White American people are also immigrants, they kicked out native Americans from their native land ( not all white Americans are like that)and now they are asking other immigrants to leave America. what a joke. When will people understand that we are all humans (we are all homosapiens).

Local Brampton Mayors and Ontario gov never tried to put/invite some universities, hospitals and white collar jobs in Brampton, due to that Brampton became mostly bedroom community and all mix people started leaving city by seeing huge influx of South Asian population. Most people in Brampton are either truck driver, construction worker or labourer working in warehouse, while North-West part of Brampton is mostly young IT people working in Downtown or Mississuaga. I personally don’t know a single person who works in Brampton. But, still every Indian wants to live in Brampton just because of food & brown community. Now Brampton will become more brown and brown every year, just because there is no reason for other community to come and live in Brampton, no white collar jobs, not many hospitals or colleges or universty which can bring mix crowd. Brampton will be 100% south asian in next 10 years as most 50%+ new immigrants to Canada are from South Asia and every year 450000 new immigrants comes to Canada!

Isn't it that majority of Canada's population is immigrant, and so no one should think that they own this very huge country that is actually lacking of skilled people and that's why they accept lots of foreigners every year, or should I say every month to keep it's economy rising?

Working in immigration law in Canada, it’s really sad that these people don’t understand the basic information about emigrating or migrating on asylum is scary. Canada is not that different from the US....they don’t really care about these people. People who come as students or temporary workers have a way better chance of obtaining residency then just showing up in desperation.

You’ve been in an English speaking country for awhile. So why do you need to communicate via Spanish? You should’ve learned the language by now. That’s the biggest thing, if you want to be a American or Canadian then learn the language. \n\nI’m Latin and my father n uncles hated going places in the US and another Latin would speak Spanish to them. Even though they could speak Spanish they said this is America speak English. \n\nNot all minorities like seeing people coming into the country illegally or by trying to use asylum when they have no claim. If it’s hard in your country don’t have kids, try to immigrate legally to a country!

Justin Trudeau seriously caused a huge immigration issue of Mexicans and south americans coming to our country. Like dude I was born in Canada and my parents are immigrints who came legally so I can tell you my side. A non biast side. Since I live and work here I can tell u most people of colour r welcoming, however most people who are here and have trouble finding work dont wanna see more people come and make it harder like texas and arizonia. I know it won’t be easy but, Toronto has a lot of resources for immigrants and even undocumented immigrants. I worked for a shelter and although it was the only one that takes undocumented families, you learn there are resources out there. \nIt’s about aligning yourself with the right community support Center, finding the people who will fight for you. There are so many people here who welcome and want to help all types of immigrants. No matter your background.\nThe people who work helping these communities they are ruthless in their fight for citizenship, or at least finding you a job and home, they will guide you through the system. Social workers, ones in community resource centres, not government centres, will be your best friend. They know where the red tape is and the resources available to you. \nYou could even go to a specific shelter to t all out your options and where you could go to get help.\nI understand this is not ideal. \nBut, if you want to be here, your best friends are non-profits, finding a center that aligns with your story, your background, because they will fight for you. We have people here from every country and resource centres geared towards your own language, religion etc.\nAnother big way to set yourself up for success. Churches, rich churches to be specific. \nMy mom works in a very rich church and it helps them feel better about themselves helping people, you could be nice enough to alleviate their guilt through their wallets, and connections. Under the table work, shelter, space for your family, set you up, they might even have the lawyers you need pro Bono in those rich churches. Church shopping, do not be above it if you don’t have resources. You don’t just get help, you build a community and support system through a common bond, the church. \nI know these aren’t revolutionary tips, but without specifics of your background it’s hard (for me specifically) to give specific advice online as to what services could be provided for you.\nIt’s kind of like a doctors appointment. You need background info to diagnose the resources for you and how to access that help.

Does the word 'refugee' not have any meaning to anybody anymore? Pffft. It's like this in Europe. Let's be honest, most are economic migrants not refugees and I find it deeply insulting to see such powerful words abused and entirely watered down in meaning. It's like the gross abuse of words like 'phobic', 'fascist' and 'racist' etc. The more you fling them around as pejoratives that enforce or heighten some emotional angle in your rhetoric, as a dopey shorthand smear word, the greater the REAL damage. You can't move to a country and want everything your way because of your culture. I'm mixed and don't think it's fair that people are being pushed around because the choices they make. England isn't a country from the Middle East and people who immigrate here need to accept it or go back!

