Why do brown people keep flocking to white people countries? Why don’t they immigrate to China or Africa? It’s almost like, idk, white men make the best societies.

I agree racism is an issue but the part with Islam, that is cultural not race. That was proven by the fact the woman actress whose race is Mid Eastern had no idea that other Mid-Easterners suffered these comments when they dressed in obvious Muslim clothing. There is a difference between Race and Culture. Irregardless, we need to treat each other like we want to be treated. All cultures have common things among its members that are unpleasant to people of other cultures. If we realize that about our own culture, we can empathize with others.

It's not that black people don't steal. It's not that white people don't steal. The fact is a person who steals can be any race but the people who are looking for the crimes tend to be white and they don't look as hard at people who look like them.

People judge based on skin color because of patterns of behavior. Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to be gang associated then a white or Asian. If you want to fix racism, then get rid of the negative behaviors in your race.

The niqab freaks people out not always because of racism. How would you like someone in a hockey mask or a ku klux clan outfit next to you?

with respect to the job situation I am not really surprised at all. The higher up you go in terms of qualifications requirements is the less likely you are to find discrimination based on names in Toronto. \n\nThe real discrimination is at the bottom of the pay scale where the people making the decisions are less likely to be university educated and more likely to be say a white forklift driver who came up through the ranks and has been promoted through length of service rather than and specific qualification. He is likely tp still hold on to that Èthey are taking our jobs È mentality.\n\nAnother thing to consider in this Ontario/Toronto employment thing too is this. Ethnic employers tend to discriminated HEAVILY against anyone who is not of their ethnicity. The Chinese hire almost exclusively Chinese, partly because they can pay them less than minimum wage and get away with it. Indian employers hire almost exclusively Indians for the same reasons but additionally because they can get away with any number of safety violations because Indian workers tolerate and in fact tend to violate those safety codes in a normal situation anyway.\n\nThe same with Portuguese construction workers, they can pay them way less, get them to violate construction codes and cut corner on safety without being reported by or having workers complain. Polish and Romanian construction workers the same thing.

Canada is racist with people that come from the americas, they only like Asian and Europeans

I live in Canada and I can tell you a lot of people here don't like it. Would you like it to happen in your home country? Millions of people from different cultures come in and change the culture of your country? We will have no white majority countries soon. You will always be able to go back and experience your culture. It is only western countries that are expected to dilute their land.

glad this episode was made... so that those who think they can just come to canada like some sort of dreamland safe haven would think twice. Canada is nice, but not dumb... tax payers work hard and pay a ton of taxes for the social programs and assistance... why should people just sneak in and enjoy all the free benefits? I would like for vice to follow up on this because even in the states that I've been I've hurt that Canada is there salvation for Donald Trump's persecution against illegals and it would be cool if they can expand this news or story a little bit more for people to understand that what the Prime Minister has sed an done is false.

A lot of people actually spend a lot of money, get higher education, get English language accreditation and rack up work experience just to get to Canada LEGALLY as an immigrant, where they have to start from the bottom again. People like Jose expect to just breeze by and benefit from Canada's resources with schemes and false claims of asylum seeking. He should be deported. He hasn't even made the effort to speak English and acclimate.

RE: Canadian healthcare, my wife broke both her hips in 2017 in two separate falls, she was admitted immediately to hospital without delay and operated on the next day (half hip replacement), after physio and occupational therapy she was discharged and provided Homecare, 16 times per week plus weekly Day Hospital. Our cost for both operations was roughly $160.00 for parking spots for me so I could visit her and about $140 in Tim Horton doughnuts for staff. The system does not have enough of certain types of specialists thus wait times for those specialists, and there are wait times for elective surgery. The system has not really been reviewed since its inception in the 1960s but making significant changes is the third rail of Canadian politics and a hard look is justified after 70 years. Re: illegal crossings; The gentleman in the video has a problem in that the US and Canada have signed a “safe country” agreement and neither will accept refugees from the other as both Canada and the US are deemed “safe havens”. He crossed illegally, if he had crossed legally he would have been immediately turned back at the border but he clearly entered the country between border crossings and was likely arrested and released on recognizance but not returned immediately as the agreement is silent on illegal entries (yes, seems a touch strange). As many people are leaving the US for Canada the system is overwhelmed. Tent cities have been set up in Quebec and public housing used in Manitoba to house illegal immigrant pending processing - those with criminal records are held for deportation. Canada has accepted roughly 25,000 Syrian refugees from camps in that part of the world. These refugees were first vetted by the UN then Canada. These refugees are completely different from the people crossing the border illegally from the United States. This pales to the 75,000 boat people accepted after the fall of Saigon. Canadians have been generally accepting of refugees but wants the process guided by the rule of law. Immigrants are a separate from refugees and the rules governing their entries into Canada are different.

