Doesn't speak English, has photos of him working illegally in Canada, sneaking family into Canada illegally, doen't show to scheduled appointments, this is the kind of riff raff no country wants as he refuses to follow the rules.

As a Canadian I feel sad for all the families who cross the border seeking refugee status and don’t get accepted, but at the same time you can’t just come into a country illegally, without proper documentation and with no threat back home and expect to become a citizen.

Not saying this to be a leftist or a conservative but just try to imagine your born in a country like Salvador every day seeing gangs killing people kids elderly ... you have a wife kids ... wouldn't you do anything literally anything to do just so your kid can have a better future and yes even considering going to another country where you have no family and know no body not even their language .... please comment I want to see what people would do

This story, and money hundreds of thousands of such stories, are the fault of the governments of the countries from which these people are from. These stories are not the responsibility of the U.S. government. Nor are they re responsibility of the Canadien government. And Trudeau is a douche for virtue signaling to the world that (basically ), unlike the United States, Canada welcomes all immigrants. He's an empty suit, and he should provide housing for Jose Castillo and his family.

It's not enough to live in a shit-hole country with violence. To be considered a refugee, that violence must be targeting YOU and your family SPECIFICALLY. It's not enough to just live among it. If your country sucks, it's your duty as a citizen to fight and work to end that unpleasantness. El Salvador's government does not persecute its people—it's just incompetent.

He lived in the USA for 15 years and managed to save at least $15,000 dollars. He then chooses to go to Canada, putting his family in the same illegal situation as here. Not sure why he left El Savador, but 15 years is a long time. Chances are the reason is no longer valid, so he should have been able to take his family back and live quite well.

I don't understand what's the point you're trying to make with this video. It seems like you're trying to blame Canada and Trudeau for the situation that he is in; You (VICE) place emphasis on his situation and his family, trying to drum up sympathy for him, but the way I see it is, he's to blame for it. He came here of his own volition and with a family by trying to get around the system. That's doesn't make him sympathetic, it makes him stupid and naive and impulsive. Frankly, it insulting and infuriating because there are people who wait YEARS and pay thousands of dollars who are actually in need of coming to Canada. Where i come from, i know people who work overseas for years and years leaving their families behind. A big sacrifice to make both ends meet but i think it is still a smarter way to leave them behind and send money than to take them with you and share the uncertainty of illegal immigration with them.

Why would Canadians welcome someone who was in our neighboring country illegally here. He also committed a crime to enter Canada. Not only that but he knows the system well enough how to avoid being deported after his asylum status was denied. Jumping between provinces and hiding with other family members is criminal. Not only should he and his immediate family be deported but also his family in BC who hid him. Our Prime Minister is a joke. We need Trump in Canada.

Oh no! Is that a child crying because Trudeau has separated her from her father? So he failed to show up for his hearing and dodged ICE for more than 10 years. it amazes me how little human beings can care about each other. it breaks my heart to see a man who wants to provide for his family be turned away and thought of as a criminal because he escaped a country riddled with murder. documented or not they deserve better. most undocumented immigrants don’t come here to commit crimes or steal your jobs, they come here for refuge. undocumented immigrants don’t even qualify for welfare programs and continue to pay taxes. the alternative, legal immigration, can take up to 15-30 years of them living in constant fear of death. they are humans and we should treat them as such

if illegal immigrants or asylum seekers are willing to risk their lives and their families lives to come to another country why cant they risk their lives to stay in their own country...........

People who can't speak the national language shouldn't be moving to another country especially not illegally. I can't feel sorry for this guy. The US should make work visas easier to maintain so they can work here and go back to their family in their home country every now and then. But then again, that may work for Mexican migrants(mexico is not dangerous at all besides a couple cartel controlled states) but perhaps not for smaller central american countries where they are escaping political strife and violence. The attainment of visa is easier for white latinos rather than those who are brown/afro. However, people complain that they feed off welfare, which is untrue because those without ssn can not obtain those benefits.

A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

JMHO, but starting a family before securing your future is not wise, legal or not legal.

I'm sorry to hear this - Lost cases are so Rare in Canada - We're usually much more welcoming. However, is it really lost - I have a feeling that's he's an illegal immigrant, which I don't support - Everyone, wherever they are from, needs to go through the system. And The Basics, such as knowing the English language, is a must! Especially if you got a family, no one is going to hire someone without the basics.

If he would have taken the 15,000 and family back to El Salvador, he could have started them a good life. And the people there can even understand his language.

here in mexico racism is way less common. But society has a huge problem, classism. People treat you differently if you dress nicely and come from a rich family.

My family owns real estate and we're of Asian descent. I can say that we racially profiled every single applicant for our rental units. The first thing we look at in choosing a tenant is race, and the second is income/cash reserves. We've had Natives and blacks come in to take a look, and immediately rejected without outright saying so. We only rent to East Asians, some South Asians, and most Whites.

I'm really torn on this issue. On one hand I see the pain and suffering splitting up families causes, but that wouldn't happen if they entered the country legally. Let's not forget these people no matter how well intentioned they are in emigrating they broke US immigration laws.