I am a dark skinned Indian living in Germany. Trust me, the most racist ones here are immigrants from Arabia, Africa and East Europe. My experiences with them are a real horror. Germans are far more nicer and classier people. Its unfair that whites alone get blamed for racism as if other ethnicities are innocent

French Canadians are native people of Canada and not just recent immigrants. French Canadians, especially Québécois, are a part of Canadian culture but their culture is also very different. Its the same situation with African Americans in the US.

Just walk across the border in Manitoba, RCMP will carry your bags for you. Feed you , provide you with clothing & free accommodations, and you jump to the front of the line for immigration. Ahead of all the people trying to do it legally.

GOOD Chinese are hard to get PR, but Canada always give illegal immigrant a PR. Those people don't even speak English, never pay taxes. LOL

Good video.\nFor people in the comments: immigrating to Canada requires you to have prior post-secondary education. It’s simply a must. But once you are here and apply for jobs, your education will not be recognized by employers (unless you come from the Commonwealth countries.) This includes highly sough-after jobs such as Doctors, Nursing, healthcare, engineering, or finance. So definitely expect to go back to school once you are a landed immigrant.

Considering you only have to have a student or work visa and say you are going to apply for citizenship and have a bed and breakfast or rent rooms to buy a house in Canada. Also rather than having our housing market correct for average Canadian to purchase he wants to increase immigration to keep our housing market up his words. And those poor people being sold Canada are coming into a Country with huge unemployment.

Anyone who's visited China can see that Canada is huge and empty. Illegal immigration paranoia is not what we need right now, as climate change is going to lead to a billion refugees. The west needs to make plans for absorbing many many more people than we have in the past.

What a shame. I’m an immigrant myself and worked hard to get my citizenship. It took me 9 years to get it. These people need to be stopped as it desecrates the hard work that a lot of immigrants invested to obtain their status. I hope they all get caught and get deported.

There are also fake refugee scams, many people from China, USA, Africa, Middle East are not real refugees, they have decent lives in their own countries, however, they can't immigrate through legal ways, either they are too old or they don't have enough work experiences or educations, they cheated and they claimed that they are refugees. Are we saying that immigration can't digitally track people entering and leaving canada... don't they scan passports... Also the income and job that people have in canada is linked to SIN, how can that be cheated!!! I think there was a lapse in due diligence from our authorities as well.

The bigger question is why rich people don't want to live in Canada? Is Canada economy big enough to sustain and grow wealth? Or Taxes are too high for them to stay rich? Is immigration only solution to all that Canada is facing globally? The real success of immigration will be when Canada can really attract global immigration like USA did in past.The truth is new immigrants struggle for job and Canadian experience so they prefer to go back.its a catch 22 situation for Canada ..they need people and money and have limited job and business opportunities. There are many many genuine people(including me) who are genuinely willing to immigrate and following all the legal procedures and can't get through the processes and immigration for unfortunate reasons. Mean while, there are many people like these exploiting the system.... like wtf is wrong with the world.....?

I am a Canadian immigrant PR now but I actually lived and studied in Quebec for five years now and has built a connection to the local community. I even learnt French there.... The people who provide fake profile srsly make me mad and feeling unfair.

We should have a kind of Super PR or near citizen status. Something that doesn't expire, but it is not full citizenship. This would allow to deport any one with fraudulent immigration process. They use the loophole, where people will surrender their original citizenship and therefore can't loose their Canadian citizenship anymore. Full citizenship would be granted after many years.

