In Regina the majority of the homeless are native, not all but many natives live in run down places they don't take care of. I feel sorry for this man and his family! But I wonder how sorry he feels, knowing that by coming to Canada, he and his fellow immigrant countrymen have, taken jobs away from Canadians? 1500 people like myself that have worked here all their lives? I was working in the meat industry for over fifteen years, just to have my employer, take my skilled job and give it too an unskilled worker, under the temporary foreign worker program. That program was set up by the federal government for unskilled workers, coming to Canada for unskilled jobs that Canadians didn't want. My job was a skilled job, that I had to work my way up from the bottom, to the level of employment, that only skilled workers were capable of doing. This temp program was for unskilled employment only! But if your employer is big enough in the industry, the government allows them to bend the laws of the land, and give your jobs to any undereducated immigrant that comes along...WTF? Canada wake up!!!

So I'm in a dilemma of whether I should move down to Florida and live with my American girlfriend, or stay up here and support her moving up here in Canada. My main issue is health care. I just hear many people have bad service and poor treatment with insurance down there, but it all depends what insurance your applying with. People are fairly nice, but there are also some douche bags as well so I'm not surprised. With my overall budget, I could likely stay down there for about a few months or so. Here in Canada, taxes are a little higher, but it's worth it (Some idiot said our taxes are lower), health care is paid for, winters are cold but anyone can survive through it. Some say Canada is a socialist (which is Not -_-). Liberal party is ruining Canada as it is in a way. But again, it's better Justin than Trump. (Betting for Scheer). Idk, politics is bad in both countries I say. Idk, I'm likely missing some things here. Should I move down with my girlfriend, or stay up and support her moving up here?

So if you were in such a dire situation, dont you think you would do anything to get out? I had a friend that years ago she was living in the UAE. She was expected to cover up or else. Well being the rebel she is, she dared to show her shoulders. There are many problems with anti-immigrant rhetoric and one of them is the classification who is and who isn't an immigrant and the question of when does a person stop becoming an immigrant and become a Canadian? A significant portion of people living in Canada are first/second/third generation Canadians and so, how do we classify these people, are they immigrants or are they not? And what of their parents/grandparents who immigrated, are they? It's very important to note that without their ancestor parents, all these first/second/third gen Canadians will not be here and they are now 'Canadians' today because we had pro-immigration laws. Also, the idea of accessing services is by itself, very problematic. I spent the first 4 years of my life here paying high tuition fees as well as tax that are used to subsidize fellow Canadians' tuition fees yet I'm not able to access any government services. Following graduation, I worked as a worker on visa where my tax was no less than an average Canadian yet government services were very much inaccessible to me. It was only after I became permanent resident, that somehow everything suddenly became available to me. I have been tax paying 6-7 years before I became a PR here yet all those years, I wasn't able to access a single thing yet somehow, after I became PR, I'm eligible for everything? The tax argument doesn't make sense at all. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in like a year and does that mean now I am one of you, Canadians?

I agree with this law. For safety reasons. I have a few muslim women friends including two females family members that are muslim and they dont cover their faces. They also agree with this law. we all have the right to see the face of whom is around us. I also know one woman that is not muslim but dresses and covers her face like one. Why she does that I and my neighbours dont know why. She does not talk to anyone about it and only dresses that way when she goes out of the neighbourhood. What are her intentions to do such thing? She is portuguese does not speak arabic only portuguese and broken inglish. When we ask her why she does that we are told to mind our business. Yeah, we're not so awful... I'm American, living in Canada, and honestly, I'm here for my husband, who is Canadian. I absolutely ADORE him. The only thing that annoys me about Canada is the fact they seem to hate diabetics, anyone on a low-carb diet, or anyone who just doesn't want to eat a ton of sugar. In fact I can't get anything sugar-free in a store (simple things, like sugar free coffeemate, sugarfree cake mix) unless I pay, I'm not even lying here, TWENTY TIMES THE PRICE on Amazon, (I'm not paying $85.00 for a 10.2oz canister of coffee creamer... WTF?) That is 3.49USD in any walmart. These people have to be kidding me.

If the Muslims are fearful about living in Canada then they can move to somewhere else like Saudi which is the birth place of Islam without any excuse. Most the retail places i am not sure.. and I am not going to say that racism doesn't happen in these stores because i don't know for certain.. but i am going to post something to think about.. If their best buy is like the best buy where I live.. I knew people who worked best buy.. and certain floor reps get paid at least in part via commission.. or at least they use to.. typically the ones that approach you are the ones working to make sales.. they will usually only do so in certain areas though.. such as Computer area, home entertainment area, appliance area, phone area, POSSIBLY game area particularly if they notice you looking at the consoles, and occasionally I get approached when i am looking at personal entertainment stuffs such as the decent headphone and ipod/mp3 player area... If you stick to CDs, movies and stuff that you can just grab .. typically they wont bother you much.. unless you linger there too long.. then a floor rep might think you might need help looking at something.. In my experience they are just overly hover because they have to be.. but unless you are looking at something that is a focus of sales or a board employee finds you .. you almost have to hunt down reps to help you with something..

