My only question about these tests, is how large were the sample pools? And one other thing to note, is that compared to almost every other nation on earth, Canada has next to no racism (i believe we are actually the best on earth when it comes to that). I'm white and have traveled to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America, and have experienced racism in every one of those continents. By a large portion of the people I interacted with. I also find that most racism that I have seen or experienced stems from 2 places. One culture and the second a lack of experience in interacting with other races.

There is lot of emotion in this piece, but not very much context or fact. Indigenous people suffer from addictions and mental illness more than the rest of Canada due -inter generational trauma, and resulting loss of dignity. While racism exists today, even if we were to eradicate entirely, indigenous people would still need help due to the damage done in the past. The solution is not fomenting more bitterness and resentment. This is not an easy fix and indigenous people need to be part of it. We need to find a solution where they can rediscover their identity, foster healthy norms within their own nation, while also being part of this nation. Look up Durkheim. Defunding the police is an utterly idiotic idea. Police need more training, and hence more funding, to help them do a better job.

Canada indeed has systemic racism for sure. It's not same type of country has origin linear ethnicity such as Korea or Japan. It was built on first nation land in better way than USA. If Canada the county needs immigrants to keep the system and economy works, they start sharing major sectors with proper communities that absolutely respect Canada system their daily life rely on. It takes time, but over 100 years of immigrant culture now should take step properly.

The medias should take a part of the responsibility for this problem. I’ve heard several times from news that people were categorized by their national origins , and some individual behaviors were discussed as collective acts.

If a system fails minorities, is it Systemic Racism? Or does it require intent? What about the fact that minorities have different behaviors which lead to different outcomes? Is it the government's responsibility to ensure every group has the same behavior? How can we achieve that? Would we even want to achieve that? \nHow about Quebec, which is itself a minority nation, but with authority?

Yet across the years I have listened to Black and Chinese people express opinions which, coming from a white person, would have meant a day in court charged with the willful promotion of hatred.\n\nFurthermore, the young woman who has difficulty with people asking where she is from might want to consider the possibility that the other party is genuinely interested in learning more about her as a person. I am a white British-Canadian and am not in the least little bit offended when people ask me about my origins.\n\nIndeed, listening to immigrants and new Canadians share their life experiences and outlooks on things has gone a long way in shaping my own opinions as to how Canada can be a better country than it is now.\n\nCase in point; I have heard immigrants and new Canadians from nations as diverse as Jamaica, Trinidad, Nigeria, Ukraine, and the Philippines compare childrens' education in Canada with children's education in their countries of origin. When people get beyond the boundary of a person's color you will face the reality of what this is all about in the first place. Isn't it funny when we look at things like professional sports. The music industry a host of other platforms you see the black community excelling. Now you do not see a huge rebellion taking place from any other nation that is not represented in those areas. So what is really up with these other areas you continue to bring up. All those other problems are not being escaped from because of a persons color. If you believe you have a problem in those areas. Then continue to find solutions. Stop trying to single out the fact that you are the only race that has life issues. When you know every Canadian daily has challenges it faces. The thing about it all is simply this fact. What are you going to do about it ? Stop putting up walls that tell others you are always a victim. If that were the case your basketball courts, baseball stadiums, football fields would not be filled. We all know that is not happening. And I certainly do not believe that all blacks live in this sort of arena. In fact I have a lot of friends who are black. All I see everyday is a beautiful person behind that face. The other thing is, that there are millions of Canadians every year out getting tans when the sun hits. That alone should speak volumes.

Very well done movie. I live in Toronto,multicultural city. I was very suprised that in contemorary life of Canada the racism would be possible to be present in such tolerant country as Canada is in comparison with nationalism in USA. Especially the story of lady who owns the restaurant shocked me. . . Very sad.

So unfortunate that other people are not oriented in diversification despite of the truth that these people came in Canada by Colonialism. \nWho are we to be mean and negatively speculate against the other people. Following them in the stores, asking them to do more workloads than the other nationalities, not welcoming them unless they belong in the white collar jobs. At least two more differences between the US and Canada (I'm a Montrealer myself with American-born parents):\n\n1) When going to the different parts of Canada, they feel that much more different from each other (in the buildings, highway signs, etc.) than the different parts of the US. For example, British Columbia feels like a foreign country compared to not just Quebec (the most obviously different province in Canada) but also compared to Nova Scotia or Manitoba, whereas Washington state or Minnesota is less different than Pennsylvania or Massachusetts.\n\n2) Native Americans (or First Nations, as they're called in Canada) make up a way higher proportion of the Canadian than American population, though less so percentage-wise in Montreal or Toronto or even Quebec City, and they are thus much more in the consciousness of the average Canadian than the average American.

What I love about both countries that religion doesn't play much of role . Btw Canada is 60% non religion . And USA is 40% no religion . But the most important thing is that the secular identity in both nations . Christians in both countries are not traditional Christians . But secular Christians . That's why Americans and Canadians marry other people like non religious and other religions \nAnd they are very open minded nations . I just hope if I can marry a Canadian or American because Its my dream to marry and settle down in there for a very big part of my life . I don't care what's my partner religion as long as I love and her it's enough .