We cannot control how people think. We all have our preferences just like brand preferences. The difference is in our action. NOt everything we think manifest in our actions. Men who look with lust at women does not necessarily means it will become sexual assault. Most of the time it depends upon your culture and upbringing.

This is a great documentary. I assumed Canada was very inclusive and multicultural. I never heard about slavery in Canada or racism there. As an African-American woman I want to know all about the experiences of BLACK PEOPLE all over the world because we are connected. Many of our families were torn apart during slavery. Most of us can’t trace our history five generations. I’m glad we have YouTube to find information through documentaries like this one.

I feel like this is just anti black propaganda to make us think black fathers are somehow more absentee then other races. I know plenty of white people who don't know their dads. I actually don't know any black people who's parents aren't still together. Maybe it's just where I live in Atlanta. I don't know what it's like in Canada.

Profiling exists with whites too, but it has to do with appearance, class and perceived intelligence; it isn't all about colour or race.\n\nI am a larger guy, with a shaved head and a beard. Sometimes I wear a suit and sometimes I am in jeans, a t-shirt and/or a leather jacket. When in a suit I am treated completely differently from when I am in my motorcycle or bumming around clothes. It is a fact that people profile everyone based on appearance, language (verbal ability), and how they are acting. Unfortunately, a person with visible differences, such as skin colour, can't change into something that attracts less attention, but, a black man in a suit is still less likely to be profiled than one in everyday clothes.\n\nAlso, I am well spoken, which makes a difference in the way I am treated. If you speak in a way that makes you sound less educated or of a lower class, then you are treated differently.\n\nTry sending in a white guy who is less clean-cut and less well-spoken and see the difference in the way he is treated. Have him act a bit nervous, look around a lot, or appear to be less than middle or upper class and see the difference in how he is treated. I guarantee he won't get good offers in those apartment buildings, if he gets any offers at all.\n\nA friend once told me a story about a friend of his who was very well off. This man went into an exclusive car dealership to look at a car on display. He didn't like to appear as well of as he was, so often wore simple jeans and t-shirt. When he asked the price of the car, the salesman took one look at his clothing an told him he couldn't afford the car. White profiling at its finest.

Laws are laws you seek asylum in the first safe landing not your choice of wherever whenever. Why then can I not leave Canada and go live in another country undocumented then when I fear deportation just go to another country? Because it's illegal yeah. Ugh we are not here to be used and walk all over like a doormat especially if you are not working and paying taxes but taking everything you can get. There are plenty of people in dangerous situations like ukrane and other war torn areas that legit need a place he and his family were already in the US they shouldn't have left there to make fake claims here. Question: Why don't poor people get their selves settled and established before they have kids? It's not like they have good jobs and then lost them. They were born poor.

I feel bad for them but as a Canadian, do I want them to become Canadian (prob will not pay income tax cause they won’t make a lot of money, being near poverty line)(and will require lots of help from the government)? Or someone from a rich country that goes through investment method to gain PR card (injecting 100-200k into local companies in cash for pr card)(they will most likely buy expensive stuff from our local economy). I feel sorry for this man and his family! But I wonder how sorry he feels, knowing that by coming to Canada, he and his fellow immigrant countrymen have, taken jobs away from Canadians? 1500 people like myself that have worked here all their lives? I was working in the meat industry for over fifteen years, just to have my employer, take my skilled job and give it too an unskilled worker, under the temporary foreign worker program. That program was set up by the federal government for unskilled workers, coming to Canada for unskilled jobs that Canadians didn't want. My job was a skilled job, that I had to work my way up from the bottom, to the level of employment, that only skilled workers were capable of doing. This temp program was for unskilled employment only! But if your employer is big enough in the industry, the government allows them to bend the laws of the land, and give your jobs to any undereducated immigrant that comes along...WTF? Canada wake up!!!

