I think Canada is one of the most stunning countries! I’m only 22 and I really wish to move to Canada one day! Definitely in my top 3 destinations to go!

I think to be fair America is the one that spells things different all other English speaking Countries spell the same as Canada ( Queens English )

USA is a better country than Canada when it comes to job opportunities/businesses. My uncle, who is a chef, moved to Toronto and was struggling to find a job that would pay him well enough. He then moved to NY state and within one year he was able to open his own restaurant. His finance has increased by leaps and bounds and now he runs three restaurants and already became a US citizen. Immigration might be easier in Canada, but if you get a chance to work and live in the US, you'll reap much bigger rewards for the efforts you're willing to put there.

One of the reason I don't travel to a developed country is this shit. I am afraid all europians and Americans are like that. I don't know man its fucked up world.?

Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

Nobody touched the politics in Canada. I guess, it is the #1 reason to leave Canada. Both leading parties Liberal and Conservative equally irresponsible in taking decisions, they care only about staying in power, no solving real, tough problems. \nThe education in schools is too basic. In many cases is incomparable with education in other developed countries, Asian, for example...\nThen after....another disturbing tendency- radical liberal education- \nsexeducation in school - fluid gender identity theory. \nGovernment tries to do ratification of some very controversial laws about changing gender (sex) for kids from 12 years old without parents's permission. I found it is too radical, too dangerous for kids feature. \nThink one more time, would you like to raise your kids in a such political atmosphere? I think is it the most important question! I am so disappointed in Canada. So much worries for parents and confusion for children. We ready see some sad \nresults.

I took all my money out of Canadian banks and moved it to Morocco.\nYou can buy a condo on the beach for $70,000 - $100,000. \n\nThe further up north you go the more it costs. \nCheck out Casablanca beautiful city. Nice one ?. You forgot to mention that in Canada you have only 2 or max 3 weeks holidays per year while many countries like in The UK or Europe you could enjoy 5 weeks at least. ?

Canada is one of the best countries to live in period. However, it got way too expensive. I moved to Canada 16 years ago and the prices rose 300-400% including housing, Real take home income is less than it used be. This country is different for everybody. If you came with money and dont have to work then you dont need to worry about the income tax and you can still enjoy all the benefits of living in Canada like healthcare. Tons of people on welfare and other assisting programs. High minimum wage. Underpayed skilled professional. The only ones i am happy for are the construction workers but the climate is so bad you really need to suffer everyday because it is really cold in winter and hot in summer.

Thanks for making this video. After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. This White Canadian way is what needs to leave Canada. I would love to explore the Northern part of the continent I live on, but the colonial country of Canada just has a disgusting influence on this region of the world. Would rather travel in Russia or Northern Europe at this point. Forget about me moving there. One must get all the information ( which is available in public domain ) before landing the proposed country. I know some guys, who landed Canada after their Graduation and for their Master's degree. They r ok now. They are all Academically qualified from their native country and higher education from Canada. All of them are working now and leading a good life there. All the professionals who've very good academic background, should undergo some type of higher education there in Canada. Other wise doctors / engineers may end up their life as taxi drivers / gardener... etc. Get thorough knowledge about the country where one has to go., study there and get well placed and live happily ever after. - From own experience -

Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

CANADA is like everything in life for example when you go to buy groceries at the supermarket or Walmart you can find several brands of bread, pasta, salsa etc some are better than other. Some people like the cheapest other the expensive ones others do not care. In summary there is not a perfect country AND NOTHING IS FREE. Live is full of trade offs. My advise make sure you live where you feel well, if you do not feel comfortable just move out.

Well Canada is my native country and I know it's no utopia here, but it's a lot better than most countries and I am sorry Canada is not for you. There are many countries to choose from, and I hope you find one that fits your expectations.?

Canada is a country of immigrants, which means people who are, in my humble opinion, mostly quite self-centered and expecting the world from others, which never happens! Canada demands a gigantic capacity to adapt, to adjust and, in a word, to change...completely! You must be totally willing to leave everything behind if you want to integrate into Canadian society and this is extremely hard to do! Moreover, most immigrants come to Canada because they expect that country to give them a life of luxury or at least a very easy life, which can be true, as compared to certain other countries where life can be hell because of corruption, poverty or mismanagement and dictatorship. I've lived here all my life. Worked here all my life. Only been out of the country for maybe 3 weeks total. I'm 66 years ago. One thing that really bothers me about canada, is that bad management seems to be almost everywhere. From the private sector to the public sector. I'm not saying everything is poorly managed, but my impression is that about 80% of it is. For example, canada has the third largest oil reserves in the world, and we import oil. I think immigrants should think about this before coming here. Do you really want to be part of a team like this? How do I get around this bad management. I work for myself.

Religious charity is one more way to spread wings in a foreign country. What Canada needs is real educated and skilled migrants not pass-and-fly by night sorts. Otherwise it's future seems dark and bleak.

a lot can be said about your narrative. you failed to mention the age of immigration. That alone is THE single most important factor on the out come of the exercise . anyone over 40 should not immigrate. second the education and skill set you bring will be a major factor in the out come. Third there is systemic racism after a certain level which one can feel in very job. i strongly believe one should come to Canada, get top quality education and skill, work with top quality people/organizations which should not be more than 5-6 years, then go back home. the long term price of immigration is huge. This country needs hands to work and pay taxes so that their show should go on. While the media will continue to do its good job demonising and stereotyping us negatively, let's not forget that we are real people with real accomplishments who have always made impactful contributions to society. \n\nHere's the thing, we are admired, loved and celebrated because of the brilliance, talent, charisma, swag and wealth we bring to contemporary culture. Everyone consumes black culture, from the filler lip service to the quick fix tan, from rock and roll to hip hop and RnB music, to sports athletes to the amazing creators out there, no need to mention names. But, we also are doctors, politicians, judges nurses, waiters, carers, scientists, builders, bankers, entrepreneurs, employees or unemployed. \n\nSadly on a day-to-day, we are not viewed as equal people, with equal rights and needs, who, by large, just want the good for our children, our families, neighbours and indeed countries. STOP INSTITUTIONAL RACISM. We are real mothers, real fathers, real children who have a birthright to equal treatment, respect and human dignity, whether or not you choose to disagree.
