I have experienced security guards walking back and forth between the aisles staring at me in London and other parts of England, much more so than in the US. I am black, and the weird thing is that some of the security guards have been black and dark-skinned like me. I got tired of it, and now when it happens I wave to them and say hello. Sometimes, when I'm feeling especially brave and frustrated, and when they walk close to me, I ask them if they're watching me and tell them, 'Don't worry. I don't steal.' It's satisfying to see the embarrassed and uncomfortable looks on their faces.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

The content is really good. But I don't like the way that blue t-shirt guy tried to defame India by saying that the one can't get payoff well in India. Yes it start with low salaries but there are skilled jobs which pays more then any part of the world. It depends on skills and capabilities. There is lot of emotion in this piece, but not very much context or fact. Indigenous people suffer from addictions and mental illness more than the rest of Canada due -inter generational trauma, and resulting loss of dignity. While racism exists today, even if we were to eradicate entirely, indigenous people would still need help due to the damage done in the past. The solution is not fomenting more bitterness and resentment. This is not an easy fix and indigenous people need to be part of it. We need to find a solution where they can rediscover their identity, foster healthy norms within their own nation, while also being part of this nation. Look up Durkheim. Defunding the police is an utterly idiotic idea. Police need more training, and hence more funding, to help them do a better job.

Part of it is that people's attitudes and core values at the individual level needs to change, along with self-awareness.

Racism may never go away in any part of the world. What happened long ago may not be right, events in history that happened should not be forgotten but remembered on how not to handle something. I believe everyone needs to put aside race and religion and simply care for each human being regardless of what’s happened in the past.

The medias should take a part of the responsibility for this problem. I’ve heard several times from news that people were categorized by their national origins , and some individual behaviors were discussed as collective acts.

It’s painful to hear, but it’s an important part of our history and present; not to be forgotten. For if we forget, nothing changes.

There will always be racial bias in society. We can’t help it. Race, religion, gender, language, all part of our identity. But we are also going to have a preference for those identity traits as well. It’s the hate that is the problem. Some people have been taught or conditioned to hate certain races and identities and that is what we need to push back on.

Racism is in every part of world, not only in western countries not only in white guys you found it eastern, African, Middle Eastern, Asian countries everywhere in every community but not in every individual and it's not going anywhere.

Multiculturalism and equality of opportunity are meant to be Canadian values, part of the Bloc's origins was to strengthen the french Canadian rights to exist instead of being assimilated. It's bizarre to me that there is such resistance to uphold our own values in this country when issues are brought up.

There is discrimination here. I am from Latin American and it has been difficult to fit in this country but most importantly to find a job. I mean fit in because they look at me very weird. I don’t really feel part of the society here. As for work/job There are many companies that only want asian or only want white people. I think Canada should start asking companies to present how many black, Latino, Asian and white were hired.

This just didn't happen at Indigenous schools that happened at deaf schools, disabilities this is a wide world epidemic and problem. What happened here, happened in other parts of the world too.

I think people don't actually hate Muslim they are afraid that whether they also have to leave from their homes as Syrian refugees. Also i think the laws in Islam is no way close to existing world and they must take initiative to change the laws inorder to gain the trust Muslims. And since they are the ones who are struggling they themselves had to take the initiative. All the countries around the world are doing their part in trying to trust Muslims, they cannot ask for more they must change their laws.\n\nAnd education in Islam should not be allowed in schools

I believe discrimination is a sad part of humanity. Laws, media and education curriculum are the best ways to reduce the impact and bring justice to those affected.
