how can one get a job offer ?most canadian employees only want to hire people already in the country ?‍♂️

Hi Igor, long time. I want to know, Am married. If I get the job offer from one of those province, am I allowed to travel with my wife? If so, is their any requirements needed from her? Please reply me brother.

I'm a white guy who lived in another country that wasn't a white majority country. There is discrimination in western countries, but there are ways to deal with it. The discrimination I had to deal with every day was much more than this, but nobody wants to know about that. The way I lived for those several years was to realize that I was different and I just had to maximize dealing with good people and when I knew that I would have to deal with something like having to get an apartment, I took that countries national with me knowing I would get a better deal. I was grabbed by officers at night and threatened. basically whatever is faced here, I had on a regular basis. At first, it pissed me off, but later, I came up with a way to maximize my life to get the best treatment I could. I didn't think I would be coming back to America, but eventually, I came back for more schooling and ended up staying.

It does hurt sometimes. One time me and a first nation older woman where running frantically to meet a bus, the driver could see us and he just left. We were about 30 seconds to the bus but he deliberately left in the freezing winter period, she was elderly. We both new it's because we were visible minority, not all drivers do this and in fact it was the first time it happened. Second case is getting an apartment that I've witnessed, though it hurt sometimes I don't necessarily blame them. If we want to make a change then we have to start with ourselves. Be the best human beings that we can be.

Psychology student here. In the interest of accurate information, I would like to point out some flaws I find with some of the studies in this documentary and question the conclusions reached. I understand that CBC Marketplace are not personality psychologists and therefore cannot be expected to produce the same quality of work as a scientist. However, I think it is worthwhile to think critically about the information in the media that we consume. I am also open to anyone who wants to engage in debating the contents of this documentary.\n\n\nThe following are some notes I took while watching the documentary outlining the individual hypotheses of the studies I think are flawed and descriptions of their respective accompanying errors. \n\n\nThere are three possible research questions, and thereby dependent variables, being answered by the apartment hunting studies.\n1. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \n \n2. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man between Toronto, Montreal, Regina, and Victoria, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could total apartments visited be a confounding variable? (4 in Toronto, 3 in Montreal, Regina, and Victoria) \nb. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \nc. They only showed the black man apartment hunting in some of the trials. I am considering him out of the study for consistency purposes. The first-nations man is the only one who got unfair treatment in the footage of apartment hunting. \n \n3. Possible hypothesis: If male landlords/agents are more discriminatory than female landlords/agents, then the white man and the first-nations man will get different treatment at different Canadian apartments in equally diverse cities. \na. Don’t know all the information about the genders of the landlords/agents, not all the footage is shown, but the ones where they get ripped off are male. The others shown are female. The remaining interactions are not shown.\n\n\nThere are also some factors that may have influenced the racial bias survey and, in my estimation, rendered it scientifically unreliable.\n\n\n1. The bias survey and accompanying tests at the CBC attributed the differences between the studies to unconscious racism. What if it was just due to familiarity with certain racial groups over others? \na. The black participants had no bias between European-American and African Americans, supposedly indicating no racism, while the white and first-nations participants did, supposedly indicating racism. Is it possible that another interpretation of this result is that bias is a function of familiarity: that we are comfortable with the majority demographic in the geographical location we live in, as well as our own kind. Therefore, the black guys are less biased against black people due to being both black and living in a white majority demographic? \nb. The participants took the survey knowing the objectives of the researchers was to study racial discrimination. They might have influenced the answers they gave \nc. Whether the participants agreed with identity politics or not was a confounding factor that was not controlled . You can only be racially unbiased biased if you think that racial identity is a means of accurately viewing the world. People who do not believe in the existence of identity politics may answer the questions quite differently, which could be a different reason for the results.\nd. I took the study myself. The words that participants were required to match were a mix of adjectives and nouns. It is known within psychology that nouns have higher levels of imagery. This was not properly controlled and therefore is another confounding variable. \n \nAll the other studies looked fine to me. I welcome any discussion on my observations.

I wish the United States would face this issue. I've been attacked in a store for unfair, and unfounded suspension. I am treated differently in no less than 75% of stores I go into. The employees stare me down, follow me... I'm going to start filming these people. It's not fair to be harrassed for S.W.B. It's sad, I was born this color, yet I am less than, or just plain bad before I even speak, or act in the minds of many, especially law enforcement. It's sad. It's depressing. It makes everything in life that I do in public, down to using the bathroom, getting to know new people, applying for work, buying food, or just walking down any street, so much harder. Like the world is mad I exist, and the people want me to go away.

