Its hilarious to me that Canadians have this big image of what we are like with all of the war, food, and football etc... \nwhen people here kind of forget Canada exists. I literally don't know anything about Canada except the maple leaf and something about health insurance?

Let's put it another way... I was born in Canada and I had moved abroad at 30 for work and was gone for about 10 years. When I got back, it happened to be the same year our PM was waiting at the airport for the arrival of some refugees with winter coats for them and their Medicare cards, as well as housing provided for them. I had to run around for a full month trying to get my drivers license renewed since it had expired, and had to wait a full 6 months to get a probationary Medicare card, p-r-o-b-a-t-i-o-n-a-r-y....I felt outraged. I am not saying that many don't have a valid reason to flee their country, but when they know that they will receive housing and cash, of course people will flock to Canada, even if they aren't fleeing something.

It’s sad and disgusting to read the comments by all these privileged entitled little bit.ches who’s greatest accomplishment in life was being born on a different part of the the world than this man and they feel they have the right to open their mouths with such righteousness. What would you do for your family or at least for yourself if you were born in a country where there was poverty and crime every single day of your childhood. This guy was MAN enough to risk his life to leave his country leaving family behind just so that he didn’t die. And I know what your first ignorant comment is gonna be “he could’ve done it legally”. No he couldn’t because if he could I’m sure he would have done it. And he even tried to do it legally here in Canada and spent $15K and was denied. But here you all sit behind a keyboard all brave with your privileged entitled life judging a man who all he wants is a better life for his family. And to the “men” who are commenting and judging this man as “an everyday criminal” I guess you wouldn’t give a s.hit for your wives and kids if they were living in a dangerous and poor country or being sent back to an environment where you could potentially be killed the first week you’re back. I guess you would all just say “fu.ck them let them die”. You fu.c.king cowards.

I dunno why ppl thinks Canada is easier than US... they accept you at the moment you cross the border, but the changes of staying are really slim. Don't come with high expectations. Do your homework first. It took me 10 years, tons of time and thousands of dollars to finally get my PR. I know for a fact is not easy.

These people just really want to work but I can honestly say that maybe God is working in their favor because this country is going down and God is going to do it , so maybe it's a blessing in disguise , and to the Caucasian how are you gonna get upset at people for doing the same thing you did, why because you write on your Constitution I didn't know you were God, God didn't put you here either... Speaking as a person who came to Canada and hopes to get a PR in the coming year: The view that Canada welcomes anyone can´t be further from the truth. If you are a skilled worker, you´ve gone to school and you are relatively young, getting a citizenship is very straightforward, but if you don´t, Canada won´t have you, and you know what? it´s OK: all countries have the right to determine their immigration policy and enforce it. Canada´s point system is very transparent, you can calculate your points by yourself online. Not here to judge that guy, but a little research might have saved him a lot of trouble.

I feel sorry for him and his family, I don't know much about Canada, I but from what I heard they are EVEN STRICTER than the US aren't they?

I am actually shocked to see this information. I did not know. I travelled to Vancouver & Vancouver Island 5X. 2X with my African-American girlfriend. I didn't see any biased behavior at all. Of course, I was not looking for it. We were treated courteously on both sides of the boarder. My grandmother was held as a White slave for most of her youth (indentured servant) in Canada. So, I knew through her that it was one of the possibilities. I am sorry to learn of it. This is a great issue for Americans to get over.

Why are you comparing the US to Canada when it is apparent you know little about the US or Canada.  You couldn't even explain your healthcare system and didn't know that Canada's military aircraft are in the Royal Canadian Air Force not the Army.

well I am a Christian Canadian and I fear for my life because Islam is a political movement made to look like a religion and Islam believes in hating and killing anyone who is not Islamic and Canada is getting closer and closer to sharia law every time the law here excepts one of Islam's rules and all those people want to do is take over the world and Canada is rolling out the carpet and bowing down to Sharia law but I want to know is this still Canada or is it a Islamic State because it's starting to look like the latter to me.

I know racism happens everywhere, but can a real conscious black person in Canada inform me on the kind if racism there?

I would very much like the muslims to tell us real Canadians what contributions that they are making to our country as a whole. How are they making life in Canada better? How are they bringing stability and growth to our country? They spend time teaching their silly little book to the people in their flock but nothing about Canada, our values, our hopes and aspirations for the country. The silly little book does nothing to further the common good of Canada. It only forwards the wants of the muslim community.\nAnd finally, religion is the bane of intellectual thought. i live in Canada and I've know about 20 black people over the past 15 years, every single one of them either stole, sold drugs, was involved in some kind of fraud or pimped women. this is not a joke, just my experience.

Nice video, Derek. I'm gonna add something you didn't even mention. Here in the U.S., there is the Patriot Act, and a growing Police State. Our liberties and Constitutional rights are being trampled by the day. Our privacy is being lost at an alarming rate, and there are more checkpoints than ever before, tighter security measures at airports than ever before, metal detectors even at high schools for students just to attend class, and worst of all shootings of innocent people by cops (often homeless, mentally ill, etc.) than ever before. I don't know for sure, but I don't think Canada has the degree of the same problems, and if they do, they certainly aren't at the magnitude that they are happening here in the states. Those shootings are about 2,000-3,000 just in the last year!! Please be careful, especially in California, and know your U.S. Constitutional rights if/when you get stopped on the road or anywhere else.

I live in Northern Ontario, and I have never actually been to thr USA, but I know someone who moved to Milwaukee and moved back to Canada because he couldn't handle certain mentalities people had. He said it definitely wasn't everyone, but the whole gun thing freaked him out. He knew a lot of people who carried guns around regularily, and so he always felt he needed to censor himself so he didn't want to offend or make anyone angry, because of thr guns. His brother lives in California and he loves it there, but Milwaukee wasn't for him. It was an interesting conversation

I feel extremely sad and sick about the invasion of Muslim, Based on history, I know this invasion is planned they are here to conquer the lands. Nobody ignores that the objetive is to dominate the whole world which will be easier in 15 years when they became majority. I just hope I can get out of this country before the expand with the Sharia law. The culture is scary, from men to women the are agree with the sharia law, and liberals do not want to find out what that really means, but it will be too late when they get high positions all around the country. There is so much negativism associated with Islam and all Muslims get tarred with the same brush. They frighten us. Their dress is alien to us. ISIL and other groups do unspeakable things in the name of their religion. Their religion is too demanding. Christianity and other religions can adjust to scientific facts. We KNOW the world is round and there are other worlds, so far unpopulated, out there. Islam seems to demand adherence to its core beliefs written centuries ago and makes no concessions to emerging facts. Religion is the main influence in the life of Muslims and their Imams seem to have a lot to do with governance and education, instead of the separation of church and state to which we are used. If you come to Canada to live, then adjust to our values or leave, please. This doesn't mean that you have to stop attending a mosque but please discontinue the scary body coverings and start treating your women as equals, not chattels. Even some women will argue with that last bit, but why does a woman have to cover up and a man does not? This is NOT equality.

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... Blacks arent the problem in canada as much as it is in the US. There was no KKK here. The people that do deserve the knowledge is the Aboriginals. The government treated them bad and so did the churches. They are what the Canadian government should be addressing and not so much the blacks as they are just as equal as a white man in Canada now.
