I'm white, I've been followed in stores. I'm not stealing so I don't care. I rented a room to a woman from Iraq, she was nice but didn't speak english. She often left bits of tp where she sat, instead of womens pads I think. She moved 3 months later, she had stuffed cig butts under the plunger in her sink instead of the toilet. Immigrants had convinced her we overcharged and she moved in with them to her regret, but I wouldn't want her back. She was a needy pain. We have refugees in an apartment across the street, Many different plumbers the last few months, now all new tenants are white. I can understand why.

If she's afraid the guy might come back she should move out. Stay with family or friends temporarily if she has to until she finds another place to live. This is if she has family or friends in her area willing to let her stay temporarily

I had immigrated to Canada last year in March. So far I have not experienced any racism whatsoever. God has been kind to me since I moved here. I found a job and a place to live. People greet each other irrespective of race and color. This is the best place to raise a family in my eyes. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS COUNTRY. God bless Canada!!!

I live in Victoria, and take this. I worked in a place, where the manager was from Asia, and she treated me like hell forcing me to move to another department, claiming she doesn't need an assistant. NEXT day she hired an Asian girl. She obviously needs an assistant, but because she wanted an Asian with her, she did that. And now you go to that department and you find all employees are from her country. Talk about racism, it's everywhere. And yes when an Asian or a black treat others in a wrong way, it's still called racism. People only shout racism when it comes from the White while we do see racism from others, but we don't hear anyone condemning it

I've lived my whole life in canada, and two years ago moved to the USA. And I got to say, its so much different. the only similar thing is the buildings and the atmosphere. people are different, different fast food and grocery chains, they arent very similar.

I loved this. I have always wanted to move to Canada and wondered about race relations. More importantly I think it is important to be honest about the struggles we all face everywhere. Nothing in this made me want to not visit Canada or think that ALL Canadians think a certain way...it was just information. My mother was German/Irish. My father was french/dutch. I tan quite well, enough time in the sun and I get Puerto Rican dark. I got my dad's curly hair. I spent 10 years on the south coast of of the US so when I moved back to Missouri I was quite dark, not really an issue on the cost as everyone is kinda dark lol Back in Missouri I got followed around stores, had my bags checked coming out of stores, had clears talk to me in slow broken English, and before I could open my mouth was told they didn't speak spanish. I have since lost my tan and all that with it. Stuff like that is a real wake up call.

I totally agree with the masses,to get a job offer when you are outside Canada is very difficult.I sat for an assessment test,for one of Canada's reputable company.It took me more than two hours to finish,but when they realized that am outside Canada,there response was that,we have decided not move forward with your application.Other efforts have not even paid off,no responses.

We moved from California to Louisiana. My brother's girlfriend constantly said my 3 year old daughter was always trying to act and sound white. She reads very well and that is her normal voice. I didn't even know how to respond to that comment.?

I suggest going back too his country of origin and vote for politician's that will reform his government. It's crazy people from poorer countries keep electing socialist governments. I am a Chinese, I met this guy in person when they were holding an event in Shanghai, I want to move to Canda so much, but at that time I couldn't reach the level of IELTS English qualification. But after all, I made my decision not to join, I think it is illegal and risky. But finally, after 2 years of continuous studying of English, I could reach the level of 7.5 in IELTS. Now I have submitted all the necessary documents, but my case had been in pending for quite a long time, feeling my application could be quite hopeless.

The canadians are as cold as their weather...poor guy got rejected after such a DUMB MOVE .Generally speaking living in the US is way easier than in Canada ,where you have to be a genius (overqualified) to get almost any decent job.Not to mention the brutal winters (except vancouver) Only 2 good things about canada : it's healthcare and safety . Much easier to have a comfortable life in the US despite being undocumented .You just have to keep a low profile and be a law abiding citizen.The american economy is simply the BIGGEST in the planet .So many businesses : someone will give you a chance ...as simply as that !