Hello, I just watched your video. Three years after you made it. I hope you are still with us and a very belated Welcome. Many people throughout the world seem to have so many stereotypes about Americans. Whether it is good or bad there typically is some truth in a stereotype. Overall it seems like you are enjoying yourself and no matter what there is no place like home. I would think no matter what your current situation is you still miss Canada as I would miss the United States if I were to move to Canada. \nA couple things you mentioned in the video were not correct and as with anything there may be a little truth in the matter but yet still incorrect.\nThose who do not have health insurance are not charged or taxed $150 monthly. There is a provision in the affordable care act (ACA) that penalizes certain individuals who make above a certain dollar amount. The amount is either $150 or $300 for the entire year. I concur any monetary penalty against anyone for not having health insurance is outrageous. I could be wrong but I believe this aspect of the ACA was never implemented under President Obama and it was indefinitely suspended or revoked by President Trump. I also feel like I need to address your thoughts about the United States all about war. I believe the American people are like most other people and want peace and civility. The government and major defense contractors have differing opinions at times. Of course there is plenty of people who are war hawks but they are in the minority. Most of us are absolutely sick of war. We currently have been at war for almost 19 years. That's six complete world war 2's in their entirety. \nI think you were being awfully generous when you said obesity is on par with the rest of the world!! Unfortunately there is far to many fat people here and the problem is only getting worse because the media says be happy and proud you are fat. Celebrating obesity is absolutely insane and it sends the wrong message to young people. If a close one is fat of course I love them but I also tell them privately that they are a walking heart attack. 15:25 'take the test ... ' ? There are people who know how to get the result they want from the second test which you claim is difficult to deceive since it tries to measure subconscious bias as opposed to the first which you claim measure more overt bias and thus people can deceive it.

I think what happens is people get grouped together from someone elses behaviour. I remember in Toronto in the 70's a guy from India or Pakistan planted a garden in a room of his apartment. The tenant below called the landlord to say there was a leak upstairs and his unit was being flooded. People judged all people of his ethnic background to this man's standard. You think that landlord wants to take another chance.

While I am daily trying to pass the English test to be eligible for getting Canadian PR, these people just pay money and get PR easily. Even I knew a lot of foreign students are paying money for faked marriage to become Canadian citizen, what a shame on that. I can afford that money but I never want to break the rule. Please prove that Canada government has created fair and equal immigration system for all people.

I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. That usually takes longer.

I have worked at Best Buy and when we see a customer not being helped we have to come and ask if they need or we can get in trouble. It could also be a secret shopper who is there to test how long it takes for someone to come to help. In the end we also want to help so we can upsale extra items that the customer might forget to buy.

My parents live in Ontario and they’re Muslim. My Mom doesn’t wear either head scarf or a face covering, however she does wear it while praying at home or at the mosque.\n\nWhy I left Islam is a very long story. It didn’t seem right how after 9/11 Muslims around the world were celebrating, including my uncles and cousins back home. I came to Christ in 2010 and I’m so blessed to be saved by grace. I’m so glad I have a choice to love God and not forced any more. I’m really worried for this lady Farzana, I’m sure she gets death threats by other Muslims. I experienced it myself when I told a Muslim man I no longer practiced Islam, and that I’m a believer in Christ. He was furious! I told my parents how I got away and even though they are devout Muslims, they realize how I am in danger and my Mom told me I shouldn’t tell other Muslims about my faith. I told her I wasn’t gonna deny Jesus. She worries about me but I told her, I know my destiny for a fact. I had a personal encounter with Jesus and there’s no way I can deny Him. My only prayer is my family will know Christ and one day we will be in heaven together. I’m looking forward to that day. I honestly don’t want to be here in this awful, world where there is so much hate. I want to be with my Savior soon. I don’t even care if I’m killed by a Jihadi. If that’s how God will show my parents how corrupt Islam is then so be it. I just want them to know Christ.

I went to canada with my family when i was 6 years old i thought it was so beautiful the native americans treated us with kindness my dad bought me some moccisens there. A chinese immagrant restaurant owner was nice to us the white people many of them wrent very nice this was in 1969 in the summer but i loved the wilderness and wanted to go back and see the indians. I was a dreamer. Unfortenately and through my own fault after i got out of the military honerably discharged . I got a dui again it was my stupidity but i payed my fine did my jail time and got educated about not drinking and driving. It is not a felony i the US but it is in Canada so canada gets ahold of my driving records maybe they hacked in. And said i could not go into canada. I noticed they let george w. Busch in though oh well i dont think canada even pretends fainess under the law . Any way they are now letting elligals into canada and giving them a hotel room . The duplicity is absurd personally i no longer want to go to canada for anything i think the wall should be put on the northern border. This isnt about getting more votes. Follow the money. Someone is paying themselves huge $$$ overseeing billions that are handed out to illegals. This happens to me all the time. In Lexington, Kentucky racism is very much alive. when it happens I usually get them to help me find everything I want ,even if it's not what I'm really looking for . I will drag them all over the store with me just for the hell.