I’m glad VICE is reporting this. People are so ignorant and don’t realize that the US is the most welcoming country for immigrants.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

To me, it looks like Vice is really trying to pull the emotional card to get people to sympathize with this man because he really is in a rough situation. But, he is in a situation of his own making. It sounds like he had not done any prior research about Canada before deciding to claim refugess status. Yes, Trudeau was not giving the full truth when he made those public announcements to the media. Yes, people (educated or not) can be swayed by words of leaders they respect. But, to think you can just enter another country and claim refugee status without understanding what that actually entails is very naive. Canada has very transparent laws that are easily accessable in a multitude of different languages. The provinces also have legal assistance for those who can not afford lawyers. So, the fact that this man was able to spent $15,000 when he is being portrayed as a low income earner makes me question his income, or if he was even aware that he could apply for legal assistance. And since he has a lawyer who has been working his case, I would like to assume that the lawyer would have said something about assistance.\n\nI really want to be sympathetic for this man and his family, because security uncertainty makes life extra hard. But, as I have had to live in more than one country due to the Canadian immigration system refusing my husband due to a very old DUI (which has set our life on a completely different plan than anticipated), I have a very hard time being sympathetic when I feel as though they did not reach out to educated themselves on the laws of another country. I am a Canadian who currently can't live in Canada with my husband of 3 years and I still don't hate my country. I respect the hell out of it (this is not to get into our historic treatment of BIPOC, which deserves it's own seperate time and is a bloody stain on our land's history.)

Okay. A lot of people here have no clue how the immigration system works both in the US and in Canada. “He should just have come here legally”. Well, most of the time a legal path to emigrating to the US/Canada just does not exist, and its getting more and more impossible to be granted asylum. In the US you can’t just apply for a work visa, you can’t just apply for a green card. You got to be eligible to apply for it. For a work visa you need a job offer first, you need proof of income and most of the time the employer will have to prove they couldn’t find an American to take the position. To get a green card you either have to get married to an American, invest at least $500,000 or try applying for asylum (which is almost impossible to get nowadays). ALSO to apply for asylum you need to be either inside the US or at a US port of entry. Try to be less “patriotic” and more empathetic. People flee their countries because of war, violence, cartels, gangs, terrorism, etc. They are desperate and want to protect their families and have a better life. If you were in their shoes and staying in your home country put your family in great harm you would have done the same thing. People need to stop judging, stop being selfish and start leading with empathy.

Easy Immigration is the concept introduced by Canada to get more people, and meet labour demand of canada. \nOnly those going for proper education from good universities will get benefit.

I had immigrated to Canada last year in March. So far I have not experienced any racism whatsoever. God has been kind to me since I moved here. I found a job and a place to live. Most of you guys are something: Canada LIVES of immigrant work force. All of You are just that, immigrants, from an immigrant family!! And yet you are so full of hate. In the country of This size there should be 10 times as many people living. But Canadians protect their comfort, their convenience( favorite word), they don't want to share.\nAnd yet you market yourself as a country open to immigrants, welcoming, nice....it is all a fasade .....

Maybe if we (the western world) stopped creating so many inequalities worldwide... People wouldn't want to come here so badly. My parents came to Canada as teenagers, and they are non-European immigrants. The kindest and most compassionate people Ive ever met and im not saying that because im their son but because its true, im nothing like them anymore. Being born and raised in Canada I have NEVER felt like this is my home or that I belong/am welcomed here.

Yet across the years I have listened to Black and Chinese people express opinions which, coming from a white person, would have meant a day in court charged with the willful promotion of hatred.\n\nFurthermore, the young woman who has difficulty with people asking where she is from might want to consider the possibility that the other party is genuinely interested in learning more about her as a person. I don’t know why stup!d people are paying millions of dollars to get the citizenship and then they'd never be able to earn the same amount of the money they spent getting the immigration. They could start up a respectable business in China or other Asian countries and enjoy the sunshine and family values.

Eliminate duel citizenship and this problem will go away. If you want to immigrate to Canada you must relinquish any previous citizenship. That would eliminate the possibility of these people moving back to China which means they wouldn't move here in the first place unless they were serious about being Canadian citizens and not just doing it for profit and access to Canadian real estate, social programs and future pensions for family.

So it takes me 2 years lots of blood sweat a masters degree a accountancy degree a interview with the immigration officer thousand if miles away than legally entering canada and than these people!!!!!!

There is a huge difference in their immigration policies too, in America people are kind of expected to assimilate. Whereas in Canada people are encouraged to be distinct culturally. Lived in both states and Canada, currently a resident of Canada so can tell this difference with my own experience. ♥️??
