed in globally.\n\nI recommend Canada to immigrants who would enjoy a Rural or Suburban lifestyle that still has access to amenities and infrastructure. There are more opportunities in some ways, and the costs of living are much more affordable. But if you are interested in an urban life with what that has come to mean globally, the best Canadian cities can offer you is 'diverse restaurant options'.

Canadas better and safer and funner than usa

Let me tell you something from my own experience, and at 82 y.o. a have plenty of it. If someone chooses a country into which to emigrate, he or she makes a choice to accept the conditions and adjusts to them. Canada is not a place to baby disgruntled outsiders, but gives them a chance to become Canadian. If you expect anything different, you don't deserve that chance. \nI was born in Vienna, Austria, emigrated with my girl friend to New Zealand, got married there and created two new little Kiwis, and after 5 years we packed up our family and relocated to California, where we brought up our son and daughter as Americans. We'll never forget our Austrian heritage, and are forever thankful to the friendly Kiwis for the start in life they gave us. But, once we decided to move to the US, we accepted the life style of our new neighbors and tried to fit into their society as well as we could. When we reached retirement age, we bought a modest home in Oregon, where we still live now and proudly fly the US flag on appropriate occasions. For the privilege of choosing your country, you better show your gratitude and your worth.

It takes me 3 months to get a doctor appointment in the US here in Seattle and I was just told several months to see my eye doctor. Depending on medical plan the insurance means you do not go to the specialist without a referral. So Canadians may not have as much to complain about. My parents were immigrants to Canada because it was easier (my father was in Danish Merchant Marine and was in China Sea when his appointment would come up in New York). They did not have it easy because they did not speak the language and worked hard to learn. Working as a housekeeper was the norm for females and my mother's education meant nothing when she expected to work in a bank. Danes stuck together and helped each other to get jobs, with carpentry (most had apprenticeships like brick laying), to socialize, etc. and this is normal for immigrants. Working multiple jobs was normal and having a great home was their American dream instead of a government apartment. It is true for all immigrants that their kids will do better than the parents. The kids will have no accent if they learn English by age 12. There are age cutoffs on learning a language in child development. During the hiring process the jobs are given to people the interviewer perceives as being like themselves. This is proven by psychologists (I am one). This puts immigrants at a disadvantage unless they have a rare skill without competition. Dad got his house and Mom took my sister and went back to Denmark because of health issues and the US has garbage medical care and social services for the elderly (poor sister didn't speak Danish because it wasn't allowed in case it impacted our English skill). As a daughter of immigrants I worked 20 hours days and weekends almost all my life. I put myself through school and have been successful despite being female and making much less than men. Immigrants need to realize that it will be their kids who make the big bucks and succeed while the parents who immigrated will struggle. As a cultural mix (US, Canadian and Danish citizen because of wacky sexist rules) I have had a lot of confusion over the years trying to fit in and figure out what my values are. I have had to ask my US husband is that behavior normal? Of course different states in the US or going 200 miles north to Canada means a different language to speak (Canadian or Spanish in the South) and different values, ways of dress, etc. so being an immigrant can mean just traveling 200 miles north or to an insane state like Texas or New York. Culture shock is everywhere but most of us move for the money. I am thinking of going back to Canada but my home was Vancouver and that now looks like a hell hole. My husband had over a million dollars in medical care and I really do not wish to lose all my assets to medical costs in the US. So now I am trying to choose between death by earthquake in BC somewhere or death by tornado or perhaps fire storm in Calgary due to climate change.

Canada is very immigrant friendly in terms of accepting immigrant to come yes but why ? well because immigration is a big business for this country who has not much technology export and in the same time is second biggest country in the world with population less then California alone . Somebody has to pay the rent and who is better then new comers cause they are well , new and don't know anything lol but after they come here with false hopes and everybody from all directions rip them off well , they loos all the savings and if they are lucky start working at Tim Hortons lol with high rents and cost of living lots of them choose to go back and I am not talking about people coming to Canada from very poor countries like all the Filipino's , for them working in Tim Hortons with minimum wage is a big achievements lol I am talking about people from middle class countries and above . Immigration for Canada is a big money maker and who gives a shit if they go back after a year or 2 , they already contribute to government's by loosing their money and working like a hors for couple of years and pay 45% taxes . Listen any country which is easy ( kind of ) to immigrate its because they need money and cheap workers . Can you immigrate to US or Denmark or any other European country as easy as you can to Canada ? the answer is no with very big N unless you have some thing they don't or need and that thing is not money lol

Canada is like 3 countries in one, so it really depends where you are, especially if you wish to talk about culture. Im guessing you are in western Canada because that part is one of the youngest parts of Canada, it doesnt have much culture. Tho if you are in central Canada (Ontario) you'll most get a blend of american and english culture. The place where hawaiian and canadian pizza invented. Ontario is obsessed with pizza. \nTho the Eastern part is where Canadian culture is at its strongest AKA French Canada. Thats where most Canadian traditions like the Rigodon music and traditional food comes from such as: Pâté Chinois, Tourtière, Poutine, Donair, Poudigne Chômeur, Tarte au Sucre, Tarte au Fraise et Rhubarb and so on. French Canada even has its own version of french, its so different from the rest of the world that when a when they meet they wont understand half the words each sides say. French Canadian is based on the old french of the French nobility tho it completely disapeared in France during the revolutionary era because everyone that spoke it got executed. So french Canadian is basically a unique language now, i can totally see it getting rename as Canadian the language of Canada in the future especially of the west does indeed seperate. Not sure where you ladies migrated from but the healthcare in Canada is terrible for a country that calls itself wealthy! What is more important in life than health and getting timely access to services. I have had to wait 6 months for a simple ultrasound, my friends had to wait a year for an MRI, more than a year to see a specialist of any kind. Not only that the administration procedures are backward where they send an appointment letter by Canada Post (not kidding). \nTaxes are extremely high! I know doctors who make decent money pay close to 55% of their salary in taxes. Housing in Toronto and Vancouver is sky high and you may be working all your life to afford a 2BR condo. \nMy advice is unless you are coming from a country that is down right terrible (Eastern European, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc.), it is better to stay home. Additionally, if you think you will ever get rich in Canada, then you must get your head examined by a neurologist first.

Take it from an American don’t come to America there more opportunities than Canada , but it sucks healthcare is not free and so many American are stupid . I hate my country .