I don't want Islam in my country, not because I hate them but because religions have their own set of moral principles and beliefs, Islam is clearly not compatible to our secular system. I'm not religious myself and I live in the west coast where there are few muslims, but just based from the discussions I've had with transfer students that come to my university I already don't like what I hear. They were nice, kind of, but all of them had backwards ideas. If you need a better reason to be against it, simply read the first few pages from the Quran, it is deplorable, more so then the bible. \n\nIf they want to integrate, their beliefs need to be reformed like Christians have centuries ago.

it's not the religion.... it's the mac's convenience and the corner stores selling tropicana juice for 6 bucks a liter. It's the family oriented hiring policies and the rural area stores being bought and not offering fishing bait, ice or firewood but instead offering dollar store fishing lures for 20 bucks. it's the electronic stores that sell tape decks and old CD players. The stuff that really makes a bad impression is when a muslim family buys a Pizza Pizza or a subway and then changes the restaurant so that there is no where to be seated and the food is processed by someone who won't look me in the eye once and speaks a language that I can't understand to an employer about my sandwich and i will never know what the problem was. I feel like my spanish and native friends treat me the same as them. I feel like the scottish guy who hates me for not waking up at 5 in the morning is only mad because i'm not working as hard as him. I'm saying that maybe a lot of muslims don't want to be our friends and maybe some do... but it seems like they don't want to be my friend but will message a pretty white girl on every single facebook post with paragraphs of physical praise. i probably get a lot of facts wrong... but that world may be too far away for us to acclimate into each others societies. These people give their loyalty to their religion and not their country. Dangerous. If you don't like being stared at then do the tiniest bit of assimilation and remove the veils and head coverings. As a man, if I choose to wear a balaclava while I do my banking I will be arrested. We live in N.Y. about 2 hrs from the border to Canada and we love to go to NOTL for a quick vacation whenever we can - usually 4 or 5 times a year! We find Canadians to be WAY more chill than Americans and we love visiting Canada. One thing I'll tell you is figure out the insurance because we've had employees who didn't bother to do this resulting in them having none. When that happens, and you file your income taxes, the IRS takes a fine out of your return. The first year it's like $100, but it goes up each year. After a few years they can fine you like $600. Depending on how much you earn you may be able to apply for assistance in paying your health care premium or may not have to pay at all. I would encourage you to do that before you start getting fined...and welcome to the USA lol!

I honestly always wondered why anyone would move to the US from someplace like Canada that has better healthcare practices and stuff. (I've lived in the US my whole life and I think it's crap)

I can see westerners being freaked out by the women who cover their face. I myself was like wtf when I seen a women with covered face for the first time back in northern Virginia, and I am from Ethiopia - a country that has a big Muslim population, more than 30%. We live among Muslims peacefully, because we respect our differences, but the ones back home do not really cover their face so I was not used to it. I'd like to address this to the woman who went to one of Trump's rallies dressed as a Moslem with her head covered with a scarf and having a sign that reads, 'I come in peace'. I don't know why she was asked to be escorted out, but by her own words the people in the crowd were throwing questions at her as to whether she had a bomb under her cloak. Well, whether she knew it or not, she provoked the crowd by wearing the mark of a Moslem - her cloak. Also, by going to the rally dressed the way she was, she knew before hand that she'd be treated that way. On her part, I see that as provocation. Had she gone plainly dressed or attired like everybody else, there would have been no adverse reaction toward her. I don't know what she could have said why she was asked to be escorted out, but she fully knows that the whole of America had been given the real and true picture of Islam - one of terror, murder, beheading, bombs, war, and blood. How do Moslems expect the most compassionate, kind, benevolent people in the world to act? So, please, use your common sense and do not see America as the enemy, the aggressor, or the provocateurs. They're not. They are just being vigilant knowing that the enemy could be so sly, cunning and untrustworthy. Islamic people,we welcomed you to our country. Don't think that we are not watching you. We have given you a new start for a happy life compared to the life you have had in your native lands, but we are guarding against an invasion that your evil governments have designed for our beloved country. As a young child I remember viewing the Amish women as being in a chronic 'state of funeral' based solely on their signature dark garb. It created in my own (childlike) logistics that this was a type of society which I needed to keep at a distance from myself. We should all applaud these women for their natural right to be free from outdated ritual and constraints continue to impose these indignities upon women. Muslim women living in Canada who wear the typical dark cloth across the features of the face and over the body are putting forth a message that they are 'second class citizens', are 'less than equal', are 'one mans property' - not unlike a common barn yard animal but possibly owning less importance than an animal since an animal can be traded for goods or services for profit. One can understand how real (natural) Canadien women can view this type of apparel as a slap in the face of their gender, a violent slap to go to the 'back of the line', 'take it lying down and like it'. So much is fear based and these Muslim women should shed their fear as layers of dark folds are sent falling to the floor - once and for all...

These women have no idea how real Islam looks. If they lived under Shariah law as is what they would have to do if they lived in Saudi or some where they live under Shariah they would soon find out that a westernized view of islam is nothing like the real thing.