I often make the simple response to the obsession with race and color, skin color is an illusion as well as even nationality and race .people who have scientific mind created all these names as well as for animals. I'm sick of these sob stories. Are those people really that stupid? I'm beginning to think they really are. This man had been in the States for several years according to this video. He was in the States illegally. He clearly never bothered to learn English, and it looks like that for his family too. Then he gets scared because Trump got elected and actually starts ENFORCING IMMIGRATION LAW. So he flees to Canada just because of something a really STUPID and poorly liked PM says. So he takes his family and again is expecting to be given asylum, and then does no research to find out the facts about Canada's immigration system before he goes there. Then he complains about having to spend all his money. Oh gee, did he actually think they would just give him free everything??? Clearly the threat he's complaining about in his own country is not that bad, since Canada rejected his asylum. So what does he do? He refuses to turn up for his hearing, and then he flees to another province. Totally criminal activity. Canada's immigration people need to round him up and deport him. It's his OWN FAULT he is separated from his family. HE BROKE THE LAW!!! There are CONSEQUENCES to breaking the law. Sheesh!!! I'm so sick of hearing these sob stories from these freeloaders. So I'm in a dilemma of whether I should move down to Florida and live with my American girlfriend, or stay up here and support her moving up here in Canada. My main issue is health care. I just hear many people have bad service and poor treatment with insurance down there, but it all depends what insurance your applying with. People are fairly nice, but there are also some douche bags as well so I'm not surprised. With my overall budget, I could likely stay down there for about a few months or so. Here in Canada, taxes are a little higher, but it's worth it (Some idiot said our taxes are lower), health care is paid for, winters are cold but anyone can survive through it. Some say Canada is a socialist (which is Not -_-). Liberal party is ruining Canada as it is in a way. But again, it's better Justin than Trump. (Betting for Scheer). Idk, politics is bad in both countries I say. Idk, I'm likely missing some things here. Should I move down with my girlfriend, or stay up and support her moving up here?

when I was 17 I was followed by a store detective. As I was leaving the store, in a very loud voice she accused me of stealing an item. Many people heard, and she had me go in the back storage area, demanding to look through my purse. I refused and told her the item in question I had placed on the shelf, as I did not have enough money to buy it. She told the stock boys not to let me leave and went to check the shelf after I refused to let her search my purse. She came back with the item and told me I could leave. I said I wasn`t going until she apologized to me. She said, ``I`m not going to apologize to you.` She sneered. The detective was black. I am white. I was the victim of racial profiling. This happened in a Shoppers. I wish I had known I was entitled to $8,000.00 like the lady in this film. I am sick of shows like these that racially target whites. To be fair, send a white person in a black neighbourhood store, and see what happens.

The most racism I experienced in school was from teachers. Its the most profound kind of racism, because they are authority figures. The thing is when your fellow students display racism it doesn't have the same gravity as it does when your teacher does it because you know your teacher does know better but they truly believe it.In University, I actually had a teacher give a lesson that was so tinged with racism that it really broke me down, because what I've come to realize is that so many people think that being racist is saying actual racist words and don't understand that perpetuating stereotypes are the most prevalent forms of racism.  It is demoralizing because it feels like a losing battle when your teacher is perpetuating racially disparaging ideas to an entire class, and you think about how many people are going to be influenced by that idea and in turn perpetuate it. I realized that this teacher really insidiously believed what she was saying was true, but that it just wasn't politically correct to say it. The main principle of white privilege is that white people get to be individuals but people of colour get grouped together by the most base stereotype of their race.  I don't think Black-focused schools are the solution. I think more integrated schools with diverse populations of students and teachers are the solution.\n Then there are concrete issues of race, space and the law. For example when you come to realize that carding continues in Toronto, and that most residents do not care that young Black men are being harassed and treated like criminals by the police because it does not affect their community, it makes you wonder if people are only inclined to feel empathy for those who look like them.

Its hilarious to me that Canadians have this big image of what we are like with all of the war, food, and football etc... \nwhen people here kind of forget Canada exists. I literally don't know anything about Canada except the maple leaf and something about health insurance?

Their head dress and berkas are drawing attention to these people because of their cultures and what it means to women. These things put people in bondage and seem very threatening. They are forced to ware them in their own country’s and they come here and some are demanding that our culture should adapt. Especially in Europe.These people represent problems etc.. I am scared of these people. I’m free. I don’t want to bow to their God or their culture. Like I said try this test in their own country’s. I have no problem with blacks or aboriginal people. You folks who always claim racism, helps to keep it alive.. It may not be the color but the way you act in an establishment. I'm white and had on an old leather jacket ove day while shopping which possibly made me look needy. That day while walking through different stores at the mall, I was followed by store personal and also by the security team while walking between stores. After not seeing what I had been looking for in all of the other stores was a new leather jacket but not seeing what I wanted in all of those places that I visited, I walked to Wilson house of Leather and finally found that new jacket. Best of all it was on sale. I've lost some weight since those days but I still have my leather coat which is a bit big for me now and starting to look like the coat that got me followed that day at the mall. Not everything is color when you get those looks and I would say it's more on the way you present yourself. \n\n Funny how it was during the times of the HURRICANES were the riots and thefts were done by people od color. Not all blacks riot and loot but those who do are a reflection of the thinking of certain races on this earth. Whites are just as guilty but no Asians, Whites Indians Arab or alien were photographed looting during trying times for many. In times of crisis can you depend on your neighborhood?

I’m a New Democratic and even I’m thinking people like Jose are making it harder for those who truly need protection from actual persecution in their home country to get the help they need from Immigration.

