I've been followed in stores & I'm white. The video is somewhat misleading. They want people to think whites can't be discriminated against. Sometimes stores just think you might steal, regardless of race. I worked at Food City & one of the managers accused me of stealing a drink I brought with me when I got there. I had just gotten to work & had my drink with me. I've also been mistaken by cops for someone else. And I'm a white man. Don't tell me only non-whites can be discriminated against! Interesting that the would-be Canadians in this video did not appear to speak English or French with any level of fluency. If you were planning to leave your home and establish yourself in Central or South America, you'd learn Spanish or Portuguese to an intermediate level so that you could communicate/understand clearly, land and advance in a job, have the ability to navigate your geography and make informed decisions. (Are you comfortable that this gentleman as depicted in this video would accurately understand his choices should he be allowed to cast a ballot in the next election?). Several of my ESL scholars have learned enough to function very nicely on their own in less than 2 years. It is not an impossible task, but it is part of the deal with immigration and it is essential.
