There's cases in this episode where they assumed racism without proof like the Best Buy for example. I used to work at Best Buy for a Co-Op placement in highschool and shoplifting was a big issue for them, it became best practice at one point to just approach customers of any race and ask them what they need. You also have to realize that it's an electronics store, you're there to buy something specific or look for something in particular.. It's very suspicious to be browsing around for 15 minutes unless you're in a game or movie section. Shoplifters usually stall before attempting a theft and usually do buy one or two things as to not arouse suspicion.

When our indigenous students can study using their own language, it’ll be fairer.\n\nIn our region, students at grade 2 start learning in French or in English, these two languages have zero link to our language. It seems that people conflate individual acts and experiences of racism with systemic racism. If the police stop and question me because I match a description - that's not racism, that's just inconvenient. Now if the officer said - hey according to city by-law blah blah blah, you're under arrest for having blue eyes *that* is systemic. There is a written on the books law treats me different from others. Systemic racism and flawed personal bias are not the same thing. The former does not exist in its literal form and (i'm very sorry kids) the latter will never go away completely.

It's so blatant what's going on now. This isn't about race. This is about divide. Whoever these people are who are telling what these companies/media to say are clearly trying to get us fighting each other. It really seems like they're trying to divert attention. If we're all fighting each other we're not paying attention to what's happening to the side. \n\nPlease people. Right, left, black, white, blue, yellow, atheist, or religious. We need to come together. They are using our beliefs against us. I know it's hard to see other's views when they are so radically different than your own, but we have to look at the bigger picture.

I've heard that colleges like Centennial, Sheridan, Thomson River university etc. help you get jobs if we're doing courses like diploma in marketing. Is that not the case??

Some of the incidents related to the George Lloyd protest seem to emphasize the perception that some community simply took advantage of the situation e.g. stealing of TVs from the containers on board a train! Such behaviour tend to re-emphasize the perception of the people seen in this light. !

Friendly? Polite, perhaps. You have to love the reserve of Canadians, but they're not as engaging as folks in the States. Furthermore, while Canada is perceived as friendly, when it comes to cities, those in the Southern US consistently rank among the world's friendliest and most polite. Many, of course, can be violent. I thought once about immigration to Canada although my economic situation didn’t incentivize me to immigrate. I found myself in a qualified position to immigrate. But when I consulted my wife, she opposed my plan and she’s absolutely right. We’re a middle class family. We have wonderful jobs. Live in our own home and run a small enterprise. Why should we immigrate and start building a new life in a country where the cost of living is insane?!

At least two more differences between the US and Canada (I'm a Montrealer myself with American-born parents):\n\n1) When going to the different parts of Canada, they feel that much more different from each other (in the buildings, highway signs, etc.) than the different parts of the US. For example, British Columbia feels like a foreign country compared to not just Quebec (the most obviously different province in Canada) but also compared to Nova Scotia or Manitoba, whereas Washington state or Minnesota is less different than Pennsylvania or Massachusetts.\n\n2) Native Americans (or First Nations, as they're called in Canada) make up a way higher proportion of the Canadian than American population, though less so percentage-wise in Montreal or Toronto or even Quebec City, and they are thus much more in the consciousness of the average Canadian than the average American.

Tim Hortons is in Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. So I don't think seeing one ensures you're in Canada ;) Cool vid tho.

I have 5 canadian friends 3friends 2bestfriends welp they’re online and yeah they’re online because I don’t live in Canada tho I do see Canada as a wonderful place and if I were to go anywhere/travel I would only go to Asian places but Canada’s one of the places I’d visit or live in thats not Asian <3 (I’m Chinese)

In my experience, what I've seen: anglophone Canada and Canadians are pretty much the same as the rest of the US. Francophone Canada: that's something different. People speak another language, they have a very different culture and they're more conscious about other countries and cultures.

Canadian here in Toronto. Thanks for the video Drew. Very accurate. We're similar in so many ways but there are definitely differences. Today was the day I was supposed to fly to China to take a tour in North Korea. Yes you heard that right. YouTubers like you and similar others have inspired me to try different destinations and experiences. However, that will have to be out on hold for the time being... :(