To all the people saying why dont these immigrants stay in their county to make it better---here is a little think piece because i used to say the same thing\n\ni used to say the same thing but we are blindsighted by your american privilege. My parents are immigrants and i told them the same thing, why dont people stay to make their country better? And they flat out told me it will get you killed. Americans have no idea how coniving amd evil leaders in other countries can be. Just the other day, a dictator from eritrea was bargaining prices with Israel to send back refugees from his country. He said the refugees fleeing his regime should be given 50k to be deported from isreal because they risked their lives. You would think he really meant that right? As soon as those refugees come back hes taking that money and sending them to a forced slavery like military program. There is no such thing as human rights. So if you were in such a dire situation, dont you think you would do anything to get out? The only solution i see is if the entire world could be under a larger, strong governing force that keeps leaders in check and can withold vital resources from offenders. The UN isnt cutting it.

It's a heartbreaking situation, but a country has the right to decide who comes in and who doesn't. The places where hard-working, industrious people like Jose come from need to drastically change their societies to capitalize on his talents and provide for a stable future for his children. Perhaps what the US and Canada can do is help train those country's leaders to implement policies that improve their economies like establishing strong property rights, rule of law, free markets, tough measures on crime, etc. But unless you have a Ph.D. in Physics or will start the next Apple computers, we have plenty of unskilled labor here already. Look, I feel for the guy and I'm empathetic to his plight, I don't think he's an evil person, and our country may be better off having him here working and contributiing to the labor pool, but the law is the law.

While I understand people may not like certain groups, but we are all one race and there are no black or white people just different shades of the same color so why do we perpetuate incorrect labeling when everyone is trying to be PC? It can't help with understanding and growth as a morale society!

we are not children why do people put something into everything we say......If you say something and anyone takes it as prejudice that does not mean you are prejudiced against anyone......we all have our quirks and the people that claim all of this usually take everything and analzye it ....instead of taking what is being said as just a comment.....there have been things said that I did not like but I do not say anything because everyone is entitled to their own opinions.......

I agree with this law. For safety reasons. I have a few muslim women friends including two females family members that are muslim and they dont cover their faces. They also agree with this law. we all have the right to see the face of whom is around us. I also know one woman that is not muslim but dresses and covers her face like one. Why she does that I and my neighbours dont know why. She does not talk to anyone about it and only dresses that way when she goes out of the neighbourhood. What are her intentions to do such thing? She is portuguese does not speak arabic only portuguese and broken inglish. When we ask her why she does that we are told to mind our business. We feel that it is our business because she is very strange and like i said before she only dresses that way when she goes out of the area that she lives in. What is she up too? And like her how many more is out there doing this and why? Whthout any offence to the muslim people SAFETY should come first to everyone.

i hope these Muslim people are working really hard and looking after their family by their own money and not getting any benefits from Canadian government as child benefit or housing benefit like UK !!\nBecause in UK most of these people dont work and they dont pay tax ,plus each family got minimum 4 kids and the government have too look after them and pay for their house rents ...I dont understand why the UK government not stopping that!!! .

In general, people are not given to searching very hard for the truth. Being sinners, we humans are concerned with what pleases us-------the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, as the Bible tells us. All this is sin, 'for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' (Romans 3:23, New Testament). But islam so obviously uses religion to justify and cover up sin! Therefore those who are not brainwashed by it should be able to see through it, that it is a system of lies and oppression. \n\nIt is understandable when leaders of countries steeped in islam go along with it. But there is NO EXCUSE for leaders like Trudeau, who have NOT been brought up in it and yet support and promote it. They have no regard for truth, no respect for God, and do not care about the millions across the world who have been and are being victimized by islam.

Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. I have often wondered why can't we have a healthcare system like Canada's but America spends all of it's money on so many things in the world because of our position on the world stage we just can't work that out, thats what happens when you're the world super power.\n Most Americans have health insurance through their employer, a certain amount is taken out of our paycheck every month and if I get sick or have an emergency I pay a small co pay at the doctors office which is 35 dollars and emergency room co pay is 150 the insurance pays the rest.

Did she just list honor killings as a part of Islam??? This journalist needs to research the religion properly because honor killings are not condoned whatsoever... this concept is just belted out by haters who are on a smear campaign of Islam. And then this journalist gave that farzana lady the last word of her 'critical' views on Islam it just undid everything the Muslims were doing before her giving a clearer picture of Islam, farzana lady will just make people confused I mean those are her personal opinions but how does it help this piece? Also last time I checked following fashion trends is not synonymous to peer pressure as what journalist wants to suggest that girl was peer pressured in to wearing the scarf when she clearly explained she wasn't. And when that guy was talking about teaching women Islamic studies journalist is like but you just teach them Islam not anything else WELL it's a mosque that's what people usually do if they want to learn religion they go to place of worship, if they want to learn something else they go to school or university.
